teddy could barely hold in her excitement and keep herself from screaming into the phone, “yes! thank you so much!” a big smile was plastered on her face as she hung up. then, she turned to the person nearest to her, “do you want drinks? coffee? anything! it’s on me!”

“ AND A COKE TO DRINK, “ leo finished off his order with a nod before proceeding down to the register. as he was reaching for his wallet, he paused, lifting his head only to nudge it towards the person behind him. “ and uh, i’ll cover their’s too. “ leo responded without meeting the gaze of whoever was behind him, a small smile gracing his lips. acts like these were far from uncommon for leo, seeing as he came from a family of means he always did his best to pay it forward. this was no exception. after finally finding his wallet in the depths of his pocket, he pulled his card out and handed it over to the cashier.
teddy stood behind the boy, ready to pay for herself, when she heard him saying he would cover hers, too. “oh,” she said, smiling back at the boy looking at her. her wallet felt a little heavy in her hand, “thank you,” she mustered her best, warmest smile. when it was her turn at the cashier she suddenly didn’t have anything to pay for, and decided to pay it forward, too, for the person behind her. then, offered them a smile, too. after they handed her a receipt, she went after the boy who payed for her. “hey, i really appreciate that. that was really nice of you.” not sure how to continue with what she was saying without sounding repetitive, she said the first thing she could think of, “i love pay it forwards.”

“good at it? so, what, you’re a chef now? and a painter? you’re just good at everything, aren’t you?” there was genuine amazement in his words, and he followed her around like a puppy would follow around its beautiful human. that’s what teddy represented to sebastian: a beautiful human. and he was the lovesick dog that tracked mud into her home and tore her favorite slippers without meaning to do anything wrong. sometimes he wondered why she put up with him the way she did, and other times he prayed to god she would never go away. without asking if she needed him to, he picked up her large box after she took out the pasta maker and followed her back to the kitchen, carrying it and placing it on the countertop. “my favorite is chicken alfredo. ..is that too basic?”
“well, when you rarely leave your house and have no job whatsoever, you pick up a lot of hobbies. painting is a passion, cooking is a necessity,” teddy reasoned. her eyes lingered on him a little longer than she intended. for some reason she couldn’t explain, teddy adored sebastian. he had become so important to her in such a small amount of time. all she ever wanted to be was near him now, and when she laid in bed at night, not able to sleep, she would wish he was next to her. the bed had suddenly felt so much colder now that sebastian was a part of her life. “it’s pretty basic,” she teased, laughing, as she turned and pulled out everything they needed to make the noodles. “but you can’t go wrong with a classic. c’mere.” she reached out for his hand, wanting to tug him nearer to her. and even as he stood close, she didn’t let go of his hand. even still, she wanted him closer. “i’ll make the dough and all you have to do is put it through the pasta maker.”

“sometimes his fun ends up in big bills,” orianna joked, leaning forward to hold her hand out to jude. when he just stared at her, she bounced her hand a bit, and the bat hit her palm as the little boy crossed his arms with a large pout. the readhead set the bat to the side, on one of the shelves in the aisle, and offered her hand out to the brunette. “do you have kids?”
teddy laughed at the girl’s joke, and looked down at the little boy with her. “he’s a little bit of a troublemaker, isn’t he?” she asked, raising an eyebrow after observing the boy a little bit. “oh, no,” she got a little awkward and nervous at the question. teddy always wanted kids, to be a mom. it was just a matter of the right person.

CLEO IMMEDIATELY RELAXED upon seeing the smile on the brunette’s lips. it was in moments like this that cleo came to realize that not all hope was lost for kindness in humanity. “ right ?? plus, the more alcohol, i feel like the boundaries for personal space get closer and closer. much to my dismay, at least. my real question is, how can someone be so oblivious to how bad they smell ?? “ cleo mused as she scrunched up her nose.
teddy could see the girl loosen up a little more, and was glad that she could help her feel more comfortable. “that’s why i tend to prefer drinking in the comfort of my own home. no creepy people there except on tv. and i’m not really one for those types of shows. but honestly, don’t most people do a breath check or something? i mean how can you really not know?”

He shrugged his shoulders and hummed. “I don’t know, I think there’s some indentation. Maybe even a bruise.” He admitted before pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “I think with more coffee in me, we could’ve avoided the whole thing.”
teddy gave the boy a kind smile, “i’m so sorry.” she repeated. it had become a bit of a habit for her to apologize, often unnecessarily. “maybe i could put some coffee in you? to help you out for the rest of the day.”
viviantrons:
Vivian had a tendency of making herself feel at home, or at least pretending she felt that way. She outstretched her legs, still feeling stiff from the flight. “I’d say we trade but I’m as good with a paintbrush as I am with a spreadsheet.– you know the typical, boring meetings, and everything but actually hanging out at TRX.”
“do you want some water? or whiskey?” teddy offered, easing herself back into her couch, and smiling at the girl across from her. “ooh, sounds intriguing. i have always wondered what the business woman life would be like. i’ve got some good outfits for it. what’s TRX though?”
Don’t know how much time we’ve got. Yeah, it could be ten minutes.

“ THANK YOU, “ cleo huffed appreciatively as she made herself more comfortable in the seat she’d settled in. rolling her eyes as she gave the brunette a nod in agreement with her words, cleo let a soft sigh emit from her lips. “ it definitely seems like the bad ones outweigh the good ones these days, that’s for sure. “ cleo let a soft laugh leave her lips at her offer, shaking her head. “ this is more than enough. i do appreciate the gesture, though, nonetheless. “
as the girl took her seat, teddy offered her a warm smile, hoping to make her more at ease than the guy she was attempting to hide from. “especially where there’s alcohol, honestly. it’s incredible how people fail to see how creepy they are. i come to drink, not dodge unwanted advances. honestly, that’s part of the reason i drink.” teddy got nervous suddenly, realizing how much she was talking, and her smile reflected it. alcohol had that effect on her. “i’m glad i could help.”

she lets out a soft laugh, nodding softly. “i feel that but still, i’m really sorry.” she’s starting to feel better, though, now that there were some smiles between them. “i do ! i’ve been painting since i was a kid. do you ? paint, i mean.”
teddy’s smile quickly turned bright, knowing they shared a common interest. “it really is ok, i think my face was starting to miss the ground anyways,” she said, jokingly, thought sort of cringed at how bad it was. “yeah! i do tons of art stuff. pretty much all i’m good at. besides breathing. though, i do have asthma.”

“You are my favorite designated driver,” Vivian agreed with a nod as she stepped inside. Teddy’s apartment was just an elevator ride away, making it a semi-constant stop for Vivian. “I need to hire someone to do all the boring business things for me.” She complained, taking the seat across from Teddy.
“oh thank you, thank you, you’re too kind.” teddy’s head tilted, a goofy smile on her face. she gestured for the girl to make herself comfortable and it didn’t take her long to oblige. “what sort of boring business stuff? i need someone to do all the whimsical art things for me.”

“see, for me, it’s the exact opposite. if it doesn’t keep me up at night it’s not worth it. what other shows are you into?”
“i don’t know how you do it,” teddy said, shaking her head, “i love my sleep, honestly. i won’t jeopardize that for anything, except maybe one person.” her minded wandered for a second before being pulled back to the moment. “i like,” she thought for a second, “almost anything? sci fi, fantasy, drama, romance. i’m a sucker for romance.”

“she’s getting quite the aim, she’ll be off playing baseball or something before i notice it happen.” with an easy laugh, lola reached across to retrieve the thrown ball, placing it back in rhiannon’s hands and drawing her attention back to the board between them. “are you sure she didn’t hurt you? they’re supposed to be helping her learn how things fit together, but i’m not sure she’s really getting that yet.” with a warm smile, the woman pointed down at the mess of blocks and balls, only a few sitting in their rightful places on the plastic board.
“you got an athlete on your hands, huh?” teddy joked, returning the girl’s laugh. she watched the little girl for a second. “oh no,” she replied, “i would hope my skull is a little stronger than the arm of a little girl.” though, there was a little bit of a sharp pain, teddy ignored it. kids were kids, and she didn’t mind them so much, in fact she really loved them. “how old is she?”
as noah climbed into the back of the moving truck he couldn’t help but find himself wondering if there were people out there who would do all your unpacking for you. was that a thing? had he just struck a million dollar idea? a sigh fell from his lips as he picked up a box and turned to step back out of the back of the truck, groaning as he knocked a smaller box down onto the sidewalk. it narrowly missed someones legs, noah frowning as he stepped down onto the road and nodded at the person before him. “sorry, these fucking trucks make it impossible not to drop shit everywhere.” he frowned, clearing his throat before nodding down to the box between them. “would you mind…?"
the car clicked behind teddy as she went to put her keys back in her purse. she had been at the store trying to buy some cake, but ultimately decided she might be better off just making her own. as she was walking back to her apartment, she passed a movie truck, and smiled a little at thought of someone new finding themselves a place at fontaine. a box fell out of the truck, near her and she picked it up, walking it towards the owner. “no worries,” teddy said smiling, handing him the box. “what brings you to fontaine?”
