"The EAT Burgers Place in the city. 6th street. Meet me there, Simon.

The old man had seen these words scrawled across buildings in colorful, hasty graffiti. He'd seen them painted in bright red on the street and the happy green sign which said "Welcome to ---" with the bottom long since rotted off.

Now, he was seeing them neatly printed on a flyer which he held in his shaky hands. His memories were fuzzy these days, but it looked like her handwriting. He was close.

Could it be true?

Simon grasped Marcy's hand as she flitted about, just as excited and nervous as he was. He couldn't believe they'd actually find her here. 

In any case, it was getting dark, and he ought to take Marcy somewhere safer than out in the open. Clutching the paper like a compass, he headed in her direction. Betty's direction.

"How exciting, huh sweetie?", he burst out nervously, trying to lighten the mood. Palms sweating, he looked from the paper to Marceline.

"Yeah!" the small demon girl replied distantly. It had been just he and she this entire time. She just couldn't take in that there were more people. The very thought felt like dunking her head in ice water; terrifying and exhilarating.

With every step, the two felt more confident, yet more and more anxious. Finally, they would turn the corner. She would be there, waiting for them.
