william laurent as born in the realm of olympus in 1658.
son of hecate and a french marquis
his early years were spent with his father, learning the ins and outs of the courtesan life until he began displaying abilities like his mother
at the age of twelve william joined his mother in hades to learn control of his abilities
growing up surrounded by gods and goddesses helped feed his attitude and ego. he’s cocky, sarcastic, and so flirty that his aunt aphrodite would be swooning.
during his time studying with his mother, he met a fellow mischief maker in the norse god loki who had come to learn from hecate.
they were usually seen together, and if you only saw one of them you knew to be on the lookout because they caused constant trouble.
once his mother deemed him in control of his magic, she sent him back to his father in paris. he quickly became the eye of many ladies of the court, even opportunities of raising his family’s position in the court were coming his way.
he ended up marrying the youngest daughter of the king’s right hand.
with the skills he’d learned from the members of the greek panthenon, william was an active member of the court and was sent out to neighboring lands quite frequently as a representative of the french monachy.
during one such trip, the ship william and his wife brielle were on got caught in a storm. the ship was sunk and will had nearly been unable to get a portal open for himself and brielle in time... sadly his wife didn’t make it. he made an appeal to his mother to let her rest in hades, brielle had been a dear friend to him and he wanted to be able to see her when he could
before she could intervene a reaper came and took her to her afterlife, probably heaven since william had never been able to magic his way in there
he then returned to hades and spent his time learning more about what his magic could do and how to use it in a fight if needed.
after enough time had passed on earth so that he wouldn’t be recognized william returned, splitting his time hosting lavish parties in paris and venice. he had no expectations to live up to anymore and he was more than willing to enjoy his time now.
over the years he drank, slept, and flirted his way through all of europe. he used his magic to get what he wanted, not caring about the consequences of it all
during this time william learned that his mother had been killed. his days of partying stopped and he began hunting down the emerald warlock to get revenge for his mother’s death.
he’d been in athens, looking for the warlock’s whereabouts, when he saw an article about thor and loki and the avengers and it piqued his interest, so he followed their activities, making sure to stay out of thor’s radar.
when he saw that loki had returned to earth, seemingly making amends, will knew he had to see it for himself, see if it was real or a scheme that will could get in on... and see if loki wanted to get in on his murderous plans.
