“being human is embarrassing but sweet”
Oh I miss the rain!
You don’t necessarily need to “stop crying.” Sometimes crying is your nervous system releasing accumulated emotion.
And gloomy is a good word for it. Not dramatic. Just emotionally saturated.
I started watching The Strays and honestly… I had to stop halfway because it got too emotionally unsettling for me.
Then I got spoiled that one of the only character I like dies senseless, which somehow made everything even sadder.
What really stayed with me is the ending — the mother leaving all four of her children behind. That’s what makes the title The Strays hit so hard. Everyone in this story is emotionally abandoned in some way. The children are strays. The mother herself feels like a stray too, constantly running from the identities and responsibilities she can’t face.
It’s one of those psychological thrillers that doesn’t rely only on fear, but on discomfort, guilt, identity, and emotional neglect. The psychological horror is how human it feels.
Unsettling movie. Heartbreaking too.
there’s something deeply unsettling about realizing the ground beneath you is not as permanent as you thought.
i only found out about the earthquake this morning after opening facebook for the first time in a while. a family member messaged me about it first, and somehow that made everything feel more real.
