there’s a line in twilight that goes “there was nothing more beautiful than Edward in his khakis and pale beige pullover” and i think about that every day of my life
like stephanie meyer really did go “hmm. what’s the absolute sexiest garment i can think of. the most gorgeous clothes imaginable. how do i communicate how absolutely fucking fine edward looks at all times” and then 0.5 seconds later she went “oh, of course. khakis”
this reminds me of her emphasis on the cullens car that she constantly described with such awe and admiration and it always had me WEAK bc she tells you it’s a volvo s40 but then Describes it as if Edwards ass was pulling into the high school parking lot in a lamborghini or something and not literally a regular grey sedan

What’s even better is that that’s not “the Cullens’ car,” it’s specifically Edward’s. There is literally nothing interesting about Edward even in comparison to the other inhumanly perfect immortals he lives with. Bella saw this quintessentially dull man and was like “I’m gonna climb that like a tree.”
like specifically regarding cars, everyone else in the family had a Cool Car. A Car Person’s Car. Alice literally steals (and then subsequently purchases) a Porsche at one point. And Edwards’s over here like, “I drive a volvo bc it has good collision ratings and decent gas mileage. I got it in mid-grey bc it’s statistically less likely to get pulled over”
I had no knowledge of cars in the slightest when i read those books. I assumed automatically that a Volvo was this really nice high end car based on how she described it. Ding dong I was wrong
He was so fucking boring like how did he ever stand out to her
