Padmavati release date voluntarily deferred, confirms Viacom 18, but Deepika shows no signs of slowing down!

It has been a tough ride for team Padmavati till now. With countless threats pouring in from the Karni Sena to ban the film, the Central Board of Certification (CBFC) expressing its displeasure on the pre-screening of the film to selected journalists and religious outfits’ outrageous outpour against the historical drama, one woman is single-handedly running the show. Deepika Padukone in the truest sense is living up to her courageous character of Rani Padmini from the film. With the breaking announcement of Padmavati‘s release being deferred, Deepika shows no sign of slowing down and is holding the baton for the film’s promotions.

The actress was today seen at Mumbai’s domestic airport taking a chartered flight to Vijayawada, where she is a part of  India’s first Social Media Summit Awards (SMSA). The two-day event is ongoing at a convention center in Vijayawada, and Deepika is among the guests of honor at the do.

Last night, the feisty actress went on  Bigg Boss 11 stage where she danced to Ghoomar and promoted the film alongside host Salman Khan.

SRIDEVI MIGHT SHARE SCREEN SPACE WITH DAUGHTER JHANVI IN HER DEBUT FILM…

Earlier this week, Karan Johar made a grand announcement about the debut of the Gen-Next stars Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor in the most awaited film Dhadak, which happens to be the official remake of the superhit Marathi film Sairaat. Even though the other stars of the film are yet to be announced, there has been a strong buzz about the original queen bee of Bollywood Sridevi all set to make a cameo in Dhadak. This is special, as the mother-daughter will be seen together in Janhvi’s debut film itself!

Recently, there was a newspiece in ‘Deccan C.hronicle’, wherein they had stated that, Sridevi will be making a cameo in Dhadak. In order to get it from the horse’s mouth, when Peeping Moon.com contacted Sridevi, all that she said was “I don’t want to talk anything about it right now”.

Those who have seen the original film, will swear by the fact that the role of the girl’s mother in the film is extremely integral and has been woven in the script n a very irreplaceable fashion. Considering this, it will really be a shocker for Sridevi to say no to a role in her daughter’s eagerly anticipated debut film, that is if we were to assume that Sridevi has been offered to play a role in Dhadak.

When asked about Dhadak, its director Shashank Khaitan had earlier told the media that while the basic premise of his film was caste differences and honour killing and that his film has been set up in Rajasthan.

Speaking of Sridevi, her last film was Mom, which also happened to be her 300th film. Distributed by Zee Studios International, the film also starred the stellar Nawazuddin Siddiqui. A few days back, there was a news stating that the film was being readied to premiere at a film festival in Russia, after which, the film will be released in Russia.

MAKERS OF PADMAVATI WITHHOLD THE RELEASE IN UK DESPITE CLEARANCE

Despite the BBFC approval, the makers won’t be releasing the film due to the fear of piracy.

As per Peeping Moon sources, the makers will not be releasing the film in UK as per the ongoing rumours, despite the British Board of Film Classification clearing. As the storm of controversies continue in India, the British Board of Film Classification has passed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati uncut with 12A certificate (12 years and above to be accompanied by an adult). BBFC took to twitter to announce the decision around midnight stating, “Padmavati is a Hindi Language epic drama in which a Sultan leads an invasion to capture Rajput Queen.” It also states that the film which is 164 minutes long has “moderate violence” and “injury detail”. However, the makers of the film have withheld the release to avoid piracy as well as among other reasons. The team is finalizing the date for now and will announce the release date by next week.

The contrasting situation in India is pertains as the film has been rejected twice by the Indian censor board. Death threats are flooding against the Padmavati actress, Deepika Padukone and the director. BJP leader Surajpal Singh Amu has placed a bounty of 10 crore against the actress. Padmavati’srelease has been postponed on the grounds of it being “incomplete” according to the Central Board of Film Certification. This delay was also the result of rising protests against the film, which include threats of beheading and immolation.

The film that has been under a lot of scrutiny from right wing groups who alleged “distortion of history” and the Rajput Queen being shown in poor light. Despite of Bhansali’s clarification of the film having “no romantic scene or song or dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji”, the right wing protestors haven’t stopped.

CBFC also said to wait for 68 days for the new application, while returning Padmavati to its producers – a rule that the censor board had but never implemented until now.

TEAM PADMAVATI ON HIGH ALERT; STARS ASKED TO STAY AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

The Padmavati trio have been accorded a high level of security.

In a grim reminder of what can be described as the climate of growing socio-politoco intolerance in the country, the threat perception against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has shot up to an alarming new high.

The threat, according to intelligence sources, has now been extended to the period drama’s principal actors, the real life Bollywood jodi Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is already under police protection after being threatened by the Rajput caste organisation Karni Sena which is convinced he has distorted historical facts in the making of his magnum opus.

Now, it is believed that Ranvir and Deepika are also on the organisation’s hate list. Activists of the Karni Sena earlier threatened to chop off the actress’ nose and burn Rajasthan if Padmavati was allowed to be screened on December 1.

But Mumbai Police sources reveal that intelligence reports have urged them to take the threat seriously and be vigilant against the filmmaker and his leading actors. For some reason Shahid Kapoor, who plays the third big role in Padmavati, is not under threat. This will only confirm the actor’s belief that he has been sidelined in the film.

In accordance with the fresh threat, the Padmavati trio have been accorded a high level of security. The detail for each of them includes a protection ring comprising two Police Inspectors, three Police Sub-Inspectors, 15 Police Constables of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF). This will be an armed contingent and will be supervised by an Assistant Police Commissioner.

Finally, Ranvir and Deepika have been warned to be extremely discreet about their public movements and not to reveal details of their promotional activities if any for Padmavati. It is believed that the actors have also been told to go off the social media radar for a while till the threat is reviewed.

They entered the house as a family & padosis to the housemates in Bigg Boss season 11. Almost after three weeks, Mehjabeen and Sabyasachi are out of the game and recently got evicted.

Peeping Moon.com exclusively spoke to the out-of-the-house padosis and tried digging deeper into the secrets of the house.

What is with Puneesh and Bandgi? Are the two doing it for the camera? (In reference to the couple’s infamous bathroom makeout session)

Sabyasachi: Puneesh and Bandgi started it off for the camera but gradually they grew close. Attachment is bound to happen when you spent 24 hours under one roof. I think they are faking it to be safe! This is a show of patience, mind power, and your character so these things should not be done. But that is what the house is all about, people have their own vested interests and in the name of taking a stand, they push agenda in the game.

Mehjabeen: It is disgusting that people stoop to this level to survive.

Sabyasachi, you said that Ben would have been out of the house long back, she survived only because of the game between Hina and others?

Sabyasachi: Yes, she is now in the house because of her closeness to Priyank. The way they are getting touchy is not mere friendship. I have also seen friendship but this is beyond the limit.

Mehjabeen: They are fooling around in the name of friendship, they are portraying it in the wrong light. I think the parents who are watching outside will be scared if their children next time tell them that they are friends with the opposite sex.

Do you think they are doing this to compete with Puneesh and Bandgi?

Mehjabeen: Yes, of course, Priyank needed it because when he came back the groups were already formed, Vikas and he were not on good terms anymore and he needed that attention. Ben, as you know, was anyways lying low, so this was the easy way out. Just like Puneesh & Bandgi got saved each time, they thought they will also have the same fate.

Among celebrity contestants, Hina Khan has become the household topic of discussion. What is the real side of her?

Sabyasachi: Hina is Janus faced, she has the “use and throw” attitude for people. When we had entered the house, Vikas had pointed this out to us that Hina used Priyank & threw him out, and then she did the same with Zubair.

Mehjabeen: Yes, initially I found it hard to believe but gradually I observed the same about her. She talks about girl power, but where is it? She needs bouncers where ever she goes. We, on the other hand, we were all playing individually unlike Hina. We definitely got less camera presence, but at least we did not come across as villains like her.

What about the recent massive fight in the house on Akash Dadlani commenting on women body parts?

Mehjabeen: I had warned Hina that she is choosing the wrong fight, even Salman told her the same thing, but after all its Hina does what she feels is right for her.  She wanted to make a big deal out of it for footage and then when Salman confronted her she completely backtracked from the whole comment. That’s how she actually is.

Who do you think will be in top five?

Sabyasachi: Vikas, Shilpa, Hiten, Arshi & Akash definitely deserve to be in the top five.

Who do you think deserves to win?

Sabyasachi: I think someone from Shilpa or Vikas should win. They are a package deal. Plus Vikas has an edge as he belongs to the industry so he knows what works for the camera and what does not. He plans and plot and acts accordingly. He is showing his intelligent side which is working for him.

Shilpa again is a powerhouse of entertainment. She gets angry, she makes up, she has her own individual set of followers inside & outside the house, so yes, and she deserves to win.

Puneesh and Bandgi’s Bathroom Romance Backfires as Dennis lashes out at BB11 latest lovebirds

Like every year, this season too of the widely watched reality show, Bigg Boss 11 is not short of fireworks. Be it the hate-love relationship between Vikas Gupta and Shilpa Shinde or the wild romance between Puneesh Sharma and Bandgi Kalra, the show has been making news and how!

Even though Bandgi’s romance has been providing non-stop fodder for the media, it has also upset her real-life boyfriend Dennis Nagpal, who is in no mood to take her back in his life.

The whole world cannot stop talking about the brewing romance between Puneesh Sharma and Bandgi Kalra. What’s your take on the same? Is their romance for real or are they faking it for the sake of the cameras?

Initially, Bandgi had said that it was Puneesh who had told her to fake their romance for the camera, as that was the only way for them to stay in the house for a longer time. Also, Bandgi knew that she had nothing to offer to the show. That’s why she became party to the so-called romance. But since then, they both hooked up and got real. They are physically into each other!

So, what started off as a ‘reel’ romance ended up in a ‘real’ romance?

Definitely, that’s the way it is!

Did Bandgi meet Puneesh for the first time on the show or did she know him previously?

She knew him even before the show. They had met during my birthday party. But she did not know that he had auditioned for the show, and neither did he know about her coming on the show.

Why do you think that the romance between them is for real?

Actually, Bandgi had spoken to someone stating that whatever is happening between her and Puneesh is for real and that there is nothing fake about it. What I feel is she should really have thought about her image, about me, my family and even her family. She just did not think about any of these aspects. She wanted to get into this industry as she wants to become an actress. Considering the fact that she got such a big platform (‘Bigg Boss’), she could have used it very constructively and positively. But then, she f***ed it up! I know that she is not aware of what is happening outside.

Considering what is happening between Bandgi and Puneesh, do you still watch the show?

To be very honest, I avoid watching the show right now. I have not been following the show since about a week.

In case Bandgi goes on to win the show, would you call her up to congratulate her?

Whether she wins the show or not, I will never ever contact her. At least, I will not contact her on my own. And in case she tries to contact me, I will definitely ask for an explanation for all this. I need to know the reason why she did all this to me when there were no problems in our relationship. Even at the last minute, she made a video call to me. She shared the passwords of her social media accounts for me to manage. Why would she do that if she had so many issues with me? I really do not know who influenced her that she went on to call me the worst person that she had ever met in her life!

How did you react when you heard her telling Salman that her boyfriend wanted to ‘share’ her?

It was shocking. What had happened was, when Priyank went back inside the house, he spoke about me to her. And even to him, she said that I was the worst person that she had ever met. Ever since then, she went completely against Priyank. It was only after Priyank spoke about me, that the audience got to know that she has a boyfriend. On top of all that, she went on to claim that she is not an actress and stuff like that, when in fact she has trained at Anupam Kher’s ‘An Actor Prepares’. She has also got her portfolio done for a whopping Rs.4 lakh!

There was this shocking bathroom stunt which Bandgi and Puneesh indulged in. It must have been really painful for you to watch…

Has she or hasn’t she officially called it quits with you?

She does not know anything as of now (smiles).

Recently, there was news about her being thrown out of her real house. How far is that true?

Let me tell you what happened. We have a common friend in Mumbai with whom Bandgi was staying. After seeing the show, this guy was called by the society members and informed that Bandgi could not stay in the society anymore. When informed that Bandgi was inside the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, the society members relented and said that the moment she came out, she needed to pack her bags and leave. Bandgi’s image has been tarnished very badly. I really don’t know what she is going to do about it as damage control.

In the future, if she comes back saying whatever she did was for the camera, will you accept her back in your life?

There is no way I will accept her. You can’t just go and have sex with people on National TV and then come back to say ‘I love you’. I believe that, 99% she will not even come back! And even if she does, I will not speak to her. Meeting her does not even figure on my list! I have my own image to take care of.

Akshay Kumar-Sonam Kapoor shoot climax in United Nations HG at Manhattan

Akshay and Sonam are flying to NYC for the last schedule of Padman. The biopic on Tamilian entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganatham who invented low-cost sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas about its usage and hygiene is being directed by R Balki. The film is based on the story The Sanitary Man from the book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad by Twinkle Khanna. Padmanmarks her debut in film production with her studio Mrs. Funnybones Movies. Akshay plays Arunachalam who was recognized for his work and awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India last year. That much is known about the man and his social awareness campaign that struck a chord in Twinkle Khanna. The film’s shooting was reportedly completed in a record 37 days in Indore and around Delhi. It’s a rural story therefore Bollywood sources are now wondering why Akshay and Sonam are flying to the US.

That’s where Akshay and Sonam are headed. The UN HQ is where the General Assembly and Security Council of the 72-year-old intergovernmental organisation tasked with promoting international cooperation between nations are located. Peeping Moon.com sources reveal that the Padman team has received privileged permission to shoot its climax scene inside this sacrosanct world stage in the heart of Manhattan. What the scene involves is not known yet. But this much is clear: the story of Padman is something that hugely appealed to the UN because sanitary awareness and hygiene is a subject high on its agenda. And the permission to shoot inside its HQ was given because of this. Not because the actor playing Arunachalam Muruganatham is Akshay Kumar.

NOT HRITHIK, BUT RAKESH ROSHAN PRAISES ANAND KUMAR’S AWARD

Anand​ Kumar​ ​has been ​honoured with the Rashtriya Bal Kalyan Award on Children’s Day by President Ramnath Kovind

Ever since the biopic on the revolutionary Indian mathematician Anand Kumar got planned, it has been making news. After the initial hiccups between the film’s producers (Preeti Sinha, and Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films) over the film’s leading man, it was Hrithik Roshan who won over Akshay Kumar and got finalized to play the lead in Super 30, the Bollywood biopic that mirrors the life and work of Anand.

Hrithik Roshan was unavailable to comment on Anand being honoured with the Rashtriya Bal Kalyan Award on Children’s Day by President Ramnath Kovind for his contribution in the field of education, but the actor’s father and producer-director Rakesh Roshan told Peeping Moon.com. “It’s a well-deserved recognition. His contribution in his field is unparalleled”.

Rakesh is pleased that Hrithik is being prepped for his role in the biopic to be directed by Vikas Bahl by none other than the mathematics genius himself. Anand, who is keen on being kept in the loop about everything to do with Super 30, was satisfied that while Hrithik looked nothing like him, the actor was immensely capable of encapsulating the spirit of his character perfectly. Much in the same manner that actor Dev Patel did justice to the character of the earlier Indian mathematical wizard Srinivasa Ramanujan in the 2016 Hollywood biopic The Man Who Knew Infinity.

Super 30 will go on the floors this December and is slated for release in November 2018. Even before it started, producer Preeti Sinha walked out of the project because “Super 30 did not make commercial sense anymore” and didn’t mind Anand Kumar putting his life story on celluloid with whoever he pleased. There were reports that Hrithik had also walked out of the project over creative differences. It was said that the actor, guided by his father Rakesh Roshan, had insisted on changes in the screenplay as they both felt Super 30 was too documentary-like in its treatment.

However, the film now appears set to roll. Anand Kumar is the brain behind the revolutionary ‘Super 30’ initiative under which 30 underprivileged but smart students get selected and trained by him to crack the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to engineering colleges like the NIT and IIT. He even takes care of their study materials and food. The female lead for the film opposite Hrithik has not yet been decided. The producers have said that the biopic is basically on Anand Kumar and his Super 30 students and the heroine will have to be cast accordingly.

JUST DIVORCED SANDEEP TOSHNIWAL TAKES KARISMA KAPOOR ON DINNER DATE

Is this the first dinner date that Karisma Kapoor and Sandeep Toshniwal went out on to celebrate the Mumbai industrialist’s divorce on Monday from his wife of 14 years, the orthodontist Dr. Ashrita Toshniwal? It looks like! Peeping Moon.com spotted them at the Bandra Kurla Complex fine dining restaurant ‘Hemant Oberoi’ last night. Karisma and Sandeep sat close together deep in conversation for almost three hours. They were the last to leave the restaurant at 1.30 am. But just when they reached the front door, Karisma spotted the paparazzi waiting outside for the juiciest photo opportunity of the week and turned back.

The good-looking couple have been quite a famous fixture at several Bollywood gatherings recently. And the fact that the industry has accepted Sandeep is evident from his presence at all the Kapoor-Khandaan get-togethers. Now that his divorce has come through, the Bollywood grapevine is already buzzing with the news that Karisma and Sandeep will take their relationship a step further and make it official.

Karisma’s own divorce from her Delhi-based industrialist husband Sunjay Kapur came through in June 2016. She married him in 2003. They have two children – Samiera and Kiaan. Earlier this year, Kapur tied the knot with his longtime partner, model Priya Sachdev, in a hush-hush ceremony in Delhi. Meanwhile, nobody is happier with the present turn of events than Karisma’s father, the yesteryear actor Randhir Kapoor. He has already assured her that she will have his blessings if she chooses to marry again. Randhir said that he will support anything that makes his daughter happy. “She is young and must be seeing him (Sandeep), I don’t know. I see their photographs,” Randhir said. He was earlier quoted as saying that he doesn’t think Karisma has plans of getting married anytime soon and that she is enjoying motherhood. “If she wants to begin her life again and her children (Samiera Kapoor, 12, and Kiaan Raj Kapoor, 7) are happy with it, then I will support them. I don’t think there is anything wrong in that in today’s time,” added Randhir.

MYSTERY BEHIND WHY ALIA REPLACES POOJA IN MAHESH BHATT’S 1991 SEQUEL

The movie will be entirely based on Dutt and Alia and is said to be a tight and powerful script!

Here’s a sensational bit of confirmed Bollywood news. When Mahesh Bhatt’s romantic thriller Sadak was released in 1991 starring Sanjay Dutt and his daughter Pooja Bhatt, the filmmaker’s youngest daughter Alia Bhatt was not even born. Now, 26 years later, when Bhatt’s production house Vishesh Films is making the sequel to the big grossing film of the 1990s, it is not Pooja who will return to the screen from hibernation with Dutt as is being widely reported. Peeping Moon.com has learned that Sadak 2 will star Dutt and Alia instead!

The deal was reportedly struck on Thursday when Alia was photographed by the paparazzo while leaving her father’s office in Khar west. Now this might have been an innocuous visit by Alia to see her father. But Peeping Moon.com sources reveal that Alia went to the Vishesh Films office to sign on the Sadak 2 deal. The sequel won’t feature Pooja. It will be entirely based on Dutt and Alia and is said to be a tight and powerful script. Nothing else can be revealed about the film that the Bhatt brother Mahesh and Mukesh are producing. Pooja, who is a filmmaker too, might assist her father and uncle in directing her kid step-sister.

  Mahesh had reportedly been toying with Sadak 2 for a while. But after Pooja bumped into Dutt in Delhi last April, she got her old co-star to drop in at the Vishesh Films office and together they convinced her father to write the story. Mahesh revealed what happened at the narration, “Sanjay who was 32 when we made the original, comes back as a 54-year-old into the 21st-century world that is collapsing in front of his eyes, where the distinction between the house and the ‘sadak’ is fast disappearing. The story has the emotional connect of the films I made back in the ’90s. I could see that in the reaction of those present at the narration. They were visibly moved.”

However, what led to Pooja dropping out and Alia stepping in is not known. Just some time ago Pooja had excitedly told the media, “Sadak 2 will reflect the special relationship my father and Sanjay share. NEITHER JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ NOR VARUN DHAWAN ARE TO BE BLAMED!

This time it’s true, but fans of the two Bollywood heartthrobs have heard this so many times before, that nobody’s willing to believe that Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra have called off their relationship. Nor is anybody willing to bet that the starry couple is through. But, yes, Peeping Moon.com has pukka khabbar that it’s over for good between them. Alia and Sidharth are single again. And, perhaps still nursing wounds from their fresh parting of ways, the two actors are not yet seeing anybody currently.

Bollywood sources tend to pooh-pooh the news because the couple has been spotted lately at some Diwali parties and also at Shah Rukh Khan’s private birthday bash at his Alibaug beach home. But that, sources say, was unavoidable. And at best, they are civil with one another in social circles; at worst, they ignore each other whenever they can. “It’s sad,” said a source close to both actors since their 2012 debut in Student of The Year, “but they were a lovely couple and even though they never went public with their relationship like some other stars have, Alia and Sid were an item – you could see that.”

Meanwhile, the gossip press is already beginning to churn with ideas about who could be behind this break up. Poor Jacqueline Fernandez, who co-starred with Sidharth in Brothers (2015) and A Gentleman (2017), is being described as the femme fatale who sent Alia over the edge with jealousy. And at the same time dashing Varun Dhawan, who debuted with Alia and Sidharth in Student of The Year (2012) and went to to act with her in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), is also being blamed because he shares a rollicking relationship with the actress on and off screen. 

Peeping Moon.com sources say that neither of the stories is true. Jacqueline and Varun are not to be blamed for the Alia-Sid relationship being slit wide open. Even though both Jacqueline and Varun are single themselves at the time. She hasn’t been in a relationship with anybody in a while and he just broke up with longtime girlfriend Natasha Dalal. Sources point out that Karan Johar, who is mentor to Alia and Sidharth, and is reportedly responsible for playing cupid, was with the young actors at SRK’s Alibaug party and he seems to have accepted their decision to go separate ways. So that, indeed, is a closed chapter.

Paparazzi be warned! Henceforth, Sara Ali Khan will not be your muse. So don’t do a Mary’s Little Lamb number with her from now on. It’s not that the debutante actress is weary of being photographed. She’s been told or warned or ordered or whatever not to pose or allow herself to be clicked by the paparazzo anymore. Enough is enough!

Peeping Moon.com witnessed a funny sight outside filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor’s Santacruz office today. Sara, looking as pretty as a picture, joining hands and pleading with a solitary photographer not to take her pictures. “I’m requesting you, I’m begging you – please don’t,” Sara was saying as the pap’s finger hovered over his camera’s trigger uncertainly. “You take pictures outside my gym, my home, the spa, when I step out for dinner and script reading sessions. Now I’ve been told not to take any more pictures. So please…” And such was the girl’s beseeching charm, that the pap went away shamefaced.

Now Sara Ali Khan is running neck-to-neck with other celeb kids like Jhanvi Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Suhana Khan, and Navya Naveli Nanda to see who among them is the paparazzo’s favourite star kid. The daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, at 24, had a dream debut lined up in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath opposite the much loved and hated Sushant Singh Rajput. But now that’s been pushed to the end of 2018 because of the delayed winter in North India. Abhishek would have liked Sara not to take on any other film till his was released. But a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do. And Sara wasn’t waiting.

She has reportedly accepted a film by Anushka Sharma’s production house Clean Slate Films that’s being co-produced by Kedarnath’s producers Prernaa Arora and Arjun Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment and is determined to be Bollywood’s next big thing after Alia Bhatt. Which is a good thing. But our question is: who has forbidden the young actress from getting clicked? Can it be Abhishek attempting damage control late in the day? Anushka or Prernaa who don’t want Sara to get stale before she begins their film? Mama Amrita Singh who is notoriously rigid in these kind of matters? Or Papa Saif Ali Khan whose finding the wolf whistles for his baby girl getting a little uncomfortable now?

SALMAN KHAN STARRER IS YRF’S COSTLIEST FILM!

The film will be YRF’s costliest until the release of Thugs of Hindostan starting Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif.

Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai is the costliest YRF Studios film ever. It’s trailer was released to exciting response yesterday. And already the film promises to be the most anticipated big-ticket release of 2017. TZH also marks the return of Salman as Tiger and Katrina Kaif as Zoya. The sequel to Ek Tha Tiger (2012) by Yash Raj Films is bigger and better than before and the studio has left no stone unturned to make the second installment on a grander scale. The film also promises to be Salman’s return to the top of the box office chart after the disaster that was Tubelightearlier this year.

According to sources, TZH was made with a budget estimated of Rs.130 crore including print and publicity. The action thriller was shot in Austria, Greece, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates with no expenses spared for the locations. The trailer suggests a strong storyline, exciting car and bike chases, plenty of gritty hand action and gun battles.

TZH’s distribution is being handled by YRF itself and the studio is, therefore, talking directly to exhibitors. Salman, who is working with YRF for the third time after Ek Tha Tiger and Sultan (2016), has reportedly asked for a 50 per cent profit share for TZH. The film will be YRF’s costliest until the release of Thugs of Hindostan starting Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, this period action-adventure film will see Aamir collaborating with the Big B for the first time. It is being made on an approximate budget of Rs. 190 crore. Elaborate sets on foreign locations and expensive costumes have cost YRF a bit, but with Aamir and Mr. Bachchan on board, the studio has not hesitated to invest money because the returns are guaranteed.

After Baahubali which released last year, Aditya Chopra wants Tiger Zinda Hai and Thugs Of Hindostan to be Bollywood’s path-breaking films. Also, YRF does not want to miss out on single screens for its December release of TZH. The film that follows the adventures of the Indian spy Tiger from the first installment, is slated to release on December 22. While Thugs of Hindostan is planned as a Diwali 2018 release.

STATE TAKING DECISION ON SECURITY FOR PADMAVATI’S RELEASE

The Mumbai Police is going to decide on what kind of security will be needed at the time of the film’s promotions and release.

Poor Sanjay Leela Bhansali! The beleaguered director of the much anticipated and also unfortunately controversial period drama Padmavati must feel like he’s riding the horns of several dilemmas. A day before the Gujarat Election Commission reportedly recommended the shifting of his film’s release from December 1 to a later date due to the assembly elections in the state, Bhansali is also said to have received bad news indirectly from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

According to sources, the CM is said to have conveyed at a political meeting that just like the Rajput caste organisation Karni Sena of Rajasthan, the people of Maharashtra too would not tolerate any distortion of history inPadmavati. The message was reportedly sent home to the filmmaker that if people were protesting against the film, then Bhansali ought to be careful before making any fictional work for his own interests.

Meanwhile, Bollywood is wondering whether this will be a big setback for Deepika Padukone who plays the title role in the film. Earlier, the actress was supposed to have reached out to I&B and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani for help in facilitating the film’s smooth release. Following this, Smriti is said to have spoken to Fadnavis, and the CM reportedly ordered the security around theatres screening Padmavati to be heightened at the time of its release. He also asked for security to be beefed up wherever promotions of the film were being held.

Sources reveal that after the Chief Minister’s statement, the Mumbai Police is going to decide on what kind of security will be needed at the time of the film’s promotions and release. Just before this, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal also demanded a ban on Padmavati and said the state government would write to the Central Board of Film Certification about this. Rawal, who claims to be a descendant of the clan of Rawal Ratan Singh, Rani Padmavati’s husband, said that history and historical references were being twisted in the film and a legal disclaimed was being inserted to just save one’s skin.

WILL BHANSALI PUSH THE FILM TO JAN 2018 FOR GUJARAT ELECTIONS?

Is the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati going to be deferred again? Possibly to somewhere in January 2018? If sources working on the period drama are to be believed, this is a strong possibility. And responsible for this will be the Gujarat legislative elections which are being held in two phases on December 9 and 14 for 182 assembly seats. The results will be declared on December 18.

According to sources, the Election Commission of Gujarat reportedly asked Ajit Andhare, the COO of co-producer and presenter Viacom 18, to push Padmavati’s release to after the elections. The reason probably being because the EC anticipates trouble from the Karni Sena, the Rajput caste organization that is objecting to the film and wants the polls to be held in a fair and free atmosphere. Also, at that time, the state’s entire police force would be on election duty.

Padmavati, which has already weathered many storms, is slated for release on December 1. Earlier it was to hit screens on November 17. Bhansali sought a later release date reportedly to make up for production time lost due to the disturbances caused by the Karni Sena. Now it appears as if the film will go into the New Year and fans of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor will have to wait longer to catch the much-anticipated film.

The understanding given to the Padmavati team is that the Gujarat authorities would also be in a better position to support the film if it was not released in the election month. Viacom is reportedly studying the pros and cons of a deferred release.

Meanwhile, Bhansali’s take on this new obstacle is not known. Given that the filmmaker was struggling to meet the December 1 deadline because of worldwide distributor Paramount Pictures’ demand for Padmavati to be released in 3D, this should come as a welcome break for Bhansali. He is said to be up to his ears in the edit work currently.

Indications are that the Karni Sena is adamant on stalling the film’s release all over the country. Simultaneously, several promotional tie-ups with the film are said to be canceled. The Padmavati team had planned to visit colleges and malls to promote the film. However, due to the threat from the Karni Sena, colleges and malls have reportedly backed out from their commitments. They don’t want to take any risk and hence made it clear to the team.

AANAND L RAI MOUNTS MASSIVE SECURITY AT STUDIO AS SRK-ANUSHKA PLAY HOLI

SRK and Anushka have been at it for the last two days

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, who are working on Aanand L Rai’s “dwarf film” at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai, are shooting a Holi song behind closed doors amidst much security. The last time Aanand shot a Holi song, it was for his Sonam Kapoor-Dhanush romantic drama Raanjhanaa in 2013. That song, Tum Tak, went on to become an anthem for the festival. The filmmaker is keen that the SRK-Anushka Holi number eclipses Tum Tak.

SRK and Anushka have been at it for the last two days. It is not just a Holi song of festivity and gaiety, but one of considerable emotion. Music for the untitled film is by JAM8, Badshah, Tanishk Bagchi and Ajay-Atul. Katrina Kaif is also in the film, and reports are that she plays herself – the actress, but she is not part of the Holi song. The three actors worked together in Yash Chopra’s last directorial, Jab Tak Hain Jaan in 2012. Subsequently, SRK and Anushka did Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal this year.

Sources say that Aanand, who is reputed for making light-hearted films of small-town characters with colorful lives, like Raanjhanaa and Tanu Weds Manu (2012), will make sure the “dwarf” film is not short of drama and romance. He is working with SRK for the first time and was quoted as saying, “I feel honored to work with him and I will take some time for the film to move forward.” The sources add that VFX and special effects will play a heavy role in the film.

It is also said that Aanand has finalized a title for the film but is averse to revealing it now. The film, whose cast includes Ronit Roy, Zeeshan Ayub and Deepak Dobriyal, is supposedly looking for a December 2018 release. It is also supposed to have Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Alia Bhatt, Sridevi and Karisma Kapoor in special appearances. Is SRK doing another Deewangi Deewangi number like from his 2007 film Om Shanti Om that had several Bollywood stars making a walk in appearances? Watch this space for more!

SALMAN TO BEGIN RACE 3 SHOOT WITH BANK HEIST SONG!

This is Salman’s debut in the action-thriller franchise

The race is on at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio! Salman Khan is warming up for the first day of shooting of Remo D’Souza’s Race 3. And, indications are, he will kick-start this schedule with a song and dance number that will be choreographed by Remo himself, naturally.

This is Salman’s debut in the action-thriller franchise. He is co-producing it with Ramesh Taurani. But for the third installment, veteran directors Abbas-Mustan will make way for Remo. Shooting will begin on Thursday, but Peeping Moon.com got a scoop from the sets.

The construction of a long tunnel is underway which apparently leads into the locker room of a bank. The scene is a song, but it is also a heist, and Salman is the main feature of this number. His co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol and Daisy Shah will also shoot for the song on Day 1. According to sources, Salman is looking forward to start shooting for Race 3.

The actor plays a negative role in the film. This is Salman’s first full-fledged bad role. It won’t be like his ‘Devil’ character in Sajid Nadiadwala’s 2014 action film Kick who also commits heists but in a Robin Hood way by robbing the rich to help the poor. Interestingly, Jacqueline was also his co-star in Kick.

The song will be shot on a grand scale befitting Salman’s entry into the Race franchise. The tunnel being constructed is believed to be the longest created on a Bollywood set. Earlier films like Dhoom (2004) and Happy New Year (2014) also had heists in their plots, but this is going to be bigger and better.

Salman, who dislikes dancing on screen, will be seen shaking a leg to Remo’s choreography. Remo has managed to coax some kind of magic out of the actor in their earlier collaborations on songs like Selfie Le Le Re from Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2016) and the Radio song from Tubelight this year. Sources say, Remo’s technical brilliance and Salman’s uninhibited madness is bound to make the number a chartbuster and a treat for all Salman fans. The film is slated to release on Eid 2018.
