The wind tugged at your hair as you took the final steps up the mountain hill. Your husband Aegon was trodding his steps behind you, an endless string of filthy curses falling from his cruel mouth. Your husband- the words were bitter to you, withholding none of the implications and meanings you thought when the time would come. Instead youâd landed in the claws of the future king, a boy with hatred and unwillingness swimming in his eyes.
âThis fucking mountain is endless. What are we even doing here?â He asks, for the umpteenth time. Your jaw ticks violently, lucky your back is turned to him so he wonât notice the cross of defiance in your features. He always noticed. There were always consequences.
âItâs a hunt, my husband. The animals flee to the mountains, here is where we will have luck, if any placeâ you argue, trying to sound complacent, though it burns on your tongue. You feel his eye roll as you lift your skirt over a root, squinting against the horizon, the quiet water below.
âYes thank you, wife. Iâm not fucking stupid, am I? Why do you even care about the hunt? You shouldâve stayed with Helena and⊠dallied about instead of interfering. Youâre no good here.â He says with disdain, and he smirks when your shoulders tense. He likes riling you up, likes reminding you of your standing. Future queen, but his bitch no matter what.
Crushing a beetle under your boot, you turn, hair sticking to your lips. âI like spending time with you.â You say, the words so flat and useless that he laughs, and steps closer, your heels digging into the hard ground. His eyes turn amused and evil, but before he can utter a remark or put a hand on you, you put a finger to your own lips to shush him, pointing into the treeline. A stag. Brown, fur smooth and golden like it has never seen a rough day in its life.
You watch as Aegon reaches backwards slowly, grasping for an arrow. Something defiant curls up your throat, and your own hand reaches for one of two gifted daggers sheathed at your thigh. Itâs barely a conscious decision. He isnât a good hunter, heâs lazy and lacks the will. But youâve been throwing daggers at an imaginary vision of him with every moment of solitude you could find in the yards, ever since you were taught how to aim.
He shoots, the arrow striking the stag's ear, making it whine and bolt. But youâre quicker, flicking off the dagger half a second after his miss, itâs stone catching in the last sunlight. It strikes a tendon in the throat. Aegon snaps his head back, eyes wide. The stag isnât dead; your blade wasnât long enough for its thick skin. It's wailing on the ground and you use Aegonâs stupor to grab an arrow from his back and seize his bow. You manage to send the arrow just before he rips the weapon from your hand and shove you hard with his other. The breath knocks from you as your palms scrape the ground, back snapping against a swollen root. But the only cry heard is yours. The arrow hit, the stag lay silent.
Your nerves fight to hold off the smile that smother your lips at your own capability that so rarely got to flourish. But the consequences followed within seconds.
âYou cuntâ Aegon growls when his brain finally catch up to what happened, how his wife, who wasnât even supposed to know how to wield a weapon, has bested him in his own hunt- has slain the animal before him. Not a rabbit, not a mouse but a stag. A king.
Every tendon in his body strains, his veins popping as his eyes turn wider and manic with a fury you never hope to be aimed at you. Already youâre wincing as he grabs your collar and sweeps you to your feet with a violent drag.
âHow the fuck do you even know how to use a dagger like that?â He asks but interrupts himself, slapping your cheek hard. You feel your teeth ache, a warm metallic taste pooling in your lower mouth.
âAemond taught me onceâ you say, and itâs so stupid because you know the words only set him off further- any mention of Aemond did. He growls, his teeth barred and breath warm as his nose touch your cheek, your head turned and eyes closed, awaiting punishment. This isnât a predicament you hadnât been in before, but outright shaming him like this was new.
âYou spend time with my brother?â He asks with a downturned, disgusted mouth before he looks to the stag, reminding him of more important matters. And you hadnât really spent time with Aemond, not more than that one time he found you throwing knives at the ground and had taken it upon himself to make sure you could at least hit the target. Later youâd found two daggers with a sapphire I crested in the hilt, under your pillow. But letting Aegon think there was more to it, wasnât your biggest concern right now either. Your own eyes follow his to the defeated animal, the pride unable to be contained in your chest but heâs quick to seize it, digging the rough pads of his fingers into your cheeks and turning you to face him. He enjoys the way you wince.
âIf anyone asks, that was my dagger in the beast. You had nothing to do with thisâ he says, and you hear the urgency that lies under the harsh command. The insecurity; Imagine the realm found out, his mother and father, that he was too slow, that he missed, and that his bitch wife handled it for him. His cheeks redden with fury and imagined shame.
âI will do no such thing. That stag is mine to claimâ you say, anger and untamed injustice rising up your throat, making your hands fist, nails digging into the softness of your own palms. He huffs and it turns to a laugh as he seems to remember the extend of free will his position gives him. He pushes you backwards. Back and back until the wind claws at your skirts and your heel tips into nothingness. The edge is right there, his hand bunched at your torso. You reach for your second blade, but heâs quicker, fear halting your movements at the worst of times. It gets thrown somewhere behind him as both your hands hold onto his arm. âYou wonât.â You said, almost certain. Almost.
âI donât need you, you do know that right? Youâre here, so I have someone to fuck an heir into. You think you can undermine me? What if your eagerness got the best of you? Made you miss the edge of the mountain because youâre a bit simple in the head, perhaps? Wouldnât put it past you.â He says, low and pleasurable. He revels in this power.
âThey all know Iâm smarter than you, Aegon . Even the king. And all his subjects, too.â You hiss, eyes burning with fire and tears. He flinches visibly and poorly masks it with a steely gaze.
âThey also know that if they dare speak against me, they will all die. So letâs see who they believe, hm?â
He lets go. Not just that, he pushes, his shoulder moving forwards with the might of it. Your lungs seem to shrink to nothing, a flat vacuum as the air embraces you. The sky is bright as you reach for it, but itâs futile, itâs all you can do as your heart plummets faster than your body. It hurts, all of your nerves punished by physics, by the surface of the water that barely seems to break for you. It engulfes, adds shock to your already endangered system. Thereâs nothing and no one to reach for, the water rippling slower and slower, forgetting the memory of your body. Soon everybody will, you think.
Then something seizes your hand, and you think it might be the stranger thatâs come for you. But this is a face youâve seen before, youâre certain even in your half conscious state.
Sand and gravel crunches under you where you lay. Instead of opening your eyes to the sky, youâre met with Aemondâs face. His mouth is drawn tight as he slaps your cheek lightly.
âWake upâ he says, he commands, but itâs not rough, more so a little urgent. Your body instinctively heaves, lifting to your elbows as sea water spills between coughs. He runs a hand over his own face streaked with droplets, dripping from his nose and chin his other hand on your back.
âDid you fall?â He asks and squints towards the mountain where heâd seen your familiar silhouette go down like a marionette. He didnât consider if saving you was stupid or smart, heâd moved on instinct into the water. You struggle to regain speech, itâs as if the entire ocean now resided in your lungs. He sighs with a familiar twitch of his mouth, sitting back on his haunches. Then he grabs your wrist, turning your hand to see the bloody scrapes of your palms. His visible eye slowly looks up at you, and your expression is enough of a tell for him.
His nostrils flare, jaw rhythmically tightening as he looks up the mountain side again. âBastard,â he says before standing up decisively and pulling your forearm. You stumble into his leather clad chest, his chin dipping down to look at you with⊠something satisfied or intrigued, you think.
Your hair is heavy with water, and the first step you take makes you wince, your entire back aching from hitting the water from so high. He hums as he assesses you, hand still holding you up. âIâll take you back to the castle. Huntâs over.â He says. You havenât uttered a word yet. He doesnât seem to care.
Wind nearly knocks you again as Vhagarâs wings disrupt the sky, his talons taking place on top of trees like they were pebbles, crushing them with splintering noises. It doesnât phase Aemond, his eye doesnât squint even slightly as you observe him. Though he does step in front of you, a hand on your waist to cover the worst of it from your already damaged state.
âIâve never been on dragon backâ you mutter, voice garbled and broken. Small, and you hate it. He whips his head around to face you. âAegon never took you?â He asks and you raise a brow.
âHe just tried to kill me. No, he hasnât taken me on an adventure ride.â You say flatly, still managing a sliver of wit that makes a sole corner of Aemondâs mouth tug upwards.
âSeems he didnât succeed in killing your attitudeâ Aemond says and extends a hand. You hesitantly grab it. âAs an apology for my brothers⊠behaviour, let me take you home on the largest dragon in Westeros.â He says with a more prominent smirk. Your eyes narrow, a playful lilt despite the pain still dominating your limbs.
Getting up Vhagar didnât prove to be an easy task, especially not with water filled shoes and bloodied hands. But with Aemondâs graceful help, you manage your way. Itâs clear he knows his way around the creature. His body presses firm against your back, and you stiffen when his lips barely brush your ear. âHold on sweetheart.â
Being thrown from a mountain and then riding the largest dragon across forests. This day you were certain to remember, if you lived to see others.
His stride was quick through the courtyards, into the vast hallways. âWhere are we going?â You ask. He pauses with the way your voice is metres behind him. With a sigh, he walks backwards before lifting you by the knees and back to carry you, since you canât seem to match his pace. He doesnât care who sees. He likes the maids and guards looking, like catching their eye to watch their flustered stare meet their own feet instead.
âYouâre heavy.â He says with a smile, still looking ahead and your eyes narrow sharply.
âIâm wearing soaking wet gowns.â You snap back, and he huffs barely through his nose.
âDid your humour get lost in the water, princess? I could carry you with a single hand if I wanted toâ he says, his voice sharp as well, glancing down at you with a firmer look.
âJust because your dragon is grand, doesnât mean you areâ the words fall before you can stop them. You expect him to stop walking, to put you down andâŠ
âIâm not going to hit you just because my brother would have.â He says as he watches the gears turn in your head. Had you caught him another time, he mightâve reprimanded you somehow, but the challenge in your eyes is refreshing to him. You catch him off guard.
âUnlike him, I donât get threatened by a challenge. I rise to it.â He says proudly as the doors to his chamber open by quiet guards that close them again quickly, without question. Theyâve learned not to by now. He puts you down, but before you find your footing, his hand digs under the bottom of your corset and lifts you up, enough for your feet to dangle over the carpet, his nose almost touching yours. He smiles as your breath hitches, cocking his head. âYou see?â
One hand.
You gulp thickly. Youâre not scared. Youâre intrigued, curious, as he gently lowers you. He strips off his outer layers, and you watch his white undershirt cling to his skin, soaked through. His shoulder blades move under your eyes and when he turns youâre quick to look the other way, staring into the flame of a candle. Then heâs behind you, slowly unlacing the back of your dress.
âWhat happened to make him push you? I know he likes to toy with you but you mustâve set him off,â he inquired, his voice low, existing only between the space from his mouth to your ear despite the desolate room. You shiver. Probably from the water, you think.
Your breath comes easier as he unlaces slowly, slender fingers pulling on the silk ribbons. Your eyes crinkle softly with pride. âWe saw a stag, up on the hill. He didnât even want to walk up it to begin with, the lazy boy.â You began and he hummed in response, shrugging the corset off of you. His hands gently moved you to face him in your undergown and knee long bloomers. His fingers went to the bottom of the long layer, slowly lifting the gown, without looking away from your eyes. Your chest hammered, hands still trembling at your sides and this did little to quell it. âAnd?â He asks patiently.
âAnd⊠his first arrow missed. Striked the poor animalâs earâ you said. He pulled the cold, wet fabric over your head, leaving your chest bare, and you were sure he could see the thud of your heart if he looked down. But he didnât, instead waiting for you to continue.
âI took my dagger. Landed it right to its throat.â You say and he smiles, watching the pride in your eyes mimic his own. His eyes move down, lingering on your chest before he sees the two empty sheaths strapped to your pants.
âYou had to use both? Thought I taught you betterâ he tskâs as his fingertips tap the empty pockets.
âIt was a big stag. But I didnât use two. I took Aegons bow and landed the final blow. He took my last dagger in anger.â You say and watched his smile widen.
âAtta girl.â He mumbles as he unties the sheaths and let them drop. Your breath hitches, his ears perking at the sound.
Then his hands go to untie the bloomers, suddenly much closer. âIf you were my wife, I wouldâve proudly let you take the stag homeâ he says as his hands work, steadily. You bite into the inside of your cheek, eyes roving over his face.
âI wouldâve made you carry itâ you say and a dry snicker escapes him.
âAegons a petty boy.â His nose brushes yours, the motion reminding you of his dragon. You tip your chin back slightly, following his movements like water. âDid you use the blades I gave you?â He mutters and you nod.
Your pants drop. Then he does something so unexpected, every fiber of your being stills. He lowers himself to his knees, his pointers hooking under your underwear and pulling them down slowly. Heâs so close to where you didnât even realise before now that you were throbbing, throbbing for him despite the hurdles your body had gone through.
Itâs so exposing, yet you donât feel humiliated the way Aegon makes you feel. His breath fans between your legs, hands on the backs of your thighs to feel your squirming. âI could treat you so much better. You could be my capable princess, instead. My warrior queen.â He whispers slowly, drags the words in that way he always does and a whimper crawls up your usually defiant throat. Your hands move behind you, leaning against the desk despite the scraped skin there. You can barely feel it, as he lifts one thigh over his shoulder, running alongside his white hair. He inhales deeply and you blush profusely.
âHas Aegon ever done this to you?â He asks lowly, looking up from between your thighs. Your lips press together tightly as you shake your head. He grunts in disapproval before his tongue slowly glides up the apex of your thigh, just short of where you want it. It makes your back arch. He tastes the sea on your skin, a reminder to himself to be gentle with you body even if his fire is urging him to do differently. Yet now that he has you here, outside the claws of his brother, he is in no hurry. He always knew you had defiance in you, had a potential his brother would be weakened by, because he was a weak man. But Aemond wasnât weak, and wouldnât be frailed by a powerful woman. Heâd rise with you.
Your hand carefully places itself over his on your thigh, testing the waters. He allows it, intertwines a few fingers with yours before his tongue runs hot through your folds. You gasp at the new sensation, the filth of his mouth there making you wet, making you sensitive. He revels in the way you squirm, and he lets you, doesnât pin you down but follows your hips with his mouth eagerly, latching onto your clit, circling and sucking. He canât help but look up, wishing his second eye could also see the way pleasure blooms in you, in how heâs the one helping you discover. âAemondâ you whisper and squeeze his hand. His eye closes, humming. It goes through you, makes you shiver as his jaw opens wider, lavishing his tongue over the whole of your cunt, prodding against your hole before returning happily to your clit.
âGodsâ you moan, unable to look away from him despite how your eyes nearly close. He lifts your second thigh over his shoulder and moves you back to settle on the table, letting him closer. He hums like heâs enjoying this just as much as you, pulling away for an agonising second to peel the white shirt from his own body. You rove over his slender, strong body, over the muscles flexing as he moves over you, a hand pushing aside the works on his desk so you can lie back. His head follows you down, cradling the back of yours.
âI like watching you squirm for meâ he says with a smile and youâre too stunned by pleasure to reciprocate it, his chest swelling with newfound pride. He opens his mouth, pressing his fingers against your soft lips. You mimic him, letting them glide along your tongue. The fascination in his eyes burn through you, and with a wet pop you let his salty fingers slip. His hand moves out of your sight before the same two fingers prod against your wet entrance that clench around nothing.
He licks his lips before his nose nudges your jaw âcan you take it?â He asks and you nod, your hips seeking the tips of his hovering fingers, to prove your point. Then wordlessly he slips them both, wet with your spit, into you and curls them up. Youâre so tight and hot he might lose it entirely.
Your throat tightens, a broken sound echoing in the chamber and he bites down on the supple skin between your neck and shoulder, not enough to hurt but as a warning. It makes you twitch around him and he chuckles. âNeed you to keep quiet. For all Aegon knows, youâre on the bottom of the ocean. Not here, whimpering so sweetly just for me.â He mutters and you wonder if heâs only doing this to spite his brother. It wouldnât surprise you, but when he spent hours teaching you to land a dagger, he never told a soul. He couldâve let you drown, too. He didnât have to forge you blades with his jewel engraved in them.
âStop thinkingâ he says as he catches onto the change in your demeanour. His fingers pull out before landing a slap to your cunt that makes you gasp pleasurably. âThatâs the only way Iâll hit you, understood?â He says, his eye piercing yours. Your nod is compliant in the most willing way youâve ever taken an order. Then his fingers are in you again, faster and insistent as they curl, his palm slapping you clit. It sounds so wet, and his tongue curls around his teeth in satisfaction while your own hand claws at his neck desperately. He likes the pain of it.
âHarder.â He says and in tact with his palm smacking against your clit, his fingers suffocating between your tight walls, your nails dig into his pale skin and a moan of his own slips between yours.
You cum, you canât even warn him because youâve never known the feeling from another person's hands before, and itâs so different. Itâs violent and all consuming and desperate because his palm only teases your most sensitive spot whenever his fingers are all the way in. Itâs not enough, and too much as you clamp your thighs over his wrist. He watches your face so intensely you wonder if he even realise heâs doing it. High Valyrian words fall from his lips, but you donât understand. They roll from his tongue and you swallow them down anyways.
He slowly down, pulls his fingers out and brings them to his own lips, his sharp jaw slackening as he sucks them clean in front of you. Youâre burning up, about to look away but his other hand curls under your jaw and makes you keep looking until heâs done. He hums.
âIâll get someone to run a bath.â thereâs a hint of tenderness in his voice as he looks at your palms again before moving hair away from your eyes and helping you upright.
He calls in a maid that doesnât dare to look your way as you grab your wet dress and hold it over your bare body. He doesnât care about his own nudity, peeling off his eyepatch. Then he whispers something to the maid and she runs off.
âYou look like youâre schemingâ you say finally, tilting your head. He smiles, looks at you over his shoulder.
âYouâre gonna wear your prettiest dress for dinner tonight.â He says. You smother your own expression of excitement at facing Aegon after what he did, and it mingles heavily with worry. It could wreak absolute havoc- one of Aemondâs specialties.
âHeâs gonna kill me properlyâ you say and stand up.
âI wonât let him.â Aemond says simply and disappears into the bathing chamber. You follow him. âHe tried to kill you. No doubt mother will be furious enough to consider his head for it.â
âIs that why youâre doing this?â You ask, trying to figure him out as you hold the wet gown tighter against your body, standing in the doorway. He pauses before walking up and grabbing the dress from you before guiding you to the warm water.
âThereâs a lot of reasons.â He says and it clearly leaves no invitation for you to inquire further. On another day you might prod him, but you think today has brought you enough risk. He strips down and enter the bath with you, the water spilling over the edge. In silence he cleans the torn skin of your palm, the split in your lip youâd forgotten about. He rubs a cream on your aching back. The tenderness stuns you into saying nothing.
âDid you mean it?â You ask finally. The water moves with him as he shifts behind you.
âMean what?â He asks.
âThat I could be yours, instead.â
You donât see him but thereâs a twitch of his hand that rests on the side of the bath, his eye closed where heâs leaned back. You keep looking ahead.
âYou already are.â
In his chamber one of your dresses lie on his bed, a maid standing idly by its side. âGet her readyâ Aemond says. He leans in, brushing a wet strand from your ear. âIâll be back for youâ he says, and then heâs gone in a flurry of black leather and white hair.
The maid eyes you and you give her a pleading look. Silently, she makes a lock and key over her mouth and you smile. âLetâs get you ready for the feast, princess. Did you hear the princ- eh your husband, killed a stag?â She said, faltering over her words. You let her put up your hair even though it was wet.
âDid he now?â You respond calmly. She nods.
âItâs acclaimed he used an arrow and a dagger too, both perfect aim.â She says.
Your brows furrow pretentiously âthe king didnât have daggers with him.â You say with faux confusion. The maidâs eyes land on the empty sheets in your pile of clothes and she gulps.
âI mustâve heard incorrectly then. Whoever killed it, however it happened, the king is said to have praised the shot to the skiesâ she says with careful amusement. She eyes you, not to overstep and relaxes when you smile at her in the mirror.
Youâre wearing your most lavish jewels, the dress is blue. Sapphire to be specific, like Aemondâs eye. Like the hilt youâd flung at tonightâs dinner. And heâs not wearing the patch, when he comes in. He lets himself look at you and even the maid looks proud of how majestic you present.
âYou look perfectâ he muses and guides you with a hand on your back thatâs certain to catch attention.
When you enter the dining hall, Queen Alicent rushes to your side. Her eyes are wide as she glares at Aemondâs hand which he lets linger before slowly dropping it. She swallows before cupping your face. âAre you well? I heard- Aegon told me you fell and the guards couldnât find you- we thought you mightâve-â
A chair squeaks against stone as Aegon stands up. The look in his eyes is in fact priceless, and nothing compared to the gleam in Aemondâs eyes. âI rescued the princess from the water and brought her straight here.â He says, his voice quieting the room instantly. Alicent's hands drop slowly.
âIâm okay, thanks to Aemond.â You tell her earnestly. She nods with relief but sheâs calculating, you can see it in her gaze. Sheâs smarter than believing the simple story. With flustered demeanour she urges you both to sit. Aegon does too, so stiffly he barely looks alive.
âHow happy I am to see you, wife.â He says with malice that cuts you. It makes Aemond shift in his own seat, leaning forwards in the subtlest warning.
Aegon catches it, and he knows that the truth has undoubtedly reached his brother. He bites his tongue.
âLet us all eat, and be happy that the princess is unharmed by the aid of Aemondâ Viserys says to quell the tension, clasping his hands together merrily as he looks at the cooked stag meat presented, center table.
âAegon you may, very deservedly so, carve the first pieceâ he continues. Aegons jaw clicks as he stands up and grabs the carving knife.
âWas it a knife like that you used to slay the stag, brother?â Aemond asked so pointedly only Viserys doesnât seem to pick it up.
âNo, I hear it was a smaller one! With sapphires in the handles,â Viserys says proudly. Alicents eyes dart between the three of you, and lands on Aemondâs eyes. Your chest tightens but you force it straight.
Aegon flickers like a flame.
âThatâs funny,â Aemond continues, slow and sly. âThose are the daggers I gifted to the princess. I believe she had them with her on the hunt, did you not?â He asks you, his eyes dangerous as they meet yours. You cannot forget his nature, though you know the danger isnât aimed at you.
âI did. Two of them.â You say, and Alicent shifts, about to intercept.
âDid you borrow a dagger from your wife, Aegon? How romanticâ Viserys muses.
âNo he didntâ you say and watch Viserysâ brows furrow and Aegon shift restlessly, his hands itching to get violent, to seize this scheme of truth. The room is simmering, the air growing thicker by the minute. Aemond smiles proudly at your words.
âThen was it you-â Alicent puts a firm hand on top of Viserysâ before his sentence can land in the room, afraid no one might go to bed after dinner if he did. âLet us not talk more, I am starving after the long dayâ she says firmly enough that he listens to his wife. She shakes his head his way, urging him to comply. Aegon stabs the carving knife into the meet so violently the table rattles before he walks off.
âWhy doesnât the princess carve in the lieu of her husband? Seems his temper got the best of him, once againâ Aemond suggests and your eyes narrow at him, mouth pursed. His tongue rolls in his cheek as he pulls the knife from the meat and hands you the hilt. You look at Alicent, her body stiff as her lashes flutter y with a short nod âgo aheadâ she mumbles. You rightfully carve a piece for every plate except Aegons deserted one. And it tastes better than it ever has.
masterlist.
