I've been back on this hellsite (affectionate) for nearly two weeks now and realized I have not seen a single piece of fanart featuring Grace in his obscene adorable lil EVA undersuit and so ofc had to rectify this injustice immediately.

recently realizing some things about myself.

I may be more transmasc than I had previously let myself believe, and uh. that almost definitely ties into my low sex drive.

not in the "testosterone makes you horny" way but in the "I have been uncomfortable in my body for over a decade and its eating away at my ability to enjoy being me" way.

I never made that connection until a week ago. I am 32.

cisnormativity is a hell of a drug. I didn't even think I was cis, I just didn't think medical transition was right for me. for stupid reasons.

finally getting my healthcare insurance sorted (just moved states, was on medicaid, its a whole ordeal) so I can talk to a doctor about hrt.

hopefully I can find an informed consent clinic in my area.

aces can be and are sometimes cisgender and het. they can be benefactors and perpetrators of cisheteronormativity and it's really weird of you to erase that

im so tired but saying ace ppl arent lgbt isn’t saying their identities aren’t valid. you can still support ace people and hope for them to have a productive community that has the resources needed for ace specific issues while acknowledging that being ace without experiencing same gender attraction doesn’t make you lgbt. the lgbt community isn’t a catch all for “outside of the norm” orientations, it’s always existed to combat transphobia and homophobia. the lgbt community’s resources and goals should used toward issues that impact trans people and people who experience same gender attraction. while obviously there are people who are both ace and lgbt, it’s okay to have different communities to serve different needs

communities change and grow over time, and the LGBT+ community has largely accepted asexuals and aromantics as part of the community today. I believe this strengthens us, not only through numbers, but through understanding and solidarity.

we combat homophobia and transphobia, obviously, but we also combat the normative framework these bigotries spring from- namely cis- and heteronormativity. if we approach asexuality and aromanticism as orientations opposed to heteronormativity, it is clear that asexuals and aromantics belong within the larger community.
