I get many messages asking for donations, so I'd like to make it clear:
I'm currently living in a country where money transfers abroad are restricted, and I can't expect it to change anytime soon. I'm really sorry, but there's nothing I can do about this situation. Sharing your posts is basically the only kind of help I can provide.
genuinely insane to me that bikinis are the Default swimwear marketed & sold to women. that's nylon underwear. & if you don't want to wear one people treat you like you're childish & insecure & suggest ways to "get over it"
"i feel uncomfortable with the idea of wearing what amounts to fast-drying underwear in front of other people, many of them complete strangers" "have you tried gradually acclimating to showing more & more skin? have you tried being more confident? are you ashamed of your body? don't you want to show off your beach bod?" girl what the fuck are you talking about!!!
When I'm complaining in the school text chat about a bunch of bullies that are being mean to my daughter, maybe don't start your comment with something like, "Yeah that sucks, but you know that girls can be mean to boys, too, don't you? You know that sometimes boys being mean to girls is the direct result of girls' bad behaviour? You know that, right?" Can someone believe for once that sometimes bullies are mean because they are just mean?
All of my life, I've been trying to talk about my experience as a bullying victim. Everyone's been telling me to shut up because nobody was interested. Nobody cared.
I kinda get it. Bullying is a heavy topic. It's easier to pretend that doesn't happen. It's easy to pass by a kid who's being bullied instead of idk do anything. Too easy to turn a blind eye to our suffering. So easy to deny a victim a luxury of speaking openly about what they've been (or still are) through.
But can't you see that exactly what our bullies want? They want their victims to shut up and those in whose power it is to help them to just ignore them and do nothing. Can't you see that you are becoming just like my bullies?
As if it weren't enough that no one helped me when I was actively bullied. Now I can't even speak up.
Being an extrovert was a default. If you were an introvert, everyone tried to convert you. Not being into parties, not wanting to hang out in companies of your peers, was considered snobbery. Everyone was trying to "fix" you. And you got bullied.
Smoking and drinking alcohol was a norm. Getting drunk at a home party for a 14yo was a norm. If you didn't consume anything of this, you were considered weird and even a threat to society.
Dating was always supposed to eventually lead to sex, and not just eventually, but the sooner, the better. You couldn't opt out of it. Your wishes didn't matter. If your boyfriend wanted to have sex with you and you said 'no', he most likely will break up with you. But even giving in to the boys' desires didn't always help. Many horny boys started dating girls only to break up with them once they got to sleep with them. Girls literally couldn't win. Also, no matter what the girl did, the boys often spread rumours, calling her a whore (to revenge if she said 'no' to sex and to make themselves look good and boost their ego if she said 'yes').
Not wanting sex in general was considered weird at best, a deviation at worst.
Virginity was considered a flaw everyone wanted to get rid of as soon as possible.
Everyone was supposed to launch their love life as early as possible. If you didn't have dating history by the ripe age of 15, you were considered a late bloomer, an incel and whatnot.
Beauty standards for women were strict: a slim large-breasted long-legged tall blue-eyed blond. Everyone who didn't fit in was considered ugly.
A blueprint of an ugly girl from 90s: a fat short freckled flat-chested glasses-wearing brunette.
Being ugly was a crime. A girl considered ugly couldn't even hope to ever be loved. You had no right to show up in public spaces (especially at beaches and nightclubs).
'Feminist' was considered a cuss word. No man in his right mind wanted a feminist girlfriend/wife.
yes body positivity and peace and love for everyone and we shouldn't comment on peoples bodies However i'm tired. most nice and affordable clothing is made for skinny people, seat belts are made for skinny people, crash dummies are modeled after skinny people, doctors can and will ignore your health problems if you happen to be fat. hell, you can't even exist in your own body without someone saying you're "promoting obesity" meanwhile social media influencers with marketable eating disorders share their 0kcal recipes and that's just #fitness #healthylifestyle #girlboss. someone thinking a skinny person is attractive is just the default and no one questions it but god forbid someone wants to fuck a fat person, that must be a fetish. god forbid you're disabled and fat, must be your own fault. skinny people can just say its their metabolism and genetics but being fat should be a temporary state and gaining weight is the worst thing that can happen to you. i could keep going but maybe this is enough for now. just know that im tired and anyone who starts clowning on this post has to pay five euros to the nearest fat person.
The redhead girl in the background having her head twisted. The pair in the front row being conjoined twins. The guy beside them having six fingers on his right hand. What the hell is happening in this ad?
I lost weight when I went on my medication initially because it made me very sick and when I told people that was why, more than a couple would say stuff like “I wish I could get some of that” like you want a weird disorder that is awful and to be violently ill? just to be skinnier?
“After I got the biopsies, they did another mammogram. And I had to have my shirt off. And I was standing there at the machine. And the technician said, oh my gosh, you have such a flat stomach. What is your secret? And I was like, oh, I’m dying.“
🧵 THREAD: This #EqualPayDay, let’s not forget how many of our workplace rights were only secured in the last few decades.
💪✨ We need to fight for our rights.
Here’s are a few examples:
📍 In 1963, the Equal Pay Act required employers to provide equal pay for equal work regardless of gender.
📍 In 1964, the Civil Rights Act prohibited discrimination based on gender, race, religion, color, or national origin in public places, schools, and employment. Before, it was legal to refuse employment opportunities to women.
📍 In 1978, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act made it illegal for employers to discriminate against pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.
📍 In 1988, the Women's Business Ownership Act created support for women business owners and eliminated the requirement for male co-signers on loans.
📍 In 1993, the Family and Medical Leave Act gave some workers paid family leave, and provided job protection and security for employees who took unpaid time off to care for a relative or family member.
📍 In 2010, the PUMP Act expanded the Break Time law, which provides key workplace protections for nursing mothers, including reasonable break time to nurse and a private place to pump.
📍 In 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court held that an employer who fires or otherwise discriminates against an individual simply for being gay or transgender is in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
📍 In 2024, the Department of Labor introduced a Final Rule to end an employer's ability to pay individuals with disabilities subminimum wages.
First patient in UK gets dose of jab designed to kill most common form of lung cancer – and stop it coming back
"Doctors have begun trialling the world’s first mRNA lung cancer vaccine in patients, as experts hailed its “groundbreaking” potential to save thousands of lives.
Lung cancer is the world’s leading cause of cancer death, accounting for about 1.8m deaths every year. Survival rates in those with advanced forms of the disease, where tumours have spread, are particularly poor.
Now experts are testing a new jab that instructs the body to hunt down and kill cancer cells – then prevents them ever coming back. Known as BNT116 and made by BioNTech, the vaccine is designed to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the most common form of the disease.
The phase 1 clinical trial, the first human study of BNT116, has launched across 34 research sites in seven countries: the UK, US, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Turkey.
The UK has six sites, located in England and Wales, with the first UK patient to receive the vaccine having their initial dose on Tuesday [August 20, 2024].
Overall, about 130 patients – from early-stage before surgery or radiotherapy, to late-stage disease or recurrent cancer – will be enrolled to have the jab alongside immunotherapy. About 20 will be from the UK.
The jab uses messenger RNA (mRNA), similar to Covid-19 vaccines, and works by presenting the immune system with tumour markers from NSCLC to prime the body to fight cancer cells expressing these markers.
The aim is to strengthen a person’s immune response to cancer while leaving healthy cells untouched, unlike chemotherapy.
“We are now entering this very exciting new era of mRNA-based immunotherapy clinical trials to investigate the treatment of lung cancer,” said Prof Siow Ming Lee, a consultant medical oncologist at University College London hospitals NHS foundation trust (UCLH), which is leading the trial in the UK.
“It’s simple to deliver, and you can select specific antigens in the cancer cell, and then you target them. This technology is the next big phase of cancer treatment.”
Janusz Racz, 67, from London, was the first person to have the vaccine in the UK. He was diagnosed in May and soon after started chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The scientist, who specialises in AI, said his profession inspired him to take part in the trial. “I am a scientist too, and I understand that the progress of science – especially in medicine – lies in people agreeing to be involved in such investigations,” he said...
“And also, I can be a part of the team that can provide proof of concept for this new methodology, and the faster it would be implemented across the world, more people will be saved.”
Racz received six consecutive injections five minutes apart over 30 minutes at the National Institute for Health Research UCLH Clinical Research Facility on Tuesday.
Each jab contained different RNA strands. He will get the vaccine every week for six consecutive weeks, and then every three weeks for 54 weeks.
Lee said: “We hope adding this additional treatment will stop the cancer coming back because a lot of time for lung cancer patients, even after surgery and radiation, it does come back.” ...
“We hope to go on to phase 2, phase 3, and then hope it becomes standard of care worldwide and saves lots of lung cancer patients.”
The Guardian revealed in May that thousands of patients in England were to be fast-tracked into groundbreaking trials of cancer vaccines in a revolutionary world-first NHS “matchmaking” scheme to save lives.
Under the scheme, patients who meet the eligibility criteria will gain access to clinical trials for the vaccines that experts say represent a new dawn in cancer treatment."

These are just a few of many, many Palestinians who use Tumblr to reach out for any possible help they can get to raise the money needed for their families to evacuate, buy food, get medical help or supplies, find shelter, and all other basic human needs that they cannot access without outside help. Please take a few minutes to read some of these families' stories. Many of them have children, and many have urgent medical needs. All have already experienced horrific injury, illness, and loss, whether to themselves or to a family member, a neighbor, a friend.
It costs $5,000 USD for an adult to evacuate to Egypt, and $2,500 for a child. If everyone who follows this blog was able to give $5, we could evacuate 31 adults, or 62 children. I know not everyone has money they can spare. But if you are someone who does, please click on one of the links above and help save someone's life.
Hey guys, this is a fundraiser for the extended family of Karim Al Madhoun from a fundraiser I posted before. Please do not hesitate to help!
"I am Sohad Mahmoud, I am fundraising for my family, my parents, my sister, my brother and my 2-brothers family members in the Gaza Strip, who were displaced from northern Gaza to Khanyounis city, and they are in urgent need of help.
They have lost all sources of stable income. Please consider helping us during this massacre in Gaza.
From the first days of the ongoing war on Gaza strip (on 13/10/2023), my apartment in Gaza city, was partially destroyed due to the indiscriminate Zionist bombing of Gaza, which did not distinguish between humans and stones. Here below is the photos for my apartment. [...]
More than once, My family miraculously escaped death, and they were forced to leave their lovely city Gaza and home five times to escape death, and save their lives."
Hello everyone,
I am Sohad Mahmoud, I am fundraising for my family, my parents, my sister, my brother… Sohad Mahmoud needs your support
Dear beloved friends, My name is Mahmoud Alkhaldi. I am a Palestinian refugee living with my fiancée and family in a catastrophic situation-in tents- in Rafah. However, for 116+ days, me and my family have been under intense bombing and warplanes rockets in the Gaza strip. I’m asking funds to evacuate (5) members of my family from Gaza to a safe place in Egypt, including my younger brother (Mohammed, his wife, and his 1 and half year son Yasser), and me and my fiancée Sujood). It could be very expensive and costly to evacuate a war zone at a miserable time like this. We will need approximately $50000 and a lot of prayers
Dear beloved friends, … Sara A needs your support for Help Gaza Family
My home was cozy, beautiful, and warm before the war. Here is some pictures for our house before the war
Our home was targeted in a tank bombing on the 25th of November 2023 that left it unlivable, along with the entire neighborhood of Al-Burij refugee camp, in Gaza City.
When we returned back to our home to get some needed itemsand clothes, we found that Israeli soldiers also steal our belongings. Since that day, my family has been sleeping in a miserable tent in Rafah, in the south of Gaza, which has become a home for all people from the Gaza strip, whose homes were also destroyed by airstrikes, but they have survived thus far.
I can't express how useless and depressed we felt after finding out what they'd been through and are currently going through. Each moment, we worry about losing them. Without connection settings, we cannot constantly contact them. During the moment of typing, over 25,0000 individuals have been killed in Gaza. They are without electrical power or heating for a period of three months, food is limited, and their drinking water is unsafe for human consumption. My family's only hope is to evacuate to to a safer place out of Gaza. My family went through the loss of several friends, and many of them have lost their spouses and children. I am afraid of losing my family. They are the light that leads me through my life. I cannot live or survive without them.
The expenses of travel for 5 people are as follows:
• $50000 for the boarding pass (Egyptian coordination) to pass Rafah border, 10000$ for each person.
We are need your help and support in raising $50000 to transport them from Gaza to Egypt. Once the cash are put in the US bank account, they will be deposited to my family's bank account. He intended to utilize the funds to cover the costs of going to Egypt as soon as feasibl
I'm writing to you in hopes that you will help me by donating, sharing, or reblogging the gofundme link. I need those donations to save my family from the war that destroyed my home and work and the death of some of my family members 😢😥
I am also five months pregnant and need proper health care and medication 🚨
Every donation, share, or reblog contributes to saving our lives from this war 😢🙏
Thank you for your trust and support 🌹
Hello everyone..

I am Hadeel Mikki from Gaza, Palestine and this is my husband Waseem Mikki, my daughters Mira and Nadia, My mother Tahani Mikki, and my two brothers.
Hello everyone..
I am Hadeel Mikki from Gaza, Palestine and this is m… MOHAMED E M Mikki needs your support for Help My Two Daughters Es
Here is our story - Ever since the morning of the 7th of October, none of our lives have been the same. Everything in our lives has been disrupted. The first night since the beginning of the war, our home got partially destroyed because of a very close Israeli strike.
Despite the damage, we stayed home for another two weeks until suddenly and without preparation, we were told to evacuate our homes and we’d be in danger. From this moment our endless journey of suffering and pain began.
Throughout this journey, we later Knew that our home of three floors where my family and my uncle-in-law family live. My uncle family of 5 members did not leave our home and it has got bombed directly and completely destroyed and all of them were martyred.
My father-in-law his heart could not bear all this pain and all this grief; so he got sick. He found himself living the darkest of realities and through the scarcity of medicine and lack of medical resources in the hospitals, he passed away.
My husband, Waseem, was very sad, and my daughters missed their grandfather, who used to play with them and bring them toys.
The situation was very difficult for my children, and my eldest daughter, Mira, kept crying and wanted to go and see her grandfather, and she did not realize that he had gone and would never return.
So we moved in with my husband, children, and I, full of great sadness, with my mother and two brothers, who are the only survivors of my family; They are all that I have left, and I hope that we will all escape with our lives outside of war and destruction, and that my children will survive. We do not want to lose them.
Our future has become unknown, our present is unbearable, unlivable by human standards. We’re stuck in a harsh reality each moment. We live in a constant state of sounds of explosions, bullets raining down on us, artillery shells, and warplanes dropping destructive missiles on us every day.
In addition to our ongoing suffering to this day: lack of resources, humanitarian aid, medicine, and food. We can barely find food for my girls, as they eat one meal during the day and spend the rest of the day crying.
This is my daughters enjoying a life before 7th October.
But now my princess Mira stay alone all the time remember her previous life, her school, her friends, our beautiful life, and all places we were visited with Mira and Nadia as a beautiful family and still cry I need my school, I need my friends, I need my toys.
This is the cry of a mother and father. We hope that our children will be given the opportunity to live in peace and security and have access to food and a safe life like the rest of the children of the world everywhere.
Now I am pregnant in the 4th month , and I don't know how I will get the baby, there is no hospitals , no pregnancy care , no food , no clean water, so I am worried about this pregnant with these circumstances.
Maybe this fundraising effort is like a beacon in the darkness, our sole source of hope that we hold onto tightly. I urge the world to listen to my plea and the sorrowful cries of my Gaza kin. We desperately require the helping hand that can dry our tears and lead us to safety.
Your contribution is more than just money; it's a chance to reconstruct life and illuminate a brighter future. Join us in shaping a tale of hope, as we rely on your support to begin afresh.
The purpose of the fundraising campaign
The objective of this fundraising drive is to secure the passage of my family, comprising my husband, two daughters, mother, two brothers, and myself, through the Rafah Crossing to Egypt. Presently, this journey necessitates £5000 per person. This campaign stands as our sole opportunity for survival, and I earnestly implore your aid during this pivotal juncture. Rest assured, I will furnish you with a detailed breakdown of the expenses, vowing transparency, and lucidity throughout.
