"Yu ---- Yui?"

     In front of him lay nothing more than a lifeless doll of what had been her. Abandoned and tossed aside as soon as he had realized what he had done to her. No longer would this young body breath life again. Especially with the respawn system destroyed. At least the puppet looked at peace so rest assure her final moments had been one of peace. If only she could have given that same ease to him and the man she once called her father. There reunion had been short but it had given her far more happiness than he could have had imagined.

     The moment she had returned here she had searched everywhere to find the ones she tilted her Hive City Parents. Even when a shadow of a doubt would cross her mind that they were no longer here she would cast it aside telling herself they were just playing hide and seek. So for her to see him, to be held once more in the arms of a man she called her Daddy, she had cried tears of joy. Spoke the words ‘I found you’ and rambled on and on.

      Now however .. the man she had fought hard to love had lost his sanity and took it out on her. She would never blame him though because it wasn`t his fault. It had been no one`s fault but her own. If only she hadn`t been born a normal human girl maybe then she could have become the person Sasori could have loved on forever. Without that woman who he saw as a mother.. without her there to keep him in check he had lost his power to be around those who could not defend against him.

                          Why hadn`t the blue bird find her in the end?

     He had been the worst of moods since the Inn had burnt down. No matter what she said or did for him he just wasn`t the same. It hurt her beyond anything else that she simply couldn`t cheer him up. If only she was like those people in those comics she loved so much. Why couldn`t she had been special like so many of the people that dwelled in this city? As slow as she may have been compared to them she was simply just average. From her sleek brown hair to her tiny toes she was just normal. There was no tormented past to haunt her or supernatural powers to make her a superhero.

     "I`m sorry.." She had sobbed inside his ears one morning. He had just been sitting at his desk his eyes completely blank.. the coldest and the most broken she had ever seen him to be. Not even when she had returned about a month ago had he been this destroyed and she had never left his side this time. "Tell me, Saso-kun.. what can I do?" When she had asked the question he merely shifted his eyes over to her and told her to walk away before it was too late. Of course she hadn`t listened instead she had thrown her usual fit and he countered her by getting up and leaving.

     It hadn`t been until later that night when he returned to her. She had been half asleep but she heard him come in and felt his arms wrapped around hers. A smile had slipped across her lips. "Saso-kun.." Her eyes had become red and puffy from her crying but now she felt at peace. "I love you."

     Just before time stopped for her permanently all she heard was 'You should have ran.'

     "D- daddy... D- Dio?"

        Relief floods through her veins upon small limbs wrapping around her form in a comfortable embrace. Not only due to not having mistaken an absolutely unfamiliar individual for one of her good friends, but due to a recognizable face actually being here as well. Now, the thought of residing here seems to be less daunting. Pure happiness begins to blend in with the calm that is soothing her nerves as miniature droplets of transparent liquid start to form at the corners of discernible notes that exhibit a darkened shade of blue. Although they cannot be fought off given her own arms being captured at the moment, she attempts to prevent her voice from shaking too much. Of course, the task effortlessly proves itself to be challenging.

     Pulling back just enough to look into her friend`s eyes she notices the forms of liquid ready to slide down her cheeks. A soft giggle escapes her lips as she holds her dearest friend closer. Even if it hadn`t been long since she was thrown back into Hive City she had dreadfully missed them all. Now if those silly scientists could also give her the rest of her friends, especially her sweet little Azu-nyan.

     "It`s good to see you too Mio-chan!" There was so much she wanted to tell her but she had no idea where to start. Moving back a little she grasped Mio`s hands and swung them a bit. "You won`t believe the things I`ve seen here!"

"I’m not really planning on getting any candy myself, but I’m going to take a friend out. I just want them to enjoy themselves." He doesn’t really care if he gets any enjoyment out of it.

“I think you may be ranting a little Yui… perhaps you should slow it down?”

     "Ehhhh?! What do you mean you won`t be getting any candy for yourself! B- But you have to!" Placing hands on her hips, she lips formed into a tiny pout. "I bet your friend would want you to stuff yourself on candy! They might not have fun unless you have fun you know."

     "Ehehe.. oopies ~" Rubbing the back of her head she beams up at him, a light tint of pink glowing on her cheeks. "I guess I`m getting a little too excited. This will actually be my first Halloween with Saso-kun and- and Mio-chan will be around to celebrate with me too!"

"If you want to, then sure. This is my first time dressing up for this holiday so trying to pick a costume has proved difficult."

     "Oh, oh! It`s a lot of fun! You can be anything you want and the best part about it is getting candy for just being silly! I wonder if Mio-chan would come along .. ahhhh! And maybe Saso-kun too! Maybe he`d be a kitty cat or or ~" She was practically ranting off now.

{ A brief flash of chocolate locks quickly retrieves   the patently bewildered teenager from the inner   workings of her active mind as they bear a rather   haunting air of familiarity. Is it possible that she   has somehow found herself being unexpectedly     transported along with her dear friends to some   foreign land? Perhaps, but it is impossible to be   absolutely certain of that without proceeding to   approach the short haired individual who has just   rushed on by. Fortunately, a substantial amount   of distance has not been placed between them   just yet. It would appear as if the frantic female in     question has resolved to take a moment to unwind   on one of the countless benches that occupy the   bustling city. With noticeable hesitance in her step,   the presently uncertain one draws near the seated   figure and allows nimble digits to steadily stretch out.   Four seek refuge in an exposed palm whilst the fifth   gently taps the right shoulder of the nameless girl. }

                                   ❝ Y-Yui? ❞

     Once again she had found herself in an unknown area or it could have been because she simply forgotten what was familiar and what wasn`t. Her memory after all, wasn`t the best. A soft sigh escaped her lips before she sat down on one of the many benches. If things kept up like this she might have to get Sasori to find her again. The thought of that didn`t settle nicely in the pit of her stomach.

     Just when she was going to pull her cell phone out a voice called her name out. Turning to the person who tapped her shoulder she practically jumped up. Her mouth gaped opened wide, arms tossing themselves around the darker haired girl.

     "Mio-chan!"

     "E- Ehhh? They`re thinking about fighting? W- Wait! That wouldn`t be fun at all! Fighting isn`t fun .. an- and it`s not something you should waste good energy on!"

     "But isn`t that a good thing? That means everyone is full of energy and are in good moods!"

“STOP IT! If you all seriously have to fight, do it out of the public eye! You all need to consider the number of people that live in this city!”

     "Yeah! Fighting isn`t nice! There`s enough cupcakes for everyone-- wait. . what fighting?" Oblivious Yui is oblivious.

     The young girl could barely believe what she saw. Stumbling forward, she stretched her arms out towards the darker haired female. "M- M- Mio-chan? Is that really you?" True or not, the tears were already swelling up inside her eyes.

"I.. can’t make any promises on that.  It goes along with who I’ve been for the past twenty-some years.  So I’ll try it.  So long as you don’t use some idiotic nickname."

Yeah this was getting no where and fast.  So there was really only one thing he could do.  With a blank look, he just stared at the rebel that was now kicking candy everywhere.  “You were given sex education, right?  If so, then it’s those sort of things…”  Why did he have a feeling this would fail harder than anything else?

"Don`t worry about that! I never use stupid nicknames ~ Only really cute ones." Beams brightly, looking completely happy with herself.

Wait. Sex education? He wasn`t talking about .. wait--  did she even pay attention to that in health class? Pretty sure she missed that lesson. "Er.. you mean when a mommy and daddy have children?" She knew that much as for how it exactly happened .. she didn`t even know how sex worked.

"How about we don’t do that… That would make things a little more weird for us than it is worth."  No need for such nicknames.  In fact, he still hated the ‘kun’ to his name.  It was better than chan, at least.  That may be why he wasn’t making such a fuss over it, any more.

"… No, it isn’t a lesson about Kami.  I’m not going to go further into detail of it.  Now pick up your candy and get ready for bed."  He refused to say it.  He wouldn’t explain it.  The outcome from it could be disastrous.

"Okay but then you have to stop calling me kid!" Super duper pouty face. "I- I`m an adult too!" Kind of. She was eighteen! Close enough?

"Ehh? It isn`t then what do you mean--" Crosses her arms and refuses to move. "No. Not until you start treating me like an adult too!" Kicks some candy to the side as a rebel!

"Don’t worry about it, Kid.  My issue of being annoyed so easily is my own and no one elses.  Unlike you, I didn’t have some fun childhood.  I ‘matured’ too quickly, and I learned all of the wrong things in life.  It isn’t you that needs to learn… It’s me…"

And thus a quick little jab at her forehead with a rather old knitting needle. Not trying to hurt her, of course.  “Things that involve how any of us were brought into the world… We don’t do those things, and you do not need to think about those things.”

Despite what he said she couldn`t help but pout. "Saso-kun shouldn`t learn to be any more matured. He needs to learn to be more like a kid!" She flashes him a smile, looking up at him with adoring eyes. "And since you keep calling me kid, maybe I should call you ojiisan. ~" With this she giggled, thinking herself very clever.

"O- Owwwiiiee!" Pulling back from his lap she rubbed her forhead, sniffling softly. "That was mean!" However she heard his explanation and was still a little lost. "Brought into this world? Wait .. is this a lesson about Kami-sama?"
