The sound of the howls |James + Rhett|
Ah, it was so close. James could hear in his big paws the full moon was coming, there was no doubt about that. The black wolf was scampering around the woods, in his wolf form, enjoying the stretching of the paws he really needed. It happened more frequently in the past months that he needed to change in his fur side and so there he was, almost at dawn, wondering whether to go hunting a bit more or getting down and enjoy a quiet nap before changing in his human self. Those thoughts though were quickly interrupted by two sounds: the first was a howl. A powerful one, not so distant from where he was standing. The second attracted his attention more and that was the sound of footsteps. And the scent of fear. James could feel it and he could hear the footsteps were just coming directly toward him. He could either stay in wolf form and try to convince the human that he was not a threat or change. The wolf sighed, then James decided to change. He fell right in front of the footsteps’ owner: his muscles were still contracting in pain, he panted, but he raised the hand and said: “Don’t worry! I’m not.. I’m not gonna hurt you!”

"Why am I so fucking stupid..." Rhett spoke aloud as he walked through the forest grounds of the school. It was not uncommon for Rhett to get lost in his own thoughts and art then it was hours later. This evening, Rhett decided to go off from campus for a while and take in nature and just be present there. It was the best way to get inspiration. And it had definitely worked. However, it worked too well and now it was night time with wolves prowling and howling. And Rhett was terrified.
The last time he had encountered werewolves at night, he had been attacked. Luckily, he made it out okay, more of less. Rhett almost lost the ability to use his hand however and that was some of the darkest times for him. He was trying not to think about that as he moved through the forest, trying to avoid the howling . Rhett had been doing a pretty good job until he heard footsteps bounding towards him and suddenly, the wolf was before him. Rhett jumped backwards and before his eyes, the wolf turned back into a man. His eyes were wide with fear and anxiety but he remained where he stood. His head nodded slightly at his words, but he wasn't sure if it was because he believed him or just because he was scared, "O-Okay." He said quietly, "Are you okay?" Rhett asked, unsure what he could do, really.
