I love how the big picture world-building of true blood is like yeah what if vampires were real and we knew about them? how could we fit their existence into the constitution? how would this affect infrastructure to accommodate their participation in society? what stance would religious organisations take on them? how does their fight for civil rights sideline and appropriate other minority movements? how do capitalist institutions capitalise off them as a new group of consumers? what kind of technology would humans develop to protect themselves? how would the arms industry transform to supply weapons against these new threats to human safety? what does their visibility mean to the privacy of other secret supernatural groups? but then the most immediate issue at hand in this new reality is instead, of course, what happens if you fuck one of them?
