Always blows my mind when a show ends and people are like, "oh, I'm going to miss these characters! I'm going to miss this fandom! I'm so sad it's over!"

The characters didn't go anywhere and now you get to enjoy them fully, with the entire context and understanding of their story! A show ending means it's time to get even more unhinged about The Character!

There are still people making art and fics for Kirk and Spock every single day. You don't have to throw your modern Blorbo in the trash the moment their final episode airs, you dork. Get out there and make transformative art about it, or share headcanons, or whatever else you were already having fun doing.

As summer approaches, as someone who lives in an area that gets more touristy every year I keep getting pissed off

Travel groups, bloggers, influencers jne will always say stuff like "talk to LOCALS. this is a place LOCALS reccomend. Listen to the LOCALS for cool hidden gems" and as soon as we local people say things like hey, maybe dont use airbnb because they take all the affordable housing in the area and make the city centre unlivable for us? All of a sudden its "shut up! You should be GRATEFUL for my MONEY" we're a fun feature of the landscape until it comes to being respected as people and not glorified theme park employees

while people in the notes are being sexy and cool and chiming in with their diverse experiences, im adding a very specific eastern european one i've had dealing with western tourists (as someone who sometimes tour guides here)

when you bring up mistakes or not-ok behaviour like "why did you bring USD here to use? that's not our currency" or "don't take pictures of local people on the street without their permission" or "do not stand in or walk through the middle of this cultural event" people pivot SO QUICKLY to "oh yeah??? well when russia invades your country, dont expect any help!" just the fact that tourists can say "if you don't cater to my every whim without question, you deserve to die" to your face without a second thought is wild
