Upon Stargazing Hill, a shear of Shapas stop to stare.
Shapas bound across the hills of Kaytropolis with a sprightly cheer. Their bright coats and bold, spotted patterns echo their playful demeanor, making the Shapa a vivacious and impossible-to-miss companion. Yet that same vibrant wool acts as a warning: Shapas are not to be underestimated. A Shapa’s wide, unblinking eyes may appear innocent at first, but a direct gaze from a hungry Shapa leaves their prey ensnared and entranced. When cornered, a Shapa will strike with their venomous bite or unleash a stress-born, stinging toxin from their wool. They prefer to rely on the collective vigilance of their flock for safety, but a single provoked Shapa is capable of great harm. The Kaytropolitan saying Sweet as a Shapa is used to describe people or scenarios that seem innocent but are in actuality dangerous. Caring for a Shapa requires patience—and gloves. Their dense, situationally toxic wool must be sheared regularly to prevent matting and overgrowth, and they are grateful for those willing to brave a brief sting to help with the process. Shapas thrive on companionship and social bonds, attaching themselves firmly to those who protect them, and who they protect in return.

A Shapa will be one of the species available for adoption on Kaylune; you'll be able to grow closer to your adopted Shapa as you take care of them.
Will you push past the sting to embrace the Shapa's soft heart? Drop us a like, reblog, or a comment if you're making sheep's eyes at them!
