I thought I saw the devil this morning. Looking in the mirror, drop of rum on my tongue with the warning to help me see myself clearer. I never meant to start a fire. I never meant to make you bleed. I'll be a better man today. I'll be good, I'll be good and I'll love the world, like I should. Yeah, I'll be good, I'll be good for all of the time that I never could. My past has tasted bitter for years now, so I wield an iron fist grace is just weakness or so I've been told. I've been cold, I've been merciless but the blood on my hands scares me to death.
“Not surprised. You’re not one of us.” Ashild replies. She looks at the man who was talking, before shrugging with her one mobile shoulder, and then said, “I’d definitely suggest that, or talk to my mother. She’s better.”
Yeah and he had an entire planet earth to keep safe, but that right now was deemed irrelevant. “Your Mother is certainly more approachable,” He had run ins with the God of Mischief due to his brother of course, but he couldn’t say he was eager to repeat the venture.
“I don’t think Thor would really give a damn,” Bucky said, with a shrug. “Loki takes offense if someone causes him to break a nail.” He gave another little shrug. “It’s fine. The doctors were overreacting.”
“He might. You’d be surprised how easy it is to offend the king of Asgard,” Stephen commented uncaringly. He had no interest in speaking to someone who didn’t appreciate him. “Ah yes because brain damage is a very minor issue,”
“Well, don’t try asking me then. I’ve got less magic then you right now. Apparently getting kicked out of Asgard often means your powers disappear. Unfortunately.”
“Now that I wouldn’t know anything about,” Stephen spoke despite the amount of reading he had done on Asgard. “However I can suggest talking to your father, perhaps the trickster god could be of some assistance,”
she nodded, knowing that it could lead to problems if things aren’t done right. “True someone could get distract and that could just start a chain reaction of events. Guess I should get comfortable with this place then.“
“That’s the problem with magic users who just aren’t as strong as me,” Stephen shrugged meaning the words he spoke. “I know we’re working as fast as we can, It’s just simple logic to prioritise the injured,”
“Sounds like you have a pretty lame ass power then,” Fox bit as he stripped one of the old computer terminals he had found in a storage room. “What’s your limitation anyway? Is it time or distance? Or is it the scale of the damage?”
“More like... limited,” Stephen was not going to go about explaining all the duties of the sorcerer supreme to a child. “It comes down to doing just too much in one go, I already have my mind on about a million things,”
Sam thought for a moment wondering what else could they do to patch back the school. “Not even if you had help from others who could do magic like yourself?“
“Well theoretically that could work,” He agreed. “But the idea of working with more people than myself opens the gateway to far too much stupidity,” He couldn’t control others, only himself.
Bucky looked at him with an equally nonplussed expression. “And who asked you to do that?” Because he sure as hell hadn’t. He’d never been particularly impressed with Dr. Strange, if he was being honest. He wasn’t the only one around here with gifts. “It’s good to know you’re not a god, I guess. We have too many of those already.”
Stephen did his best not to just roll his eyes at the other. It was no secret that the two of them didn’t get along at the best of times. “Don’t let Thor or Loki here you speak like that they might take offence... How’s your head feeling Barnes?” He was a doctor after all he knew a thing or two about concussion.
“It doesn’t hurt to ask,” Lila replied. “This new arrangement isn’t exactly the best option for an introvert like me."
“Trust me I understand,” Stephen found being around so many other ‘heroes’ was stressful even in the old school, now he was yet to see how he would cope. “If you ever wanted to come for a cup of tea and a place to work my office is open,”
“Look,” Stephen looked over at the other, a sort of unimpressed gaze framing his features. “If I could magic the school back together I would but even I have limits to my powers alright,”
Fox had just managed to weasel his way out of table setting duty or so he thought until Doctor Professor Strange stopped him. “You don’t understand Doc, I have a very important task. I’m the official poison tester you see, if I don’t check every single pie the entire academy could be in grave danger and we don’t want that on our collective consciousness during this holiday season.”
“Your job as it may be Mister Stark,” Stephen replied unamused by the youngers comments. “I’m sure the caterers your father has employed for this meal are more than capable than fulfilling their duties. Unless you wish to speak to the cook about your concerns for his amount of culinary skill,”
fahima looked up at the other, GOLDEN EYES narrowing. “ f i n e, “ she said with a huff. in truth, she was just hungry and wanted to see if any of the food was ready yet.
Stephen nodded glad he was at least being listened to. “Why do you want to go in there anyway? It’s a lot less messy out here trust me,”
“Oh, come on, Mr.Strange. I simply want to see what’s cooking. Is that really so bad?” SHe tilts her head and smiles widely at the other, hoping it’s enough to get her through.”
“Because I don’t believe that you won’t try and eat some of the food,” Stephen replied with a shrug. “And it’s only fair that you wait your turn just like everyone else,”
“Oh no you don’t,” Stephen comments crossing his about his chest in emphasis as he stands in the other’s path. “We have enough people crowding the kitchen without you throwing you into the mix. I’m sure there’s other things you could be helping with,”
I’m a bit late because I had the wonderful idea of applying while I was at school but hello lovies It’s Belle back at it again with a new muse Doctor Stephen Strange. Now I’m actually terrible at canon intros so apologies in advance but there’s some bits and pieces under the cut.
STEPHEN STRANGE is a PROFESSOR of NEUROSCIENCE & THE STUDY OF OTHER DIMENSIONS at Age of Heroes Academy who looks a lot like LUKE EVANS. HE/HIM identifies as MALE and rumor has it they’re MARRIED to CLEA. They’re described as DRIVEN & ARROGANT and still are a hero under the alias of DOCTOR STRANGE.
Ok I’m presuming you’ve all seen the film with beetroot cucumberpatch but just a quick explanation of who Stephen is if you haven’t
His brother and sister both died during his childhood and teenage years pushing him into medicine, he then became a phenomenal neurosurgeon at a really young age but this caused him to become really reckless arrogant and proud.
He was then involved in a really nasty car accident that ultimately ruined his hands effectively stripping him of both his career and his identity.
Quick headcanon about that: years later he does have some movement back in his hands but he still struggles with doing more than picking anything up. Buttons are a definite no while writing and zips are simply really difficult. They also ache a lot, especially when it’s cold outside and he shakes quite a bit.
He then went and spent all his money in the east trying to find a cure. Instead he found the ancient one studied under the ancient one and eventually became the sorcerer supreme we all know and love today.
Later on he met the love of his life Clea but you really are best of googling that train wreck
Now having Stephen at the academy is a strange thought because he’s also still keeping up with all his work as a guardian of earth at the same time.
When he first got involved it was more to make sure that the avengers didn’t mess everything up but he’s found that he rather enjoys lecturing though the marking not so much.
Whoever his ta is has their work cut out for them I’m just saying.
As far as teachers go however he’s a good one, especially since his passion for his subject means he doesn’t refuse answering a hundred questions at a time.
He listens to his students (mostly) and is definitely the type to bring in chocolates and things to throw at them when they get the right answer even though that’s a fact no one ever actually addresses.
Whatever you do don’t ask him about any of his or his kids achievements because he will happily gloat for hours at a time.
You want to see photos? I’ve got photos
Though He’s a bit awkward around kids who aren’t his own and definitely prefers the young adults to the sixteen year olds running around
This leads me on nicely to talk about Stephen as a Dad. He’s definitely the type to think his kids are a gift to the planet
He also spoils them rotten, because he really can’t say no to them.
#1 cheerleader for all his kids endeavours l, tho he had a terrible habit of managing to connect it back to himself.
When he’s not being too self important he is a good dad tho, and their good for him because he gets a little caught up in work sometimes.
What do you mean I can’t use magic to help look after the kids Clea???
He was also the worst when they were sick when they were little because he just went into full on doctor mode.
Stephen is 100% not here for teenage drama, but at the same time definitely has favourite student
He’s also one of the harsher markers in the school because he expects perfection
Stephen can be objective when he needs to be and isn’t afraid of making harsh decisions when he needs to meaning that he can be terribly self sacrificing.
TL;dr he’s a really arrogant nerd who loves magic and science!
