“perhaps there were plenty free when you first sat down. but to say you’ve been… immersed in whatever this is would maybe be an understatement.” her eyes flickered to the little she could see of the files laid out before him, and from that tiny little snippet it was easy for kitty to make a fair guess as to his job. she’d seen plenty of GRAPHIC things before, it seemed like he perhaps saw even more than her. what, was he a detective? just a plain ol’ officer? or something private? whatever it was, he dealt with solving crimes. kitty doubted he was trying to plan his next kill.
“it was this booth, or the one in the corner next to the frat boys. and even from over here, i can hear them way too loudly. i don’t think i’d like them any better up close and personal. though maybe their smell might distract my attention from the catcalls and other things.” she took a sip of her drink, shifting a little and waiting for a response. if she’d get any. she didn’t want to impose. just wanted… a night away. no point getting into an argument. “sitting here might at least stop the guys talking to me again. though the free drink was appreciated, i have to say. that was nice.”

After doing so, he notes the ‘frat boys’ from across the room who occasionally send glances. They were, in fact, very loud. His gaze drifts back to the brunette, “ So, essentially, I’m a source of intimidation? ” He asks with a raised brow, before picking up his own glass. “ And free drink or not, they should know better. ”
