i REALLY like how zac just clearly fully checked out once comfrey died. he just starts going like, what's happening? monty or van ask him what he's doing and he says i- i don't know. pappy throughout this season has been so incredibly calm and collected. a pillar of coolness. aloof and unyieldingly measured. and here is a moment where, for the first time, he just seems like an old, old man.

This killed me. He was so quiet compared to usual after she died - how could he not be? Every time Zac was in character he just looked so forlorn it broke my heart

There was something so perfectly satisfying about Zaeth getting out of trouble not by dodging responsibility like always but by owning it, by saying “this was my choice and I had the right to make it, because this is my fucking town.”

zaeth actually being a good prince was not on my bingo card- the IH obviously elected him as kind of a joke, but I really love that Zaeth is really coming into his own about responsibilities, and taking charge. he's doing the clean up, taking the blame, and while he lets others scheme, he makes sure noone really gets left behind.

Okay, but like...

Zaeth isn't afraid of Koschei, because he loves and trusts him. All his mouthing off and not caring and lack of ambition... Koschei let him be that way, gave him the room he needed to grow. He saved his ass when they wanted to kill him and the rest of the coterie in San Francisco.

And that's why Zaeth is always up front with him, and gives it to him straight. Does some attitude come with it? Hell yeah, that's the Bruja way, but Koschei has never given him a reason to think he needs to lie about a situation. And that's why he has no problem telling him that Ermine arrived in Purpee, and was subsequently killed. As Prince, he steps up and takes the responsibility, like he said he would, and is actually rewarded for that honesty.

It's good storytelling.

There’s something really special about Zaeth and becoming Prince. Like his whole thing of just not giving a shit and always has to be a wild card

Suddenly in a town that is just as wild and of course he finds himself right at fucking home. Just getting his unlife together; kicking ass and taking names! Both calls with Koschei were fucking amazing. But he still goes and is throwing dumbbells in the basement.

to me zaeth is the character that zac has always been meant to play. he’s getting his life together but he’s still stupid as hell. he’s an asshole but it’s mostly for the bit. he’s stuck in the 80s. he doesn’t care at all but actually he cares so deeply. because if there’s one thing a zac oyama character is going to do, it’s love their friends so deeply and profoundly whether or not they’re willing to admit it.
