“Hmm, but what is life without a little danger your majesty…or a little boasting from time to time” He smiled, casually using a little magic as one of the servants passed with a bottle of the wine Daemon had been drinking and had it float on over. “Would the prince like a little more?” If Daemon said yes, he’d telekinetically pour the wine for the handsome man with the same level of control and grace as if he was using his hands. Perhaps wanting to show off to the prince because why not, especially when the man seemed to have all eyes on him.
“That I can see, I’ll just have to make sure they remain on me so everyone here is seething with jealousy, knowing I got what they all wanted just a crumb of” He hummed, one hand moving to oh so gently rest on the prince’s hip and gently brush his thumb against the fabric of his clothing. Bold to touch a prince like this in public? Oh yes, that was the point of doing it - chins would be wagging at this act alone. “Is that so your majesty, are you claiming if I was eligible to do so you’d be asking for my hand?” He asked, brow raised and smile growing on his lips as he moved just a little closer to the prince.
“Well…lest you forget your majesty, you are one of the most powerful people in the entire world and when you rule your kingdom one day…don’t forget that rules are made up and decided by the powerful, nothing stops you changing the rules” He murmured against his ear. “And forgive the boldness, but now I’ve seen what it’s like to have your eyes on me…I won’t be satisfied with just a few moments. I think I’ll be making sure your eyes always wish to find me in a crowd, that my presence alone infuriates nobles from all kingdoms because they know once I’m here you’ll forget all about them” He murmured softly. “After all, you speak of my beauty yet you fail to comment on the fact that your beauty is the kind to make a man…a mage do just about anything to have your eyes on them.”
The more that the mage before him spoke, the more that Daemon found himself realizing that he wanted to spend the rest of the evening with him. It wasn’t just because he was obviously interested in him, though Daemon would be a fool to not notice the man’s beauty, but because he was witty and clever and made for an interesting conversation. Even if nothing was to come of their interaction, at the very least, he knew that his evening wouldn’t be wasted, either. “Perhaps, but I think we can both agree that there is a fine line between just enough and too much,” the prince spoke, only to watch as the male began to use his magick to pour more wine into his glass. Truthfully, Daemon wasn’t interested in his drink anymore, but he still took a sip from his glass and nodded in the other’s direction in thanks.
Still, though, as he spoke, Daemon couldn’t help but note the way that Alistair seemed to note that it was in Daemon’s control on whether or not the two could marry, and it was something that had him rising an eyebrow. It was clear that perhaps Alistair wanted more out of this tryst than Daemon, that perhaps he was schmoozing him to get something out of it but then again... most of the people at this party were, so it wasn’t like it was out of the ordinary. A chuckle left his lips when Alistair admitted that he wouldn’t be happy with just a few moments of his eyes upon him, and he took a step closer as a finger moved to rest upon the mage’s chest.
“If that is the case, then perhaps I am done with this party, mm? Since the intention was to find someone worth spending time with, and here I found you...” Daemon spoke as he moved to place his glass of wine aside. Holding out his hand to the mage, he raised a brow in question. “Would you honor me by being my company for the evening, dear warden?”
