While not many people believe in those old myths anymore, priests of this shrine still practice onmyōdō because of their high spiritual power. It's not surprising that a lot of family members were assigned to saniwa duties in the past, right?
In todays time, they focus on astronomy and the spiritual world - including fortunes, banning yōkai and various methods of divination. Fuyuki, the younger brother is said to be able to read fortunes too! But if you ask me, it's less because of the cards he uses but more because of his own powers.
Using these, especially in summoning, purification or trying to foresee battlefield conditions, wears him out often - that's the part where Yūji comes in! He's a tall man, muscular enough to carry everyones' worries!
The Honmaru grounds are viewed as temple grounds for them too, since it's connected to the normal worlds' shrine. So as long as you're respectful, you're welcome anytime!"
