Reminder
{ Itâs Debbie Watlingâs birthday today..
                                        ...so itâs also Victoriaâs birthday!! }
itâs funny that victoria has the reputation of just like the âshrieking damselâ companion because victoria waterfield is straight ready to cut a bitch at any opportunity
sheâs perfectly comfortable bossing everyone around in âtomb of the cybermenâ, refusing to give up or give in and demanding that the grown men explorers listen to her and do as she says, and sheâs straight ready to elbow drop ramon salamander in âenemy of the worldâ before the doctor reveals itâs him. itâs not jamie, hot-tempered battle-ready jamie, who launches himself at salamander, itâs fucking victoria! she saw a dangerous dictator sitting at a desk and sheâs immediately ready to elbow him in the neck!
i love victoria so goddamn MUCH
dxctxriiâ:
FOR THIS INCARNATION AT LEAST, CHRISTMAS HAD ALWAYS BEEN A PARTICULARLYÂ ENJOYABLE TIME OF YEAR.
THERE JUST EXISTED SOMETHING WONDERFUL ABOUT IT ALL - THE FOOD, THE PRESENTS, THE CELEBRATIONS, THE SILLY LITTLE TRADITIONS THAT HUMANS RELISHED IN SO MUCH. It certainly brought a smile on his face to witness such genuine happiness - humanity seemed to be constantly at war with one another; it warmed both hearts to see that, once a year at least, they were able to drag all that misery to one side.
OF COURSE, CHRISTMAS WAS ONLY HALF AS ENJOYABLE WHEN ONE WAS INDULGING IN IT ALONE. Thankfully for him, this year there was going to be a party of three on board.Â
THIS WAS GOING TO BE VICTORIAâS FIRST CHRISTMAS SPENT IN THE TARDIS, AND HE WAS DETERMINED TO MAKE IT SPECIAL FOR HER. Given what they had all gone through together - the Daleks, the Ice Warrors, the Cybermen - he concluded that a Christmas spent firmly behind closed doors, tucked away in the warmth and safety of the vessel, was on the cards. As a result, during a chance landing in twenty-first century London, The Doctor had ushered both Victoria and Jamie away for an afternoon of sightseeing together, while he had undergone a few errands - namely purchasing a whole array of presents and other items, as well as a few Christmas cookbooks; granted, the old girl was perfectly capable of providing a feast fit enough for a king on December the 25th, but he at least wanted to try and make something himself - anything to provide Victoria with a sense of familiarity.
INTERNALLY BREATHING A SIGH OF RELIEF, HE WAS GLAD THAT HIS FIRST PLAN - MATCHING PYJAMAS - HAD WORKED.
âOf course! Canât have him feeling left out, can we?â He beamed, before chuckling softly under his breath - last year had been Jamieâs own first Christmas, and heâd been subjected to the same treatment, with an entertaining response of his own, âWith your help, I reckon weâll even get him to wear the trousers this time! I didnât quite manage to convince him to forgo the kilt last year, sadly - but with the both of us on his back, Iâm sure heâll give in eventually!â
â Oh wonderful! â Victoria beamed with glee. Oh it was going to be a bit of struggle to convince Jamie to put on trousers, but surely he couldnât refuse the two of them. Not to mention, it was in the spirit of Christmas to play along. No one, not even Jamie at his grumpiest, could say no. Unless he was a Scrooge. But he couldnât be! Not Jamie!
Victoria had always loved Christmas. It was always such a happy time in her home, when her mother alive at least. The whole house would be impeccably decorated from top to bottom, in reds and greens and silvers and golds and blues and OH it was so beautiful. Garland around the railings, wreaths on every door, winter berries and mistletoe in the hallways. Her Mama always took special care in decorating the drawing room.
It would be filled with guests on Christmas Eve so it had to look perfect. From the top of the tree to the ribbon wrapped around the candlesticks. Sheâd get to stay up late too! It would be full of laughter and dancing and then Father Christmas would arrive with presents a plenty. Thereâd be warm cookies and milk, if she was good. And she was always very good.
And of course, the Waterfield Family Pudding! A beloved tradition. Though it probably wouldnât taste the same; for the life of her she couldnât remember the exact measurement of the recipe. But surely that would be alright!
â Doctor? â the girl asked, a bit shyly. â Could we make Christmas cookies together? You and Jamie and me? â

thehxghlander asked: âI know, I know - Iâm supposed to be dead.â
He was. Those horrible aliens told her so. There werenât any survivors and now she was all alone. She didnât want to believe it. It was too horrid to be true. He couldnât die, he just couldnât. If she lost Jamie why...why sheâd be lost herself. Sheâd fall apart. But some small part of her desperately clung onto the notion that he was still alive. And thank goodness she had. Or else she would have just...given up, really.
"O-Oh Jamie!â Victoria jumped into his arms, clinging tightly to him as if for dear life. âOh Iâm so happy youâre alive!!â
@ohhfiddleâ - continued from here.
FOR SUCH A TINY HUMAN, SHE CERTAINLY EMITTED PLENTYÂ OF STUBBORNNESS.
IT WAS A TRAIT SHE POSSESSED IN ABUNDANCE, AND ONE THAT SELDOM WAVERED. Once her mind had concluded itself on a matter, that was that; vey rarely did anything succeed in changing it. Although it often came at odds with his own ideals, he nevertheless admired her immensely for it - in her world, at least, she would have been expected to exist as little more than an asset; never speaking unless she was spoken to first, never being allowed her own opinion, seldom being offered any opportunity to express herself. Such an archaic society was never going to accomodate Victoria, that The Doctor has ascertained within moments of meeting her. Thus, her removal from it was always going to be their loss, not hers.
HE COULD NOT HELP BUT SMILE AT HER ATTEMPTS TO FORCIBLY REMOVE HIM FROM HIS POSITION, A MUFFLED CHUCKLE AUDIBLE FROM WITHIN HIS CLOSED LIPS. Glancing down at her, he raised an arm and gently ruffled the short, curly locks of her hair, before briefly turning his attention back to the console. With swift movements, he activated the TARDISâ autopilot function, and, once finished, he offered Victoria an open hand.
HIS NEWFOUND STATUS AS A PARENT WAS ONE THAT CONSISTED OF UNCERTAINTY AFTER UNCERTAINTY. However, as he stared down at the small, pouting, wonderful little girl in front of him, he understood that his own internal struggles were always going to be worth it, as long as she remained happy and safe. That was the most important thing.
âCome along - letâs get you tucked in again, shall we?â
Victoria watched eagerly as the Doctor fiddled with the consoles buttons and bobs and finally stepped away, outstretching his hand. The little girl grabbed hold of it gladly. And tightly too. That was always a very important rule with the Doctor: hold on tight, donât let go.Â
Especially whenever they had to step out the TARDIS. That was very important. She tried to be very good when it came to things like that. She didnât want to frighten the Doctor by rushing off anywhere. There were lots of pretty places in the universe but even pretty things could be scary. So she mustnât ever run off anywhere, without the Doctor.
She liked it that way, after all. She liked doing lots of things with him. Victoria didnât have too many play mates in her old home. It was rather lonely, and sheâd often get chided for going on adventures. The Doctor never chided her like that. Thatâs why she loved him so! He let her climb trees, or run about, or ask silly questions as much as sheâd like. And he looked after her very well. That was the best part!
She had the very best father in the whole of the universe. And she was lucky! With her pout all but vanished now, the girl grinned and with a giggle skipped out of the console room and down the corridor with the Doctor in hand. But rather then make a left to head to her room, she turned right. Towards the Doctorâs room. She opened the door with a bounce and a swish of her hand.
âWell you must get tucked in too!â she declared. He wasnât getting out of resting that easily! She let go of his hand, and practically jumped into his bed. âYou must! You MUST!â With a dramatic little flop she laid down and rolled herself up in the bed sheets, like a little cocoon. âI shanât sleep until you do!âÂ
dxctxrii said: "I bought matching Christmas pyjamas for us!"
Victoria nearly squeaked with delight. Oh they were positively adorable! They were bright red and looked like they were made of a very soft flannel material, perfect for the chilly weather of winter. But most importantly, there were adorable little green and blue penguins all over the trousers. And the button up top had a little red penguin peaking out of chest pocket with a little winter hat upon itâs head.
âOh Doctor, theyâre absolutely lovely! Thank you!â She held the pyjama set close to her chest, yes it would fit quite nicely. âDid you get a pair for Jamie too?â
