So my stepdad asked me why I was a fall risk. I told him I was in the hospital today. He said “for what!“ I said “I went to 7 different hospitals today.” “7?“ “He is an EMT, It’s work humor” my mom said. I thought it was so funny. Tonight, we had the honor to present a call from back in August at Metro Lifeflight’s Trauma Case review. It was cool to get some positive recognition. I work with a great group of guys. I didn’t do the talking.

Just took a picture of our neonate cot. My new job is sweet. Yeah I really enjoy it.

So on my first day of paramedic school, they made us go around, introduce ourselves, and say what we wanted to do when we became a paramedic. Most of the class just wanted to be fireman and were taking medic school because where I live, it is pretty much required. I said I wanted to get into critical care when I finished. Flash forward 2 and a half years from that time and I am on a critical care team. I never thought in a million years I would have gotten to this point so soon. I am beyond proud of myself and very excited for what is happening. My new job is awesome. I love it. I am one of the few people who can truly say I Love My Job. Yeah, and the fire department isn’t so bad either!

My close friend and brother is leaving for Denver today. Hope you find what you’re looking for. We all knew you’d be heading out west one day. Our last shift together was a perfect goodbye. The moment when you’re taking care of an overdose combative patient and you look at each other and start laughing. That is brotherhood. That is knowing you got each other’s backs. I will never forget that moment. We will all miss you man. Safe travels.

Last night, we had a rare opportunity of performing a field delivery at Columbia Fire. With great team work, we were able to deliver the baby en route to the hospital with no complications. This really was one of those once in a lifetime calls. Great job to everyone involved. A huge thank you to South West for being prepared upon arrival. It’s the ones like this that really make everything we get to experience worth it. It’s an honor to be apart of such a great team and to get to experience something so amazing this early in my career. With Mike, Chris, and Dominic.

There was a huge fire across the street today. Columbia was called for mutual aid. 6 other departments were also called. It was pretty cool. Luckily it was a huge landscaping garage and not the house, so no one was injured. Good job to everyone involved.

Going through one of those times tonight. One of those real times. One of those times where you are so hungry but don’t want to make anything and don’t want Taco Bell.
