“Humans are inherently selfish--" Then why do so many cultures value hospitality, to the point of dictating it in their religions? Why is it so common for hosts to offer their visitors their best food, and as much of it as they can? At some point, multiple cultures decided that they knew what it felt like to be alone and vulnerable, and promised each other to never let those who stay with them feel that way. That doesn't sound very "inherently selfish" to me.
"humans are the plague"
No. Humans are animals as much as the fish and the bear. We are pack animals who have survived by strong bonds and community.
Do not buy the lie that humans are inherently evil. Societies can trick you into believing this, but it's not the truth of humanity.
Humans crave being together, sharing together, and thriving together.
Capitalism just wants you to believe we're destined for selfishness.
“Subverting” Catholic art? Oh, okay. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You log onto the internet and you post about how “Wound of Christ” from Psalter and Prayer Book of Bonne de Luxembourg, attributed to Jean le Noir, c.1349, for instance, looks like a vulva because you're trying to tell the world that you enjoy Catholic art and imagery in an alternative, queer, risqué way that challenges Christian beliefs. But what you don't know is that that stigma isn’t just a vulva. It's not just a mandorla. It's not just yonic. It's actually intentionally erotic. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that around 1297, Saint Angela of Foligno experienced a vision of Christ himself, who called her to put her mouth to the wound in his side and lick the freshly flowing blood. And then I think it was Saint Catherine of Siena who drank blood and a clear liquid from the wound before receiving a ring made from Christ’s foreskin? And then graphically erotic encounters with the side wound of Christ quickly showed up in the writings of eight different mystics. And then the yonic interpretation of the stigmata filtered down through the illuminated manuscripts and then trickled on down into some pseudo-intellectual corner of the internet…where you, no doubt, fished it out of some Pinterest board. However, that interpretation represents hundreds of years and countless visions of religious ecstasy. And it's sort of comical how you think that you've come up with an idea that exempts you from Christian theology when, in fact…you're posting an image that was sexualized for you by the very Medieval saints you think you’re so different than…from “subverted” Catholic art.
When you see me with that blank stare, this is where I am.
can i touch you but in a hesitant and exploratory way
When you said "He started that" when it came to Apollo, I felt that 🤣

Is there a chance of an altar tour?
What do you usually offer to Apollon?
What draws you to him?

long answer:
first and foremost i am a crow/raven/corvid/big black enigmatic bird. always have been.
he has always been here, but he never offered his name and i did not mind. i never knew where to even start looking for who this even was. being an absolute goth edgelord teenager who would think to look to the God of Light and Truth. besides we were content in the private little relationship.
he had begun manifesting in a lil guy i was doodling on oekaki boards and never stopped. y'know like the default face artists tend to develop when not drawing anything in particular. over the years he evolved and got more defined. a distinct crow guy all the way down with personality and traits all his own.
things got weird when my bestie @rifa got pulled into the hellenic pagan world while i watched bemused.... until they finally accepted Apollo and i learned about Him through osmosis and uhoh this feels....familiar. i did my own research, got familiar with the history and such. it has been a constant hey wait a minute indignant of fucking course that was Apollo things ever since.
because of this path, i dont consider myself hellenic pagan necessarily. i havent been expected to do rituals or offerings. i am Apollo's Crow. a messenger. my duty is just existing, any worship on my part is just endearing to Him. i dont even really interact with other gods bc im just crow shaped and they go ?
the only exceptions are Hermes and Dionysus, but when you've read as much as i have, you see they are extensions of Him. being a crow is so perfectly in the middle of the venn diagram of Them.
finding Apollo was like peeking behind a mask, he didnt expect it and that was fine. but he had his hands in my cage the whole time and suddenly i am the beloved rat scurrying up his arm into his face like OwO
anyway tl:dr

And when I was hanged between earth and heaven they lifted up their heads to see me. And they were exalted, for their heads had never before been lifted.
Personal piece :) The compression may be hiding this, but written on the underside of the antelope's skin is "un jour je serai de retour près de toi" ('one day I will return to your side'), which is something I have been turning over in my brain a lot as of late.
Hope you're all taking care of yourselves!!
hey handsome :)
