I'm Brent Hutchinson, founder of Off Orbit Productions. I got the name several years ago when I was in college. I was in an animation class and a video editing class. Part of my project was to create a Productions company logo to place on class project. At the time, I picked Off Orbit, because I went against the grain. The teacher would tell us this is how something is done. I'd say, "Why not this?" It's a similar result. Anyway, I liked the name from a kind of a rebel standpoint. I wanted to build a team where all ideas are pitched and welcomed. Made by the crew, everyone will do everything absolute equal pay for equal work. All hands on deck. In a fun environment. That was my business plan and still is. I didn't think I'd be keeping the name. I was one night making an animated logo when my father passed away. My girlfriend at the time heard him in the living room make a noise. I got up to check the noise and found him gone. I had a rocky history with my father. He was strict and passive-aggressive. When I was younger a little abusive. He humbled a lot after his heart surgery. Off Orbit has become more than a rebellious throw-away school project. It's a reminder how face your world can change. And remember those people you have lost, not by mistakes and bad moments. Focus of the happy times and the projects you wanted to do with that person. Help others and finish that project with them. Always create new memories. You dont need to follow a preset path, dont be afraid to go "Off Orbit."
