It's interesting to see people being upset with Aang in the movie when the entire gaang trusted Tagah and was on board with the mission in the first place to 1) stop the denied from getting the staff and 2) so they can bring airbenders back into the world. Sokka is the one who told Tagah welcome to Team Avatar. Zuko said that they could finally put the world at balance. When Tagah said he knew where to go for the staff Katara was the one who said let's go. It was when they hit the storm that they had second thoughts. That's also around the time when Katara started having doubts about Tagah. I've seen people say she knew from the beginning but she didn't.
