It had been hard, the adjustment. She was so his wife in so many ways. But Harry was nothing if not a man who could close himself off at a moment's notice.

He shifted a bit in the bed, frowning, "No, the black one. The red ... didn't last very long today. Mustard from Big Belly Burger. It's why I often don't deviate."

Black was easy. Oil stains, grease, soot. Usually powered through it all.

"I like the red one," she said distractedly as she began to unhook him from the monitor. She left the pads on his chest for him to remove himself but began to wrap the wires.

She knew better than to make a big deal of things. No matter the universe, anything getting in Harrison Wells' way of science was an unnecessary inconvenience. Even if it meant nearly dying.

But he was reacting fine and seemed to be in good spirits.

"Was it the red one?" she asked, trying to think of what sweater he'd been wearing that day.

Crossing the room she picked up the data pad from his bed and began flipping between files. " Hardly worth mentioning, " she muttered under her breath. " Try that line with your daughter and see how she takes it. "

Inside she knew he was probably right, at least in their line of work, but it still upset her that he hadn't brought it to her attention. It was important that they trusted each other and he was definitely making that hard to do.

Taking a seat on the edge of his bed she lowered the pad. "Are you really okay?"

"Hartley, hey," she said as softly as she could, reaching out towards the younger man as he backed away from her in the lab. "We'll make it work. I promise. It just might take a little time. HR nods as Randolf repeats that he is fine. When he feels Randolf's hand on his bouncing leg, he smiles a bit as the bouncing slows but doesn't fully stop. "That's good... ish." He replies with a gentle smile. His anxiety level was staying the same, so that was good.

"Y-yeah.. They called me. I debated with coming or not before I settled on coming. I didn't want my anxiety to spike, not knowing if you were okay or not." He frowns a bit, directly at the nurse that had clearly ignored Randolf and his instructions on to not call HR.

The nurse glances up from the computer and looks at the two men with a bored look before going back to their work as they say, "He is your emergency contact, and it was just a precaution. Thought he should know where you were."

"And that's why I didn't want them to call you in the first place," Randolf huffed, muttering something about meddling people under his breath. He'd had it all figured out. Just go in for a quick scan to verify what he thought to be safe. There'd been no reason to worry HR. And HR worried. He'd been trying to spare him from having to go anywhere near a hospital. They didn't talk about it but they both knew how much the other couldn't stand hospitals anymore. There was no need to put him through this.

"Look, I've been cleared. It's just a mild concussion. All I'm waiting on is the discharge paperwork then we can leave. "

Harry lowers his glasses back onto his nose, blinking away the blurriness as she stops in front of him. "I am n-" He cuts himself off with a yawn and takes his glasses off this time.

"I have to get this done..." He speaks weakly and softly. He goes quiet when asked when the last time was, he ate let alone took a nap. He taps the earpiece of his glasses against his mouth and mumbles softly. She might not be his Tess, but she could get him to crumble quicker than anyone well besides his daughter, Jesse.

"Hm, what was that?" she asked, knowing he'd made another weak attempt at answering her question. It didn't matter what universe he was from, she'd always be able to call him on his bullshit. Like now. "Do I need to physically drag you to Big Belly Burger to get you to take a break and eat something?" She would have suggested a simple trip to Jitters but she didn't think a coffee was what he needed right now.

"If you don't take care of yourself Harry you won't be able to do what you need to do. And I'm not going to be the one to tell Jesse her dad died from exhaustion from overworking himself. Cut yourself a break."

HR is going a mile a minute with his talking due to a mixture of his phobia of hospitals and his anxiety slowly rising. He stops talking slowly and lets his partner pull him closer so he can sit down on the edge of the bed before he falls over and / or passes out.

"Are.. Are you okay?" He asks slowly, leg bouncing a bit. He was anxious and was trying to focus his attention on Randolf rather than the smell and noises of the ER.

"I'm fine," he repeated. His free hand reached out to rest on top of HR's bouncing leg. He didn't really stop it fully but tried to reassure him slightly, giving a small squeeze and a gentle smile. "They think I might have a slight concussion but the scan didn't show any internal bleeding. It's just a little backed up so I'm waiting on my official release papers and instructions."

Randolf watched HR as he continued to fidget. "Wait, how did you even know I was here?" His brow furrowed. Wait. Randolf let out a groan. "They called you, didn't they? I told them I was okay to just catch a ride-share back to the labs. They didn't need to call you. In fact I specifically remember telling them not to," he said, the last part a little louder, eying one of the nurses who'd taken care of him earlier across the way. The nurse pretended not to hear as they worked at their computer.

When his eyes land on the other he rushes over to him, hat falling to the floor as his boots squeak against the clean floor. He can feel tears forming in his eyes as he slips one hand into the other's. "I'm sorry, i'm sorry. You told me not to touch anything, and I didn't listen."

He hears the whirlwind that is HR Wells before he sees him. It takes him a second to register the other is calling for him before he responds. He really hadn't thought HR would make an appearance what with his phobia of hospitals after Tess... To be fair, Randolf wasn't a huge fan either.

"HR?" he called out as the other turned around after passing his bed. He tried to push himself up in the bed carefully as HR made his way over, his head still throbbing a bit. "Hey, hey. It's okay," he says gently as their hands connected. He tried to pull the other closer to the bed, get him to take a seat on the edge at least before he fell over. "I'm okay. I just wanted to get checked out as a precaution." He'd hit his head a little harder than he cared to admit.
