Thor smiled sadly and patted Tony’s shoulder. “I wasn’t really at the best place last time we saw each other…” He sighed, losing his mother, father, Hammer, world, brother… Multiple times, and his world was too much to handle.

“Well, I’m glad you’re back, I’ve never been date, are you sure you’re back for good? You should go get checked out by a doctor or a scientist or both… Just in case you know. Anyways, how’s your family?”

“Yea, I’m well aware.” Tony instantly remembers the crying spiel Thor had went on when talking about the Aether. Reminiscing about Asgard, his Mother, Father, Loki and Jane. The latter he didn’t even know how that came up. 

“I’m glad I’m back too.” He shrugs his shoulder lightly at the question. Tony didn’t know how death worked. It was the first time that he had died too. “I guess I’m back for good. How knows? Maybe if I do something out of pocket I’ll disappear again.” That seemed like a more plausible thing. Nothing in this world made any kind of sense. “I haven’t seen Pepper or Morgan yet. So I wouldn’t know.”

“Oh god no,” Alex scoffed at the idea of working for SHIELD. Sure, it had been around for years and had saved the world countless times, they also hadn’t been too friendly with mutants in the past. That bit was a little hard to forgive. Alex could understand where the ironed man was coming from. It had been an adjustment for all when they were dusted and came back. More so for Tony, he died a hero. It was a valiant sacrifice and now he was back on earth. “If you’re struggling with the whole back from the dead thing there’s a support group for the dusted. You’re welcome to come.” He’d seen Pepper Potts on the news and of course, Rhodey was a legend in the army. James Rhodes was a  highly distinguished officer of the United States Armed Forces and a legend told to all new recruits. “Wait, there is a guy who’s actually called Happy?” Alex scoffed. “Please tell me he’s constantly angry, that would be hilarious.” 

Tony lifts an eyebrow at the blonde in front of him. “You’re not an Avenger and you don’t work for SHIELD. So then why are you here?” He asks, looking the other up and down. “EXCEPT, that I wasn’t dusted. I selfishly gave up my life to save the world. You’re welcome.” His tone if mater of fact. How is it that there is people who doesn’t know this? Who did the guest life for his funeral? Everyone should have been there. I mean, hell, he saved the WORLD. “Yes, Happy Hogan, one of my best friends and my handy assistant.” Tony smiles a little and then nods his head in agreement. “Yes, he actually is.”

“Aren’t you supposed to be dead?” Jessica asked looking at the man. “Pretty sure I saw some cheesy video tribute to you with that Bodyguard movie song…” Jessica shrugged, her reality had turned into something out of a low budget movie long ago, she learned how to keep the surprise at bay and go with the flow.

“I agree on the descent liquor bar though, I’ve looked, can’t find any.”

“Things in life don’t always go as they should. Sorry to disappoint.” Tony narrows his eyebrows. “If it wasn’t Whitney Houston singing ‘I Will Always Love You’, I don’t want to hear about it.” That was the only acceptable song from that movie that he would allow to be played in tribute of him. “Nice to know I was thought of when I was dead though. That’s touching.”

He takes a deep breath and then let’s it out. “I’m sure you can’t. I haven’t been around for six months and this place has gone down the crapper. People not associated to the Avengers roaming around. For instance, who are you?”

If there’s one face that Bucky thought he’d never see again, it was that of Tony Stark a man he once knew only by the simple fact that his alter-ego, the Winter Soldier murdered both his parents in cold blood. But the dark haired soldier tried to put that image behind him for years… Even after coming back from cryostasis he regret not sharing a moment where Steve Rogers didn’t try to pry Tony off of him. Tony deserved every punch he could throw at Bucky… Hell he could kill him for all he cared but Steve always stepped in and that’s what kept Bucky from making true amends with the scientist. 

The common area was bleak, a path he accidentally found himself on lead him to this space… littered with someone’s idea of minimalistic yet functional. Nothing is functional about beige walls and brown couches. The bland space grabbed him by the throat and dragged him back to the HYDRA facility… He took a deep breath and let out a chuckle. “Welcoming committee? Seems like I’m the only one around here who noticed you are even here..” Tony Stark’s personality was definitely one to liven up the space. “Fury and Rogers. I blame them, they both have a sense of nostalgia burned into their subconscious that forces them to pick random items from the lost and found.”

“Seems like the running theme around here.” Of course he didn’t expect anyone to know that he was pooping back up from the dead, but it still why not rile the people up? It keeps them on their toes. Though when he turns and notices it’s Bucky, Tony mood turns a little sour. He and the former Winter Solider never got a chance to talk about the bad blood between them. Tony lashed out after watching the video and then Steve and Bucky dragged his ass across the concrete in a group effort. So, no a nice chit chat with crumpets and tea and thrown out the window. 

“Rogers is from the 40′s, the old fart has no business trying to decorate anything.” The whole place would be doused with plaid and old people colors. Green, beige, creme and ECK. “Fury, he doesn’t care as long as it’s functional.” And at least with that there’s a chance that he won’t be some knock offs. But there are times Nick has some questionable taste. “So,” Tony gestures toward his head. “How’s the noggin? Are we good?”

Maria was no longer managing the avengers like she did back before the whole murderbot wanting to take over the world incident.

Honestly she was mostly happy about it, working in Stark’s Industry was a little mind numbing compared to being a spy and working with the Avengers had been twice as frustrating as working with baby agents.

Maria was pretty sure the only strategy they knew was to ‘wing it’.

Still here she was, she had come pick up a couple of files when a familiar voice made her stop. There were very few things that impressed Maria anymore, she raised her eyevrows in surprise for a couple of seconds before she shook her head and walked towarda the couch.

“Well, we didn’t get the memo that you were coming back from life, maybe you should consider having a psychic around just in case there’s a next time.” She replied shrugging.

“And I’m not really responsible for anything around here anymore… Not since you created the murderbot that wanted to take over the world… You did sacrifice yourself to stop the purple jackass so maybe the scale is even.” She shrugged. “Can’t help you with the alcohol nor the furniture though.”

“Oh, it’s you.” Tony says when he turns his head and sees Maria standing there. There’s no secret that they aren’t too fond of each other, but she was the only one here to welcome him back. “I’m going to make sure this is no next time. Not exactly like I planned on dying, quite the opposite actually.” He really couldn’t let that happen again. Couldn’t imagine putting Pepper and Morgan through that for a second time.

“ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNND here we go. I thought we were passed that Hill. Why do you always have to bring up the past and all the messiness. It’s the past for a reason. For it NOT to be brought up again.” He scoffs. “Oh, I for SURE made up for that mistake.” Though he really didn’t. The lives lost are lives they will never get back and nothing he ever does is going to make up for that. Tony sighs and rubs his forehead gently. Of course she wasn’t going to help him. “You don’t work for either teams, so what are you doing here?”

fabian loved being apart of the avengers, because they were apart of the earthly family that he had never had before. when the avengers were forming, his relative, Zeus, had set up for him to have an influential spot on the earth so that he would be considered to be apart of the avengers. he easily bonded with the team and went on many missions and saved many people together. 

Then next thing he knew was that the team was being separated by a Registration Act. Dividing the team into two, because of differing views. He did decide to side with Captain American and didn’t know how that would put him with the other team members who didn’t side with the man. But next thing he knew after that ordeal was he was being summoned to Olympus to do things for his ‘adopted father’ Zeus. He still thinks Zeus knew of that Thanos was going to do and didn’t want fabian to be apart of it. 

to say fabian was pissed at what happened was the least you could say, even after everything was better they still lost tony. He sighed as he was in the kitchen cooking up the team some jambalaya and catfish - along with some vegan stir fry for those who were picky with their food. He jumped when he heard a voice, his uncle and the other olympians would have been pissed he didn’t hear the person form a million miles away. 

“Tony? You’re alive, mon cher?” the creole accent easily rolling off his tongue, as he walked over to tony. “I believe some of the younger avengers have did that… you know i still make the strongest daiquirs in dis here part of de town.” 

The moment he heard the Southern accent Tony had to resist an eyebrow. How many gods were here again? Not that he didn’t like Fabian, but with great power came great responsibility, which in turn brought great danger. He just got back from dying for the greater good of the world and he didn’t know if he had nine lives like a cat. And quite frankly, Tony didn’t want to test that theory out. 

But then the Southern god mentions daiquiris and well alcohol was always a great coping mechanism for him. “Surprise! I’m back, for whatever reason.” He pauses and leans his head back against the arm of the couch. “If you’re going to make me a beverage I want it drenched with berries and vodka.” The smell of the food was overwhelming too and the thought of it made his stomach growl. “And you might as well share that food you’re cooking too.”

Tony sighs, shaking his head. “Who let the children decorate? Does no one here have any sense of direction? The feng shui of this room is all off.”

Thor was walking through the compound, eyes focused on his phone, when he heard someone’s voice and looked up just to freeze in place. 

“Stark?” He asked frowning. “How is this possible? You died… I went to your funeral.” He continued but shook his head and walked over to the couch, he picked up Tony by the shoulders and pulled him up with ease before wrapping his arms around him in a bear hug, lifting him up from the floor before placing him back down.

Tony had never been his favorite teammate… Specially not since the whole robot trying to destroy the Earth thing but, Tony was his teammate, and he was happy he was there.

Tony looks over the couch to see Thor walk into the room. “That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out. You know it was an interesting six months. Floating around in the astral plane.” Where was Strange when you needed him? Because he had a few questions about that. It was a trippy ass experience. “I saw that. Yep. Crocs and all.” 

He’s just about to say something else about the offensive wear that Thor donned at his send off down the river, but then he was being lifted. And, yea, no. Not what he needed right now. The touch is a shock to his system and it takes him a minute to respond. Tony snorts a little and gently pats Thor’s back. “Alright. That’s enough big guy. You’re wrinkling the suit.” Once he sat back down on the floor, and Thank God, he gives Thor an once over. “You’ve made....improvements.” The last time he saw Thor he was sure the god of thunder was one strawberry shortcake away from having a heart attack.

The Avengers compound was great for the facilities but there was still some resentment Alex harbored. It was almost petty to blame everything on the Avengers. From the accords to every damn alien attack that came to earth but it was easier than to blame nothing. Tony Stark was not a man to be missed. Even slouched on a couch he had a presence. “I think I’m it, though I’m not an avenger.” The compound had some of the best resources and coming back, Alex needed a containment suit that could hold more power than his previous ones. “Don’t you own this place, you can change anything you want.” Booze included Alex thought though there was a decent bar down the road. Tony Stark was a billionaire, he probably wouldn’t be seen dead in a dive bar.

“Not. An. Avenger.” Tony says trying to make sense of the words. “Okay, if you aren’t an Avenger then you must work for SHIELD right?” Because, hello, that was the only people allowed in this place. Then again Tony did die, so there’s no telling what rift-raft they have been letting into the compound. “Not an Avenger,” He says again absently, tilting his head a little. “That’s a new one.”

Tony gives a nod of his head. “I did. At one point. But I died and I thought I left this place in the hands of Pepper, Happy and Rhodey and I have yet to see any of them. But you, not an Avenger, is here and I’m trying to wrap my mind around all of this.” On top of the fact that he’s BACK FROM THE DEAD.

tony remembers the snap. the agonizing pain that followed right after it before his ultimate death. he had never been more at himself than he was in that moment. he had done exactly what he told steve he didn’t want to do. he had gained so much in those five years, just to go out and do something reckless. 

was it for a good cause? of course it was. half of earth’s population was back. families were reunited and homes were put back together. well...in some cases. in his time back he has seen that a lot of people had moved on. built other families once theirs were gone. and tony can’t really blame them for that. because who would have thought that their plan would have worked? tony sure didn’t which is why he didn’t do it. not until scott came gave him the push of hope that he needed.

but now once again that hope is gone. what if pepper moved on? one fear.  the avengers...are they still together? 

CORRECTION. two fears.

he strolls into the avengers facility and he can immediately tell that there’s been upgrades. and ok, that’s fine. but the colors are totally off. he sits down on one of the couches and sighs, then he hears foot steps and as dramatic as ever he lays back on the offending couch and kicks his feet up.

“Where’s my welcome committee? There could have at least been a descent liquor bar set up. All I come back to is mismatched colored furniture.”

anthony “tony” stark was the name given to him. heir of a billion dollar company that he had to take control over at a fairly young age. alcohol was always a way to cope with things, that and any woman that crossed his path. but getting kidnapped and almost dying in the process what a big wake up call for him. living life so carefree and not worrying about anything or anyone was else was out the window, replaced with wanting to make the world a better place. whatever the cost. and boy did it come a great cost....like half the universe being wiped away and then sacrificing himself to get it back.

well, tony was dead after taking the leap of faith and snapping his fingers with the gauntlet. but somehow he’s back. maybe it’s a second...second chance.

his mind his a clusterfuck of thoughts. along with trying to figure out how he’s alive again, he’s also a bit curious as to what this merge is and how it came to be.

as he was with first working with the avengers, he’s apprehensive. most likely to mask it with sarcasm and humor to gauge their reaction.

prepared, probably not. will he fight, of course. with every fiber in his being. and as last time tony fights for the protection of the universe.
