“ oh i don’t know - you must have an app for that or something. if you have yacht apps i don’t see why you can’t make the rain stop. ” she laughed, shrugging her shoulders “i don’t even mind the rain, i mean - we’re getting wet in the water anyway. ” she raised an eyebrow, “ WHO needs 75 feet of yacht? you know what, don’t answer that. ” a bit taken aback by isaiah’s next comment, krissy was doing the best that she could to bite her tongue, but who was this rich guy to police what she wanted to wear?? “ um, well it’s a good thing that i don’t care about what LITERALLY anyone in this town thinks of me. ” she said for starters, crossing her arms over her chest almost defensively. “ and it’s a good thing i don’t need you to let me do anything. and wait - do you even hear yourself right now ?? i’d be half naked in a bathing suit, too. ”

it was obvious from krissy’s body language that she hadn’t liked his previous comment on her needing a bathing suit and had actually been offended by it for some reason. while isaiah wasn’t in the mood to argue about something as childish as that, he wasn’t going to not say anything either. “okay, great? i mean, i have no idea how everyone in town got included into this conversation but whatever. my point was that it’s the only pair of underwear you have right now and bathing suits are made for swimming, so why drench your clothes when there are clothes for that.” he tried his best to clarify but it appeared it wasn’t good enough because krissy still had an attitude. “oh my god, are you seriously upset over clothes? what are you? five? and who said anything about not letting you do anything? you’re a grown woman. all i was trying to say was that there’s a time and place for certain clothes. would you wear only your underwear to a dress party? i sure hope not. also, no, not every bathing suit is like that. there are different kinds.” isaiah wasn’t arguing, he really wasn’t, but he could see this would lead to one so if krissy wanted to make a fool out of herself in front of other people he wasn’t going to stop her. “look, you do what you want. i only had your best interest at heart like any friend would.”

after spending most of the morning running errands and then spoiling himself with a little shopping spree, isaiah had nearly worn himself out and was in need of a place to chill that wasn’t his house. unexpectedly, that place turned out to be the nearest café where he could also have a drink with enough caffeine to keep him going for the rest of the day. so, he parked his car and entered the sanctuary to indulge himself in the peace that it offered to all adults with a hectic life. too lazy to use his voice anymore though, isaiah settled for another means of communication and just typed out his order on his phone before finding a seat by the window so he could keep an eye on his car once he received his espresso. now that he had his cup of caffeine and a place to chill, he sat back to get comfortable and turned his music on in his hearing aids in the hope that he wouldn’t be bothered. sadly, his solitary lasted only a few minutes before he was interrupted by someone waving their hand in his peripheral vision to get his attention. @fckisak

“i think that’s a very fair trade-off,” she nodded with a smile. “you know, that’s both very convenient and the most absurd thing i’ve ever heard. you can call a yacht with your phone. i feel like we might be walking into an episode of black mirror. and private jets? truly, this is a strange new world.” she had never really experienced this level of casual wealth. it was like he didn’t een notice how outlandish the things he was saying were. “ah, convenience! you don’t have to wait for your yacht, it’s ready when you are.” she smiled and shook her head. at his words she snorted. “you already know that i love you, little rich boy. don’t let it go to your head.” only 7,000. surreal. she didn’t even know what to say to that. they were about to spend a semester of her tuition on an afternoon. “this is starting to feel distinctly pretty woman-ish,” she laughed as she stood up with him. “will i get to have a makeover montage? those always looked pretty fun.”

isaiah laughed at her response because of how inconceivable renting a yacht on an app seemed to mia. while the difference in lifestyle with his friends had taken some getting used to and made him stand out even more around them, now he just enjoyed their reactions to what was simple to him. “how is it absurd? if you can order food from an app and have it delivered to you, how is a yacht or jet any different?” isaiah agreed that the world was weird, but he was also glad that it was much easier to live in now thanks to technology. “i am humbled by your kind words, peasant girl,” he couldn’t help but burst out laughing because it sounded so stereotypically rich, which he loved to make fun of. “not at all, my lady! simply a friend treating a friend,” he denied in a posh british accent. “but i’d be honored to give my lady a makeover if she wished.” isaiah smiled and then walked over to his key holder by the door to ponder which car to take. “i want something fancy. let’s take the royce dawn,” he decided and then turned to mia. “you’re cool with the wind, right?”

        “since you’re pulling out harry potter references on me, i guess you have my attention.” she looked up at him through her lashes. “for now, anyways. i’m curious to see if you can keep it up.”  she challenged, a small smile on her lips forming for an added effect of intrigue.  “hmm, depends, are you offering to buy me a new one, rich kid?”

“i’d argue that i’m not here for your entertainment but i kinda am,” he said, mostly to himself. he never failed to attempt to entertain anyone who was with him so technically it was his job. then again, what was a guy without the need for one supposed to do in his spare time, anyway? “sweetheart, i’m rich. partying and drinking is all we seem to do because we’re unoriginal and dead inside so i’ll definitely be able to keep it up.” isaiah knew laughing at your own joke was sad but he couldn’t help it. “sure, peasant kid! where do you want to go?” he asked playfully.

“ i mean, if you can conjure up a YACHT i’m sure you could ask your people to stop the rain, or something. i don’t know what kind of rich folk connections you have. ” krissy shrugged, not sure how to comprehend ANY of the numbers he was spitting out. “ oh wow, a 75! ” she feigned excitement, even though she had no idea what he was talking about. “ i’m ready to go RIGHT NOW. it’s called a bra and underwear, richie rich. ”

“my people? what is that even supposed to mean?” he laughed with a confused expression. out of all the things people had commented on about him being rich, krissy’s definitely took the cake for the most ridiculous. “it’s not like i’m friends with weather controlling aliens or a secret society of elites who decide what the daily weather will be like.” isaiah hoped she had been joking because he refused to believe she was being serious. her feigned excitement and uncertainty about the yacht was more obvious to him though. “75 means the yacht is 75 feet long,” he kindly clarified and smiled at being called the name of one of his favorite childhood movies before he widened his eyes in surprise. “oh, no, no! this isn’t some frat pool party, it’s a yacht party so you’ve got to dress the part. like, what kind of guy would i be if i let you go half naked?”

“i’m a huge fan of old school music (some being post and pre-wwii jazz and 50s rock n’ roll), i’ve become more sensitive to vibrations since losing a lot of my hearing, and i love collecting vinyls.

“i’m 6’3, but my entire family’s pretty tall so it’s no surprise that i am too. despite being considered a giant in the states though, i’m only like three inches above the average height of men in my parents’ home country.”

“i used to get mistaken for being older when i was younger cause of my height, but people mostly mistaken me for being eighteen because i’ve still got a baby face. there was even this one time that someone had mistaken me for as young as sixteen! but i don’t mind it.”

16: have you ever wanted to tell someone something but you didn’t?

“yeah, it was when i was nine and first discovered that i was losing my hearing. i had wanted to tell some of my friends at school about it, but i was scared that they’d treat me differently so i just pretended like i could still hear fine. it didn’t go well.”

“ that’s what i’ve BEEN saying. ” krissy said with a sigh. she’d wanted to go swimming or hiking or something other than sit in the house. sure, it’d been raining, but krissy was never one to want to sit in the house. she laughed to herself as he FINALLY made a suggestion that she wanted to hear. “ yes, i wanna go swimming. ” she nodded her head, “ but a whole yacht?? ” she tried not to seem too confused, though she thought to herself - ‘ rich people things ’, “ that’d be cool, i just wanna cannonball off of it. ”

“well, i couldn’t make it stop raining, now could i?” he gave her a look but was glad that he wasn’t alone with his idea. it had felt like almost forever since isaiah had been outside and was filled with excitement at the thought of finally being able to do something fun. “yeah! you can’t go swimming without a yacht. it’s just not possible,” he said and then opened the app to search for one. “but don’t worry, you’ll be able to cannonball off it to your heart’s desire.” his favorite sizes never went below 51 feet so she didn’t need to worry. “okay, got one! it’s a 75 with a slide included,” isaiah said before he purchased it and then looked up at krissy afterwards. “so are you going to use your old bathing suit or do you just want to get a new one?”

the girl looked up from the device she was working on fixing. “rent a yacht. just like no big deal.” ella chuckled, sliding the back onto the phone and powering it back up. “but yeah, why not. best to make use of this island and the water is the best way to to that.” relaxing back in her chair, she felt her muscles relax and her bones crack as she stretched. she had never been to a party on a boat before and the thought of doing something new had always excited her. “is there anything you’d want me to do?”

“honestly, it really isn’t now-a-days. i’ve got an app for it,” he shook his head. he knew that the friends of his who didn’t share the same lifestyle as him weren’t aware of all the things accessible to those with lots of money, but isaiah would be lying if he said he didn’t find it just a little funny how renting a yacht seemed almost inconceivable to ella. he was just glad that she hadn’t objected to the idea. “exactly! but no, i’ve got it covered,” he reassured her with a dismissive wave. it really only took a couple taps and the yacht would be theirs. “though, you are going to need a bathing suit if we’re going to do this. i know you don’t have one on you so do you want a new one?”

          at the sound of yachting, raven practically bounced out of her seat. luxurious boating ? that was her idea of a good time. ❛❛ yes, yes, and yes ! — you don’t need to rent a yacht though, silly. we could just take my father’s. ❜❜ the blonde was uncharacteristically effervescent; practically bursting at the seams with party ideas. ❛❛ i wanna go all out. no cheap kegs and red solo cups. something classy. ❜❜

although isaiah’s group of friends were pretty diverse in many ways, especially class, there was just something about being around the ones who shared the same lifestyle as him that always made him feel right at home. “sure! i don’t mind that. are you sure your dad’ll be cool with it though? i wouldn’t want us stealing it from him if he needed it.” he asked. it was for reasons as such that every member of his family had their own to avoid interference, but he knew not everyone did the same. “of course! it wouldn’t be classy if it wasn’t on a yacht, right? it’s champagne and wine or nothing at all.”

         all of his suggestions sounded like so much fun—and did he just say yacht?! she tried not to look so excited at the prospect of stepping foot in the water vehicle, but it had been such a long time since she had… not since her father. emo thoughts aside, it sounded like the perfect opportunity to round up potential sugar daddies. “only if you promise it’s going to be as fun as you make it up to be.” she simpered, raising a brow at him.

if there was one thing about isaiah that all of his friends could be sure of, was that he always made sure that they were included and that they had a good time. it was practically one of his sacred rules when he was with someone, whether they were a friend or not. “i solemnly swear to make sure you have a fun time.” he paraphrased the famous harry potter quote with a hand on his chest, and he meant it. isaiah then pulled out the app and searched through it before he found a yacht. “i found the perfect one, and it’s not too big but not too small,” he commented before he purchased it and then turned back to kaia. “alright, it’s rented. all we need now are bathing suits and we’ll be set. do you want to buy a new one or do you want to use your own?” he asked, brows raised.

mia chuckled as she conceded, “you got me there. still, i wish you would have told me that you wanted to! i can bring ear plugs next time. you listen to music, i read. everybody wins.” she hated the idea that he didn’t have free reign in his own house because of her presence. his description of yachts made her laugh. as someone who had always lived just at their means, mia couldn’t really imagine what it must be like to just have yachts at your call. “so is there an app for that? a yacht app? because i think that would be absolutely hysterical.” watching his smile grow, mia found that she was actually excited about it. isaiah had always been somebody who knew how to have fun, and she was glad that he looked excited. “you are ridiculous, you know that? wonderful too, but definitely ridiculous.”

“okay, then how about this? next time you’re reading, i’ll let you know when i want to make noise. fair enough?” he smiled, brows raised. isaiah would have to purchase a good pair for her the next time he saw her because the kind mia would need couldn’t be bought at just any store. he’d worry about that later though. “of course! there’s an app for everything now-a-days, yachts included. there’s even ones for private jets and helicopters too,” he told her as he scrolled through the app. “the best thing about it is that you can pay with plastic and have it ready when you arrive.” isaiah felt it was so much easier than having to walk around the lot and then pay cash like his parents had to back then. “aww, thanks! i love you too.” isaiah cooed with a playful touched expression, a hand on his chest. “oh, found one! it’s an 88 for only 7,000. perfect,” he exclaimed before hitting purchase. “okay, now that the boat’s taken care of, we need bathing suits and i know just the place. come on!”

          she’s sore from how much time she’s been on the ice this week and trying to take advantage of the freetime she has. however, going out doesn’t seem bad at all !! ❛ a yacht ?? ❜ she asked in disbelief. willow had forgotten how well-off the male is. ❛ i like that idea, ❜ she agreed. swimming in this perfect weather sounds lovely, but… ❛ how many people… ?? ❜ willow also tends to be more on the shy side.

this was probably the perfect time for isaiah to lie if he were that type of person, but since he wasn’t, he went with honesty. “i was going to just post something on instagram or twitter and invite anyone in the area who wanted to join in,” he admitted with a sheepish expression. isaiah knew not all of his friends here were the partying type like his other ones back home so he knew he needed to be more considerate with his plans. “but i don’t have to. it can be just you and me or a few friends, if you want?” he had lots of friends so deciding who to invite wasn’t going to be so easy but he didn’t mind.

ok her head in astonishment, “jeez, you could have just told me! i have an eleven year old sister; there is no amount of noise that could really distract me.” though she felt a bit guilty, mia also found herself giggling at the absurdity of it. still, it was incredibly sweet of him that he would just sit around simply so as not to distract her. “i’ve never been on one. aren’t they just boats? it feels like a lot of work, doesn’t it?” still, he had willingly stared at the walls for more than an hour to let her read… “fine. we can do your yacht thing. but don’t get mad at me if i say that it feels like overkill.”

isaiah highly doubted that her little sister’s level of noise making had anything on his own considering he was deaf. “no, trust me, mia, it would be loud. like, ears bleeding loud for someone with your hearing. so much so that you might actually go deaf.” he assured her. isaiah had lost count of how many times he’d blown out his expensive stereo speakers in his house because of his inability to properly hear it and it was why he switched to headphones. “well, we’re about to change that! and yes, they’re glorified boats that the filthy rich use in their dick measuring contests,” he joked, though it was true. “and it isn’t! i can just do it on my phone. no hassle.” isaiah instantly smiled when mia finally agreed. “yes! but you won’t be saying that once you actually see it. i promise you’ll love it.” he then pulled out his phone to make the reservation.

sometimes, isaiah reminded mia of lizzie. he had that same energy, that same go go go personality. it made her happy to see someone that full of vitality and life. more people needed to learn to take joy from life in that way. “no one forced you to stare at the walls,” she pointed out with a smirk, “still, i see your point. it’s too pretty of a day to waste inside.” mia shook her head, lips quirked into a grin as she listened to him. “why in the world would we need a yacht?” it was difficult to remember sometimes that many of the people that she spent her time with were rather extraordinarily wealthy. “there’s nothing wrong with it. it just feels a bit extra, no?”

“well, what else was i supposed to do? you were reading and i didn’t want to disturb you with any noise.” he defended. while his mother would argue that even allowing a guest to read a book in his house was the worst example of being a host, he wasn’t going to prevent her from having fun in the way mia liked to either. out of all isaiah’s house rules, one of his most important was, other than don’t break anything, was have a good time. “because yachts are fun! it’s got food, the perfect place to catch a tan, it’s private unlike the beach, and sometimes it’s even got a slide too.” isaiah explained. he could never remember a time in his life when a yacht wasn’t included with swimming. “and no, extra is renting out the whole beach. c’monnn, mia, you know you want to.” he persuaded.

mia looked up from her book, raising an eyebrow at isaiah’s sudden declaration. “starting to feel a bit claustrophobic?” she asked with a wry smile. he had always been hard to contain. still, mia loved the outdoors. she would never turn down the opportunity to feel the sun warming her skin. she closed her book and sat up. “swimming sounds great,” she grinned. but his next words brought laughter to her lips. “god, must you always do the absolute most? what’s wrong with just going swimming? you know, in the water?”

it wasn’t that he was the kind of guy who didn’t enjoy spending time at home from time to time, but isaiah just felt doing so would be a total waste of sunlight on a day like that one. “a bit. i mean, i love the rain and all, but i think i’ve had enough of staring at the four walls for one day,” he admitted with a nod. he’d watched the walls and ceiling for so long that isaiah was convinced he could paint them over again with his eyes closed, so he was glad that mia agreed. “what? what’s wrong with a yacht,” he chuckled with a wide smile, hands gestured outward in question. “it’s on the water too, and it’s like it going to get in the way of us swimming.”
