Incomplete || Draco+Carey
malfoy-allhailtheprince:
Scorpius quickly shook his head, green eyes wide. “No, dad, don’t apologize! I… I mean, I still have so many questions, but… but mom’s letter was enough that I understand a lot was happening that I still don’t know anything about. You… you both were trying to keep me safe. I can’t be mad about that.”
Draco couldn’t stop her tears, amazed by this little boy’s kindness and empathy, his maturity. He truly was perfect, everything about him.
When Carey returned later with Scorpius’ bags, the pair was at Draco’s round kitchen table, a plate of cookies between them, their tea having long gone cold. It was obvious that they had both been crying - matching red rimmed eyes and blotchy pale cheeks - but now Draco just smiled adoringly as her son told her about his interests and his hobbies, about his family, about Albus and the rest of the Potters.
Seeing the bright flash of green, Draco looked up, seeing Carey come through the hearth with a bag in hand for Scorpius.
“Hi, dad!” He greeted cheerily. “Want a cookie? They’re really good!”
Carey looked at the two of them and could feel the way the energy in the room was different. It was so weightless and just...happy. He felt energized just being there.
He smiled at his son, “Sure.” He took one and bit into it. “Oh! These are amazing.” He looked at Draco, “Did you make these?”

Draco gave a soft hum at her words, chuckling warmly. “Happy to oblige.” He teased, pale fingers moving to to tease up the hem of her shirt, brushing over her warm skin.
He moved farther down, teasing her shirt up higher, pressing slow kisses to her skin just above her pants.
Laya’s hands moved to tangle into his soft locks as she breathed heavily. She licked her lips, wanting so much more. “Mm, your lips feel...so nice on my skin”

“She seemed to do pretty good.” He reported, laying his bag down and kicking off his shoes, reaching down to pick them up. “Hate these damn things.” He looked back at his wife. “Sweet girl, real young. Woulda though she was a student if I hadn’t known who she was. Told my boys on the team to make sure no body tries taken advantage of her.”
Laya smiled as she watched him, “That’s really sweet of you to have them do that for her. I remember how difficult it was for you when you first started and you were still so young. I can’t remember, did you have anyone looking out for you?”

Aidan hadn’t been expecting Lucas to fight back, to say anything, and another hot flash of rage flew through him. Lifting his hands, Aidan shoved him hard in the chest, nearly sending him to the ground. “You.” He spat at him. “You’re my fucking problem.”
Lucas groaned, then growled in response to his shove. He was getting tired of his brother always picking on him and giving him a hard time. Was he this mad that Daniel chose them over him!? He shoved him back, “I could say the same thing about you!!”

Oliver moved, winding his arms around her and pulling her close. He didn’t know what to say to help, what could make this better right now - the previous night had been a lot for both of them.
He kissed her forehead, hugging her tightly. “I love you, darlin’. Please try to relax today, okay?”
—-
Aidan normally didn’t participate in his ‘friends’ antics. He let them happen, sure. But he just stood to the side, didn’t intervene, didn’t stop them.
But today, being in the packed hallways did nothing to quell the rage burning hot in his chest and stomach, the blond shoving past his classmates, sneering at anyone who tried so much as a word in his direction.
In the lunchroom, he nearly ran into someone, pausing when he realized it was his brother. He reacted immediately, slamming his lunch tray out of his hands, not to the ground, but on to him, food splattering his face and clothes.
“Back the fuck up.” He had snapped at him, not so much as glancing to his right where Daniel stood, head hung, eyes red rimmed.
Lucas could tell how much Aidan had changed, how miserable Daniel was. He was sure in himself that they weren’t soulmates. They couldn’t be. Aidan wasn’t good for Daniel...right?
As they were at lunch, he noticed how Daniel didn’t really get much, the boy completely miserable. He sighed, but was determined that he would get over it.
He groaned as he ran into Aidan, “Hey!” he shouted when the food was shoved onto him. “What the fuck is your problem!?”

Oliver was torn, wanting to March out after Aidan, seaman he apologize to his mother, to figure out what was going on with him and Lucas, why he was behaving this way.
But then he kept picturing his son crumpled in his mother’s arms, sobbing and pleading and the man just dropped his face into his hands, trying to puzzle this together.
He’d made an attempt, but he couldn’t claim to completely understand their magic. He didn’t know what removing memories of someone would cause, especially their soulmate after being rejected.
Standing, he went to the bathroom and gently knocked on the door. “Laya, baby, can you open the door for me?” He asked softly, knowing precisely why’d she’d gone in here. “I’m gonna have ta leave soon, but I… I’ll try to talk to Aidan. I promise.”
Laya whimpers softly, taking a deep exhale as she moved to the door and opened it, looking up at him with her brow furrowed. “Okay. I love you and...I hope you have a good day.”

oliver-dash:
Aidan didn’t look away from his brother who, now, didn’t seem like he could quite meet his gaze.
Did something happen yesterday? His dad said he’d fallen, his mom said he’d knocked himself out. Did he knock something out of himself, forget some altercation that had happened between them?
“He’s the one fucking staring at me.” He spat, stabbing at his breakfast, anger still plain.
“Hey. Now that’s enough.” Oliver said, voice firm. “It ain’t even late enough in the day for somethin’ to have happened between y’all. And don’t curse at your momma.”
Aidan rolled his eyes, still stabbing at his breakfast but making no moves to lift the food to his lips. “Right, forgot. Can’t say anything to baby Lucas. He’s everybody’s favorite.” Saying that cut into him for some reason, feeling like it had reopened a fresh wound. The blond clenched his teeth, the pain in his chest throbbing, but he didn’t say anything else. But he didn’t notice as Lucas looked from him to his parents, looking worried, like he was hiding something.
“That’s enough, now. I mean it.” Oliver stated again, clearly agitated with his son’s behavior.
Without another word, Aidan stood, taking his bag and throwing it over his shoulder. “Thanks for breakfast.” He muttered before storming out the front door, leaving his plate untouched.
Laya couldn’t help but feel pain as Aidan just seemed to angry at everyone. He wasn’t even being nice to Oliver like he used to be.
She tried her best not to cry in front of her boys, but she was quick to excuse herself from the table to go to the bedroom as Aidan left.
Clasping a hand around her mouth the tears fell as she sobbed silently, doing her best not to alert Lucas. Was what she done the right thing? He was alive but so, so angry.

Oliver didn’t hesitate to move, winding his arms tightly around his wife, pulling her to his chest. “He’s breathin’. I don’t give a fuck what you had to do - he’s breathin’. We’ll figure it out.” He knew neither of them could have handled losing their child, not at all, but especially not like this, not heartbroken and in such terrible pain. Ridding him of his memories wasn’t something Oliver felt good about, but his lungs were working and his heart was beating and he didn’t have to bury another child.
Hearing the front door open, Oliver paused as he looked over, seeing Lucas frozen, his hand still on the doorknob.
Did he know? Surely not. The boys didn’t get along, but Lucas knew that being rejected would condemn his brother to death.
He couldn’t say anything right now either. If he didn’t know, he would out his other son. If he did know… Oliver didn’t know how he would handle that knowledge.
“We’ll figure it out.” He repeated to his wife, voice soft, kissing the top of her head.
—
The next morning as Aidan showered, dressed, got ready for school, he couldn’t shake this ache in his chest and it was driving him crazy. He wasn’t used to lingering pain, to anything but that first blast before his powers worked to heal him instantly.
But even beneath that, there was an anger he couldn’t place either. But it was there, burning and hot and waiting to strike out. He’d always had a temper, sure, even if he tried not to. But this was different. This was almost overwhelming. And there was no reason for it.
Walking downstairs with his school bag, Aidan ignored the pairs of eyes on him as he plopped into his seat at the breakfast table, digging into the meal before him. Looking up, he noticed the way Lucas was watching him, almost hesitant, like he was waiting for him to erupt.
The sight of his brother alone was enough to make that fire burn hotter, the rage growing wild under his ribs, but he bit it back, only giving him a sneer. “What the hell are you looking at me like that for?” He snapped at him, clearly surprising everyone else at the table.
Laya held onto her husband for support, crying silently into his shoulder and he held her close. This was too much for her and their baby right now. She had to get it together.
---
Laya had finished up making breakfast in the morning, doing her best to stop that dull ache that she could feel in her son, chosing to shield herself from it the best she could.
She watched as he came down and sat, seeming a bit like himself but something felt....off. The memories of Daniel were gone now so what would happen now?
She took a sip of her juice, practically choking on it at Aidan’s words. “Aidan! I know you two don’t get along but wasn’t that a little harsh!?”

Aidan looked between them both again, trying to figure out why they were acting the way they were, why his mom was talking to him the way she was - when was the last time she called him ‘baby’? Why was his dad shaking like a leaf? “I… okay, yeah. Sure.” He muttered, pushing himself to his feet, rubbing the heel of his hand over his chest. Why did his chest ache so bad. “Alright, well… goodnight, I guess.” “Goodnight, son.” Oliver said, voice tight and unsure.
Laya watched as she Aidan disappear upstairs. She could tell that his chest was still hurting from the way he rubbed at it, and the fact that she could still feel it. But it was nowhere near the intensity that it used to be. She sighed, lifting herself up carefully and tucking her wings in before looking at her husband. “I-I’m sorry....but it was the only way I could think of to save him.”

oliver-dash:
Aidan could feel her wings and the warmth of her magic surrounding him and, though he didn’t know what exactly she was doing, he didn’t fight her, didn’t stop her, just let the soft glow calm him like it had during storms or after nightmares when he was little.
The longer she worked, the more he calmed, the more the pain ebbed away. This he could handle. If this is what dying felt like, he could handle it.
But with that, his mind suddenly felt fuzzy, blurred, like he couldn’t concentrate, like he was falling asleep.
He thought of Daniel, of him breaking out into that broad, goofy grin when he saw him approaching, of him telling him he loved him. And it felt like the memory was slipping, like it was falling away. And despite what had just happened, Aidan tried desperately to hold on to it.
And then there was just a blank, leaving the blonde wondering what it was he was forgetting. Like there had just been a name on the tip of his tongue, but he’d forgotten again.
He opened his eyes, chest still slightly aching, but there was no more pain, no more panic. He just looked confused.
Looking up at his mother, the woman watching him closely, obviously crying, he didn’t know what to say at first. He and his mom hadn’t been close since he was a kid.
Sitting up, he looked between her, then up to his dad who stood to the side watching him intently, pulling away slightly from her embrace. He was aware of the wetness on his own face and reached up, wiping it away, brow furrowing.
“What… what’s going on? What happened?”
Oliver looked at his wife, clearly confused for a long moment before he realized what she’d just done. He didn’t know what to think, didn’t know if this was the best option, but his son was alive and breathing and the color was back in his face.
“You… you took a-a nasty fall down the steps there.” Oliver supplied after a beat of silence. He couldn’t stop his hands from shaking. “Scared us.”
Aidan looked confused. “I… I don’t remember that.”
Laya swallowed, her heart breaking a little more when he pulled away. With all the memories locked, he wouldn’t remember that they had become close yet again.
But she let him go with a small smile. “You knocked out baby. But it’s okay now. You should um...you should go wash your face and get ready for bed. You have school tomorrow.”

Nothing had ever hurt like this.
Aidan was an athlete, was hard-headed and tended to jump head first without asking questions - sometimes literally. So he'd had his fair share of injuries. They always healed pretty quickly, but that didn't stop the initial onslaught of pain.
Even with that, broken bones and gashes and knocks to the head that should have resulted in some serious concussions, this was the worst pain he'd ever felt. This was the 10 on the infamous and meaningless pain scale.
It had only taken Daniel a couple of seconds to throw him away. His brother and their other damned friend had marched over, taken his soulmate with them, and completely ruined him. And the whole ordeal couldn't have lasted longer than a minute. Maybe two.
His heart was shattered, his soul...
Fuck.
He was dying.
The force of that hit him. Hard.
Did Lucas know? Did Lucas just assume they were screwing around, that Aidan was just using him? Or did he know that Daniel was his soulmate and he just hated Aidan so much that he didn't care that this would kill him?
Aidan couldn't breathe.
How long did it take? Did he have seconds? Hours? Days?
Did he have time to go fall on his knees and beg Daniel not to do this to him? Or would he die in the street before he even made it there?
This hurt. So much.
Pushing open the front door to their home, Aidan was stumbling, tears pouring down his cheeks, breaths coming in heavy, gulping, broken sobs that he was barely aware were leaving him.
How was this fair? Why was this how they were made? Because the people who they had tried to be good to, tried to show them how much they loved them...
Daniel didn't love him enough to stay with him and now he was literally going to die.
Fuck. His parents. What would his parents do? This would hurt them so badly. This would...
His mom...
Would they find out what Lucas had done? Would they hate him? Would they lose both of their sons over something so goddamn petty?
And Daniel... Either they told him the truth or... what? That Aidan had gone home and killed himself? Either way, the guilt that would put on Daniel...
Not even to the stairs, the blond couldn't walk anymore, the weight of the pain and the fear and everything crushing him down completely. Falling to his knees, his hands gripping at the material of his shirt, he couldn't stop himself from calling out, begging for his mom. He didn't want to hurt her, didn't want to scare her, but he was in so much pain and so fucking scared and he just wanted his mom.
"Momma!" He cried again, voice breaking. "Please!"

Oliver looked at his wife and froze on the spot, trying to make his damn empty brain work.
Because no. No, his son wasn’t supposed to go through this kind of pain. He wasn’t supposed to be lonely and hurt and sad because Oliver had been. Laya had been. And they had worked so fucking hard and come so far and his children weren’t supposed to suffer.
His children weren’t supposed to have their lives cut short. They were supposed to live forever.
He was supposed to give them better than he’d been able to give Cat.
Oliver was on autopilot as he moved, rising to his feet, going in their bedroom, tugging on his shoes, a jacket over his tshirt, not thinking twice about the sweatpants he was wearing.
Coming back out, he froze.
Aidan was pale, his breaths heavy and short, his eyes squeezed shut and Oliver couldn’t tell if he couldn’t breath because his body was failing or if he was having a panic attack. But either way, his son, who he’d wished for and prayed for and held and fed and taught to walk and to run and to speak his first words, was dying on the floor in his mother’s arms.
“Do somethin’. Whatever you can, do it. I… I’ll go find Daniel. I’ll explain and bring him back here a-and make him take it back. That’ll work, right? It’s got to.”
“D-don’t.” Aidan’s voice betrayed very ounce of pain he was feeling. “I don’t… I can’t m-make him miserable. I don’t want him to be. He didn’t… he didn’t choose me.” Then, in contrast, his voice suddenly weaker, softer, trembling, he heard Aidan whisper to Laya, “I-I don’t want to die, Momma.”
Oliver looked at Laya, completely helpless, needing for his wife - his strong, powerful, loving, hard-headed wife - to tell him what to do.
Laya only heard Oliver moving around, could feel the panic rising in her husband’s chest as she buried her face in her son’s hair and held him close.
Her tears were falling into his hair as she rocked her son, trying to give him some comfort as he was dying in her arms.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. He was supposed to have a family. He was supposed to be with his soulmate. Hearing the words spilling from her son’s mouth was killing her too. She wouldn’t be able to survive herself if her son died. Her whole body would be struck with grief and pain.
She looked at Aidan, tears wet and red as she met his eyes. She cupped his cheek and gave a shaky smile. “You won’t have to baby.”
Biting on her lower she pressed her head to his and closed her eyes, humming softly as her magic went to work. Her wings and light surrounded Aidan as she reached into his mind, blurring every single memory of him and Daniel and locking it away.

What did he tell her?
Even if she had accepted him with open arms and without hesitation, the fear and humiliation of coming out to her and his dad was still so fresh. Now he had to tell her that, on top of that, he’d been rejected?
Oh, yeah, and that she might have to watch her son die because he wasn’t enough. That was a nice little footnote.
But he couldn’t even voice that. Because he couldn’t breathe. His chest felt like it was collapsing, like his organs were being crushed, and he didn’t know if this was how his body had decided he would die or if he was having a panic attack or both.
He was only fucking 16. How was this fair?
But again, none of that left his mouth. Because the only thing he could manage were his great, gulping sobs, whimpers of pain and fear, glassy green eyes looking desperately at his mother for some kind of answer.
“D-Daniel-,” he tried, but the name alone set another rush of pain, hot like flames, through him, the blonde letting out a sharp cry, gripping his chest.
He heard the heavy footsteps, recognizing them before he heard his father start shouting, asking the same questions his mother was, but could still give no answer, clinging desperately to his mother.
He could sense their panic, their fear, his father down beside him now too, and he managed to force out, “L-left m… me. He r-rejected me.”
As Oliver rushed over, Laya only felt more panic. The tears were flowing so freely as she felt the pain from her son, the worry and panic from her husband for him.
Her eyes widened when she heard this. She had known for a long time that Daniel and Aidan were soulmates.
Aidan wasn’t going to make it. He was going to die at 16. She had to figure something out, and fast. She held her son close, “Baby I...I’m so sorry....” She looked up at Oliver, fear in her eyes. “Daniel is his soulmate.” She told Oliver. “We need to figure out a way to save Aidan or he’s going to die.”

Laya had been so lucky to have her life. She rarely took anything for granted.
She had a house, a loving husband and two beautiful boys to call her sons. They even had a daughter on the way. Perhaps only a few months to go for the little one depending on when she was ready.
The only thing she had ever hoped for was that her children could find what she had.
A soulmate.
They would be so lucky to find them, and find the ones that would hopefully spend the rest of their lives with. To make a family should they choose to do so like they did. Of course, she would never pressure them to do such a thing if they didn’t want it. But she liked to imagine Aidan and Lucas becoming fathers every so often.
She was in the kitchen preparing food for the following day when her heart clenched and tears ran down her cheeks. This pain wasn’t her own. No, it belonged to someone in her family.
As she heard the door slam open and closed, saw her son that was so much like his father fall to the ground and clutch his chest, she didn’t hesitate to run over to him once he called for her.
“Aidan!! Baby! Baby, what is it!? What’s wrong!? What happened!?”

He turned them over carefully so the she was beneath him now, kissing her lips, over her jaw, then slowly down her neck, taking his time to worship the soft pale skin offered so freely to him.
Laya gave a soft smile as he assured her, moving on her back as he adjusted her body. Her breathing was still heavy as he kissed her lips, her body on fire as he kissed her skin. “Mm, I-” she chuckled softly, nervously, “I never thought I’d be so...aroused like this.”

Fuck… This definitely was not how he saw his night going…
Moving her hand faster, gripping him so perfectly, Draco couldn’t hold back. With a low groan of her name before crying out in pure pleasure, Draco’s hips jerked upwards, his length throbbing in Laya’s grasp as he came.
Once the climax had finally passed, his body in the pure ecstasy of his afterglow, Draco practically fell limp against the pillows, panting softly, hands still keeping Laya close. His eyes were closed, pale lashes resting on flushed cheeks, but he gave a soft, warm laugh. “That was… Merlin, that was nice.” He said with a laugh before gently pulling her down for a slow kiss. “Let me return the favor?”
Laya watched as he orgasmed, as his face was so flush and thought of how beautiful he looked. Gods, she was falling so hard for him. But she supposed it made sense with him being her soulmate after all.
She chuckled, kissing him back before blushing. “I-I mean I would like that but don’t feel pressured to return the favor.”
