Tell me i'm not the only Person cringing so hard everytime I see François on my feed?
I don't wish him any harm and Im happy his show has a lot of success. And I get it... he's very handsome. But I can't help but think about his "feud" with Oliver... I wonder if he's as Sweet as people are painting him to be 👀👀
no..... tbh i don't cringe when i see francois on my feed, i still follow him on socials but then i also don't think he's all that sweet?? i don't mean that in a bad way at all, just that as a person who's been following his career since i killed my mother in 2009 i've always thought he seemed pretty opinionated, feisty and not one to back down from a fight! again that's not a criticism nor is that a flaw per se, certainly some fights are worth fighting.
i haven't watched heated rivalry but obviously it's a sensation and that's great for the cast and crew as well as fans fo the book and lgbtq+ media in general. francois has said a lot of things in the press for the show that have imo added important perspectives to discourse about lgbtq representation in hollywood, parasocial relationships with celebrities, and how queer roles get cast ( also him yelling at deuxmoi was funny af sorry/not sorry ) and yes he is very handsome.
wrt his apparent falling out w/oliver only they know why they stopped being friends/following each other after so long. it was their first time working together but they had known each other since at least 2014 or so, i'm not sure how they met but i think maybe through sarah gadon, oliver's friend and costar from world without end who i guess francois dated for a few years, i don't know those details though
all i know is that oliver and francois were hanging out a lot in vancouver during the filmming of the first season of surface, francois was posting photos of oliver with his dog or of them hanging out, other people posted photos of them hanging out at events, and then it stopped and they unfollowed each other around the time of the premier of the first season of surface. francois did all that stuff with deleting some ig posts, tagging everyone but oliver in his ig stories about the premier, footage of them not interacting on the red carpet and so forth.... we will probably never know why, no one has commented on it in anyway and tbh i think only people who follow oliver even noticed. like you guys sent in questions about it and i saw other oliver fan blogs talking about it but that's it. so this is very niche info lmao
if people want to see some of the photos and video posts you can search the francois arnaud tag on this account though looking through those i think i missed quite a few, sorry it was a long time ago and i've always been shit at tagging things consistently : (
one of my readers at the time did notice that xavier dolan unfollowed oliver the same week as francois did ( just peeked and oliver still follows xavier ) and it also seems that their surface costar gugu mbatha-raw didn't unfollow francois but did stop interacting with all his social media posts while continuing to comment/repost oliver, back when oliver was still posting on ig.
i'm definitely not trying to drag other people into this at all, these are just public observations, there is no telling what these people's relationship dynamics are outside of social media, maybe it's all related and maybe it's not, maybe these things mean something and maybe they don't. people just fall out or grow apart sometimes w/o a clear cut good guy or bad guy or drama.... i don't mean to be like on the fence or w/e i just can't really "take a side" if i don't know anything about what happened?
it's a shame to see a ten year friendship come to an end though of course. so i still follow francois's career even if he and my other fave are ( apparently ) not cool w/each other anymore!
