Alright, I see the vision. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Fight club spoilers under the cut

At first I thought the premise was a *little* lacking, when it seemed like a story about a guy with some chemical deficit in his brain that causes him to seek activities that bring out an extreme emotional reaction. But, as fight club was in motion, it had this underground/secret society element which I really loved for a reason I can't quite place.

Don't get me wrong, that vibe remained when fight club morphed into Tyler's organized crime gang, but it was a different type of feeling to recognize a fight club member when it was a small group as opposed to when it's multiplied in size and evolved into something else entirely (with enough people to pull off the stunt with that politician and have enough employees to ensure those buildings at the end were empty)

At the revelation that Tyler was a hallucination, I thought it was a really random turn story-wise and at first I was a bit let down. But then, I realized that it's really just the cherry on top of this pile of metaphors - the call is coming from inside the house. You've got to stop wishing someone's going to take you by your bootstraps and morph you into who you want to be, with no actual involvement, investment, or liability of your own. Because a person like doesn't exist. Well, not another person. Because, yeah, maybe the guy you want to be doesn't exist. That doesn't mean he couldn't exist in, I don't know, months? years? And you could wake up and realize that you had become him, and that you had been so caught up in it that you can hardly remember what it's like to not be him.

And, as for the screen-flashing part at the end: Holy shit, what a stunt. Not that it would've been controversial to show it playing in a theater, since it's very clearly not for young people (and anyone who mistakenly thought so would realize their mistake far before the end of the movie), but it's the detail that it reflects on what Tyler's seen doing in his introduction while working at the movie theater - the splice happening in "real life" is just another of the 'Tyler' effect that we had barely just begun to comprehend.
