late nights were hardly unusual for finn, the darkness almost more familiar to him than the light of day. the group hadn’t planned anything for tonight and while most would use the opportunity to sleep, he found himself irreparably restless. surrendering to the insomnia, finn wandered into the living room of the shared air bnb with the intent of stretching his legs and maybe briefing himself a bit more on their next location. he certainly wasn’t expecting to see cassia already in the living room, the sound of his footsteps prompting the two to lock eyes before he had the chance to make a stealthy escape. it wasn’t that he didn’t want to see her ( or maybe he didn’t - maybe that was easier ), but rather that he could never quite find the right words with her. they willingly surrounded themselves with the supernatural almost every day, yet here he was, haunted by a ghost of his own. he couldn’t escape the constant reminder of what he almost had and then lost, of what he ruined before they even had the chance to begin. “ couldn’t sleep ? “ he whispered from the doorway, chewing at the inside of his cheek. “ i thought i was the only one up. “ ╱ @scriptcr
