asgardiandronningâ:
Eyes narrowed at the man, she raised a hand and slapped him across the face. Soft words never worked for her, well, unless it was Fenris- but Fenris listened to her no matter what tone she used. What she learnt from Odin though was the only way to get through to someone was force.    So, she slapped him.    H a r d.
âPull yourself together, mother or sister, we are still family. I will not have you talking to me this way, let alone behaving!â
The last thing he happened to be expecting, though regardless he found himself still unable to drop the anger or in fact the rage. She had no idea...none at all, perhaps she was more like Odin than she wished to be. Either way all he could offer was a snide smile.Â
âAmusing you think I care...family stopped meaning anything to me the day I found out what I was; iâm afraid my...behaviour...is simply the way I am.â His words soft but in a far from warm way.Â
asgardiandronningâ:
Her heart fell, but Hela didnât show it. She merely pushed through, allowing the young man to get his rage out some before she spoke. âItâs just a theory, Loki. I could be wrong.â However everything was adding up just too well, a few gaps were missing⊠but Frigga could fill them in easily. Or, she can just tell her that Loki was not who she thought he was. He could very well just be an adopted little brother.
âThink about it, Loki. I have nothing to gain. No reason to manipulate you.â
He was the embodiment of rage: tierless anger and hurt from the years heâd grown up..been lied to, the years heâd grown up believing he had just as much right to the throne as his brother and yet only ever asking to be treated equally. Odin could NEVER do that; what was he but some halfling monster and offspring of the enemy.Â
âNor did he...-â his words dark but truthful; Odin couldâve been honest, even if Loki remained no more than a relic to the man..the truth...even the parts heâd clearly left out couldâve been told. âYOU ARE NOTHING TO ME.â The darkness continued to spread in his words. âWe are not kin, weâre not...that and we ARE NOT FAMILY.â Loki spat.Â
dcstrcycrâ:
âNow, now, Trickster,â Elara mused, adjusting her stance so she stood in front of him, a cautious but nurturing look coming across her face, âI know what you did to this city last time, and if you really want people to let that go, we shanât have any repeats of any sorts, right?â She tossed him a comforting look, as though her eyes could turn amber at any moment to ease his frustrations, âPerhaps target one of the mortals they despise the most. If you really want the masses, try for a public figure. But only one.â
âI make no promises..-â While he wasnât planning on murdering any human that walked by, he certainly couldnât say he wouldnât find something to help pass the time here on Midgard. âMy mood tends to dictate my actions of the best of days...though I suppose some personal growth is evident since I have not murdered anyone in my time here.â A brow raised though it seemed like a fairly good idea if you asked him. âTempting...-â if you minded the pun, it certainly was.Â
asgardiandronningâ:
Hela shifted on her feet, finding the courage not too easy to gather up. Still though, she managed, and locking eyes with Loki, she spoke. âBefore I was imprisoned, I had a son. With Laufey.â It was not planned, it was merely the way she got the Frost Giants to aid her in battle. She would not admit that though, Loki most likely would start hating her as it is with having gotten herself banished, leaving him to the giants⊠and worst, Odin.Â
Still, she wasnât her father. She would hold no secrets.Â
It were as if a mixture of shock, anger, pain hit the young God all at once even in the moments he had remained frozen to the spot. âYouâre a liar...-â he spat. She needed to be lying; that was the only way he could deal with this. âADMIT IT!â he almost screamed the demand at her.Â
âYou are just like HIM...-a liar..a-a manipulator.â he spoke in nothing more than deep seated anger, as if adding the dots that he had was now only fueling something that still laid deep within him enough so that just about every object not bolted to the floor now lay in a mess due to the outburst. Glass smashing, objects breaking as they hit the floor.Â
asgardiandronningâ:
âDo you want my theory or shall I get my facts straight first?â She questioned, not seeing any reason why she would lie. If he wanted the truth, or what she thought might be the truth, she would give it.Â
âWhatever the results may be,â Hela added, cupping his face. âWe are still family.â
âIf that is so, then family should not keep things from one another...-â truthfully his expectation, was some sister of Odinâs perhaps, that made sense; he was positive one of them would be insane enough to sleep with a Frost Giant and he expected that her saying such would have no effect over him.Â
He just needed it out.Â
ofcivilityâ:
She wondered just how many MidgarâHUMANS that he knew. Her lips pursed, an odd comment. After all, that break up was more then a decade ago. Over two decades, almost. Wow did time fly. At his words, she laughed. âHarry Potter references? How do you evenâ never mind that.â her arms crossed over her chest, giving him a wary look. she had to be wary. there was no other options to be around Loki. Whether he saved her life or not, seeâHE SAVED HER LIFE. It was easy to forget in all her anger. He did save her life. Her suspicion loosened, as did her wary expression.Â
âThe past.â That felt like a shock to the system. Why hadnât she even consideredâ well, she was never known to think when she was angry. Put the anger away. There was no reason for it, not yet, he hadnât done anything besides being obnoxious. âSo you have no idea what happened to Thor then.â Had she be hoping he had? Damn. âWaitâWHAT? Asgard is no moreâyou have a sister?â It sounded like a soap opera almost. She gave him a brief glare at his last words, annoyance clear on her expression. Then, finally, his words dug in. âYou helped Thor save Asgard.â Despite herself, despite her utter aggravation with Loki⊠a smile tugged unwittingly at her lips. âYou guys fought together. On the same sideâŠTOGETHER.â She almost wished she could see it, how happy it must of made Thor.Â
âUnfortunately not, so if you see the big oath do feel free to send him me way.â He wasnât and possibly wouldnât ever find himself living with the possibility that his brother may be dead, as much as they had their differences that was the last thing Loki wished. âOlder sister that Odin locked away, rather common with the people he calls children apparently.â To him it was easy to shrug it off, he believed the Asgardians were safe and they were certainly the heart of all Asgard had been. Somewhere else would be found and Asgard would be restored...or that was how it was supposed to go. âDonât speak of it like that, youâll make me wish I hadnât.â A sarcastic joke of course but a point nonetheless. Â
ofgolemsâ:
âI could offer a few more examples but I might be biased.â Lottie knew that her mother still loved the ape head but Lottie was a protective sort of daughter. Jane would tell her that she could fight her own battles but it didnât stop Lottie any. âMy brother and sister are around here somewhere. Iâm sure theyâd be thrilled to meet you. My mother not so much.â She couldnât speak for the others but Lottie happened to be mystified of the tales her mother so seldom told of Asgard and the dumb asses who came from it. A grin danced itâs way onto her lips as she turned in the chair. âThere are far and few things which I did not get from my mother. She doesnât particularly like you so⊠Wanna sit in the story circle and tell me why? Donât mind Bob. He doesnât bite.â Lottie spoke of the golem standing behind her and while its features were unseen Lottie could feel what it was thinking. I donât trust him. Luckily Lottie didnât either. âPretty please?â
âAnd I certainly enjoy your version of bias..-â Even if he did get along with his older brother now, he wasnât going to limit himself the chances to hear some of the less than friendly terms people had for him. A shrug followed, with good reasoning of course...somehow Loki was surprised she hadnât warned her kids from approaching any strangers with his name just to be certain. âI have seen creatures far more fearsome than your...friend here. So I have little issue with Bob.â He confirmed as he took a seat, theatrically so of course. The trickster enjoyed being dramatic when he got the chance and he certainly couldnât wipe the smirk off his face. âLetâs just say when I visited New York a long time ago, I was a little...less..than friendly and I had my reasons....though I am sure your mother will fail to mention that I did save her life and she would be unaware of the new leaf I turned in saving my own people when our planet was being destroyed.â He wondered if he should do a play on Midgard about it, it would certainly be fun.Â
asgardiandronningâ:
Hela sighed, looking over at her brother. ..Maybe brother. If she was right.. What would happen? She might be able to pull off being a sister, but something more? And a better mother than Frigga? That was an impossible task! Hopefully she really was wrong, even though it made so much sense.. And so little sense. By the norns, maybe she was going insane by spending so much time alone!Â
âIf Iâm right, then I hate to say it, but you would still have blood ties to Odin.â
Loki couldâve worked it out if he tried but the mention of Odin brought nothing but a bitter laugh from him and nothing but the urge to know nothing more. It felt far better to him that she was insane, that was he remained no more than heâd always been and his anger at Odin could remain as it was.
âThen I certainly hope you are insane...-â his words seemed to get darker toward the end, the grip on her arm loosening as he most certainly stepped back. âHow? I think I would be well aware if I remained related to him.â he was still chuckling, to anyone else he was sure he would appear mad...not that he minded.Â
ofgolemsâ:
It almost made her laugh to hear that. He was forty nine going on a hundred if she could guess his age. He sounded far too older than her guess could ever be. âI get the point but maybe not include the cockroaches thing if youâre so worried about them judging you.â If anything it would make them judge him faster and harder than before. âJust a suggestion.â Her book was now discarded and her attention fell completely on the other. Her golem didnât like that.
Her eyebrows rose just slightly when his attire changed and she clapped her hands together. âItâs a start I guess.â Lottie wasnât prepared for what heâd say next. Not even in the slightest. She was a woman of science (and magic, of course) so now she knew how her mother felt when she found Thor. âThatâs why youâre familiar. My mother dated your brother before she dumped his dopey dumb ass.â Lottie laughed even with how mean she was being toward the blonde god. If he were there sheâd still say the same thing. âCharlotte Foster. Nice to meet cha, I guess.â
âDopey & dumb..-â he nodded as if contemplating how good they were in describing his older brother, when in fact he had and would probably continue to use such descriptions himself. âI couldnât possibly describe my brother any better than you just have...though it feels rather strange to know Jane has children.â It was, though in a far more intriguing way that the trickster felt a need to admit. âAnd you, Charlotte Foster....you certainly carry your mothers fierce personality.â If she slapped him now that would only make him completely smug about the whole ordeal.Â
asgardiandronningâ:
ââŠYou might have spoke too soon,â She closed her book, putting it down on the table before moving to get to her feet. âI must speak with our mother. I must be going insane.â Right? Loki was⊠And she.. If her gut feeling was right then⊠   How? How did Loki get to Asgard? Was this Friggaâs doing? Odin would never..Â
Not bothering to say anything else, Hela quickly headed towards the door. Frigga would know, she would not lie. Not about this.
âWhat on Midgard ar-..â he shook his head, confused by whatever revelation sheâd had and heâd certainly had the truth hidden from him far too often to just allow her to walk off.Â
Grabbing a hold of her arm he gave her a look, he couldnât understand any of this and he needed to. âI have been lied to by the people iâve called family far too much. Tell me what is making you insane or at the very least stay and finish the book; Moth-.. Frigga will not be going anywhereâÂ
asgardiandronningâ:
âDo you know your birth mother?â He couldnât be a full Frost Giant, she had been around them long enough to know their young and how they grew- Loki wasnât like that. Whatever else he was, was surely something just as powerful if not more in order to have him not have her second guess he wasnât a true son of Odin. Or maybe it was a part of her that always knew, and deep down did not want to face the truth? She had spent over an entire millennia to get over the lost of the life she created, and the mystery of why she never came across it while ruling Hel.. Even through her search and conquest over the rest of Niffleheim.    No sign, none at all- till now.
   â..Loki, how old are you?â
âNo, though I suspect things cannot get much better considering the current predicament with parentage.â Heâd assumed it would have been their DNA was the reason Loki appeared...well less like a Frost Giant but it was also their genetics that meant he was left to die at birth. Loki had let such things fade, there were far more important things to occupy his time now. Including that the younger versions of Frigga & Odin were running around.Â
A chuckle escaped him. âA rather blunt question...they consider it rude to ask another their age here on Midgard and I believe weâve only just gotten over the recent fratricide..â he proceeded no less. â1053, though I donât believe I look a day over 1000.âÂ
ofgolemsâ:
Everywhere she looked there were people complaining about something or the other. The figure behind her stood silently but she could hear it even with the robe and shadows hiding itâs face. It was silent⊠Except mentally. Lottie laughed at itâs outburst before her eyes landed back on the strange man. He seemed vaguely familiar but she couldnât place him quite just yet.
âIâd ask if you are one but since the neighborhood hasnât been filled with frogs who used to be childrenâŠâ Lottie pointed out before flipping to the next page in the book she had been reading. âMaybe theyâd appreciate you more if you didnât dress like youâre a funeral home caretaker. Just a thought.â Despite having been reading a book she found her attention falling upon the other. âWho are you anyways?â
âI prefer cockroaches but yes...your theory counts I suppose.â Or maybe it just proved heâd changed in some way; the Loki that had come to New York all those years ago wouldâve killed anyone on sight and certainly wouldâve turned a Midgardian child into whatever his mind could fester up and now...he was like some bitter old man.Â
A shrug passed, he rather liked the suit though if she insisted...he happily changed his appearance to now be that of his Asgardian attire. âAnd would they prefer something a little more like this...or do you reckon they would still point out some indifference.â It wasnât a question, they always would. He was an Alien after all.Â
âLoki of Asgard.âÂ
asgardiandronningâ:
Adopted? She could see Frigga doing that, Odin.. not so much. It was most likely their mother who talked the old man into keeping the little boy and-    Her face fell, the words falling flat on her tongue. Laufey. Laufey. The Frost Giant. The man she-
ââŠ.Laufey is your father?â Hela questioned, voice sounding much weaker than he had ever heard her. Her face too, was much paler- making her look even more like death itself.Â
âYes, an unfortunate truth I know but the truth nevertheless.-â and one heâd had to find out on his own, in battle against the Frost Giants...when an accidental touch had caused him to turn blue. He was peering out of the window only to glance over at her by accident.Â
She certainly looked like the revelation had taken her back, âNot a fan of Frost Giants?â Nothing more than curiosity behind his questioning, he wondered what she was afraid of...if anything at all.Â
asgardiandronningâ:
@ofxtricksandrequiem
âFrigga isnât your birth mother,â More than a statement than a question, Helaâs green eyes looking over top of the book she had been reading. She and Loki had both been reading in each other company, drinking tea he brewed. However the question had been on her mind ever since she saw her mother the other day, how unlike she was of Loki.. He did look faintly like her, and their father, butâŠÂ    Only faintly. Not like Thor. Not like her- actually, a lot like her. He looked like her. How could that be? Did their father really missed her and raised his youngest to fill in that hole she left? Or maybe it was more of their mother? She was more of the one who would care, and would openly accept any young babe..    âDid you know that?â
A true statement, though in some ways he felt as if she would always be his mother...that he would always have a soft spot for her. But he couldnât see what that had to do with anything, only raising a brow as he peered over the book heâd been giving the majority of his attention to.Â
âI am aware.â He nodded, shrugging subtly before he placed the book down on his lap. âThough that does tend to be the case when you are...adopted..â Often adopted felt too kind a word and stolen too rough. He was taken as no more than a possibly item of peace. But Frigga had loved him in ways she didnât have to...perhaps that spoke far more for her.Â
...âI met Laufey once, he seemed far worse than Odin...though both were perhaps awful in equal measure.â Loki shook his head, bringing himself forward from his thoughts. âWhere are you going with this?â
ofcivilityâ:
âYOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.â The last Asgardian she wanted to see, like ever. Betraying Thor, trying to kill him, trying to enslave Earth, the battle of New York⊠and here he was complaining about people calling him a witch, a sorcerer. âArenât you one, though? SERIOUSLY, are you gonna stand there with a straight face and say you arenât magically inclined?â She challenged.Â
She wondered if he meant Thor. With his gold hair and all, but, she found herself unable to care. Thor wasnât here right now, and she was angry for things beyond his behalf. âWhat are you doing here?â She exclaimed, venom in her tone. âYou diedâ OR are you one of those people from the past?â
âAh...my favorite Midgardian. How are things? I hear you dumped my dear older brother.â After all the last time heâd seen the woman had been far before he and Thor had settled their differences...not too long after Odinâs death. âOh I am very magically inclined but I prefer my name over the derogatory name children use...-since witches to them are fictional characters sorted into houses.âÂ
A chuckle passed, strange how angry she remained and yet his brother was nowhere in sight. At the time heâd last seen her heâd had sympathy for her...even for his brother; to love someone that you were to outlive by a rather large margin was a tragic tale at best. âI survived, though I am also from the past...far more happened after you and Thor departed ways...-â A smirk came to pass his lips, though it soon came to pass at the thought of his fallen home. âOdin is dead, I aided Thor in saving the Asgardians from our rather nutty older sister and Asgard is no more...-but do feel free to continue the hateful gazes, you know how I LOVE THEM.â
bone-affied-cuchulainnâ:
@ofxtricksandrequiem A new recruit, specifically testing one. The Inner Circle was looking to up their game, and the way to ensure that was to ensure the lethal nature of all those that joined, apparently. Asgardians, as far as Cu knew, were not the sort that enjoyed tests, but he wasnât exactly making the rules of their little group.Â
Perched up on one of the towers, as a Goshawk, he kept a keen eye on the surrounding area with interest. As his dark haired companion came into view, nearing their meet-spot, he quickly leaped from his perch and glided down through the various wires and down near the sidewalk. Just after landing, a series of cracks and and shifting organs faintly echoed about them as his bones reconfigured themselves. Once it was done, he stood, âLoki, right? Oi âear yer a new one ta the Circle.â
âAnd perhaps an old one if all the circle happens to be is a group of birds...-â Sarcasm of course, being that he could create illusions that changed his form he indeed knew when he was stood before a shapeshifter but he was not about to be anything but himself since he had offered his allegiance to them...they hadnât come and asked...he certainly hadnât begged either.
And with his suspicions confirmed, the trickster offered a smirk. âYour version of changing form looks and sounds far more tedious than my own...does it not hurt at all; I can only expect the movement of organs or cracking of bones is not something you get used to?â
