I yearn for big brothers and sisters, that are either middles/littles/cg's. Older siblings that want a platonic connection, shared joy in being in the agere/cg space. Shoulders to lean on and little messages of encouragement to eachother.
I yearn for little brothers and sisters. Littles that want to come play and babble together. Platonic and safe together in our regressing. No judgment, just freedom to be small.
Feel weirdly lonely when small a lot which is odd. I have more friends I can message when m small than ever before but also feel nervous about being annoying accidentally. Which is also odd because don’t normally get worried about that
I love you regressors who cherish fandom as a huge part of your regression. Whether that means playing a beloved childhood video game to feel small, shipping and writing fanfics with the same glee you did as a teen, regressing as a fictional species, finding comfort in a fictional caregiver, and more!!
Here to send a request!!! Something verrry soft and gentle with tiny baby Agatha and her Mami Rio! I always really enjoy your fics! 💚
Thank you as always for your lovely lovely request- I think it's clear now that tiny baby Agatha is maybe my favourite thing to write.
I am so incredibly sorry this took so long to write- I hit quite a horrible burnout and was busy with university. Also more positively I guess- I could not fit all the ideas I have about baby Agatha into one fic so I have another few planned. In the mean time, I hope this little Salem era/ modern coven au, morning/ nighttime double-feature style fic makes up for having to wait so long for me to write your request. :))
Little Agatha & Caregiver Rio, gentle mornings & nighttimes.
Salem era, after a difficult night for Agatha, Rio gently guides her baby through having some breakfast, with a few hiccups along the way, to start a hopefully much calmer day.
Early in the post-show/ Coven AU timeline, Alice begs the entire coven to join her movie night, and Agatha is reluctant, secretly scared of slipping as small as she fears she will, around the other coven members. However, nobody really notices, and thankfully Rio is there for her when she does slip, and takes her tiny bunny safely up to bed.
Word count- 1.9k combined.
Warnings- some canon/ my-fic typical allusion to Agatha's childhood in the first part.
The sun rose quietly, flooding light into the cabin.
However, the witches inside had already been awake for quite some time.
Unfortunately, Agatha had had a rough night. Nighttime storms and nightmares had kept her from sleeping for more than a couple of hours at a time.
With how tired and unsettled Agatha had been, she’d gotten gradually smaller throughout the night, until Rio had her baby in her arms, trying to soothe the girl's scared cries as the noise of the storm outside mixed with the memories of the bad dreams undoubtedly about the storms she had to suffer through alone as an actual child, that just wouldn’t leave her alone.
And as the sun rose and Agatha wiped at her wide watery eyes with her woolen baby blanket, and shook her head defiantly, Rio knew she wasn’t going to be able to get her little one to settle down again. So Rio had decided to start the day early.
They were sat on the soft arm chair in front of the gently burning fireplace. Agatha had immediately burrowed her head against Rio’s chest, trying to get as close to her mami as possible, certain she’d be safe there. This hadn’t been a problem earlier, when Rio had been reading through some of Agatha’s favourite children’s books to ease her worried mind. Or when she’d been humming, and carding her fingers incredibly gently to separate some of the knots from Agatha’s tossing and turning the night before. Or even when her baby blanket had slipped from her grasp onto the floor, as Rio was simply able to summon it into her hands and return it to her little one without having to move a muscle and disturb her any further.
However, this was a problem as Agatha started being slightly fussy as Rio tried to feed her breakfast. Rio kept trying to get Agatha to lift her head, just a little, so she could give the girl a spoonful of sugared porridge, Agatha refused, whining and tearing up at the prospect of having to move even slightly.
Rio sighed, she knew it wasn’t Agatha’s fault. Her bunny had had a very difficult night, her nerves were undoubtedly frayed and she was understandably feeling very sensitive. But Rio knew that being hungry, on top of everything else, would only make things much much worse for Agatha going forward, as the feeling would likely resurface the very memories that had bothered Agatha all night.
“Come on please, bunny. Could you eat some of your yummy oats for mami please?” Rio gently nudged Agatha’s head by moving the shoulder it was leaning against.
Agatha just whined again, thumb planted firmly in her mouth. Rio generally didn’t like to let Agatha suck her thumb for too long, but knew that with her baby in this state, it would only lead to a meltdown if she made her stop.
Rio assumed there were probably also tears gathering in Agatha’s grey-blue eyes, but couldn’t see for certain from the angle.
“Baby, we don’t want your tummy to be empty and unhappy. Look, it’s very tasty, mami promises.” Rio modelled eating some of the porridge herself, hoping it would interest Agatha to copy her. To Rio’s relief, it seemed to work.
Tentatively, Agatha angled her head up ever so slightly to meet Rio’s eyes. They were bloodshot and watery still from the hours of on and off crying, but there was definitely a new sheen of tears that had Rio’s heart aching. But they were also now curious.
“There’s my bunny’s little face, hello there Agatha love.” Rio praises.
Agatha sniffled and moved a hand grabbing towards the carved wooden spoon in Rio’s hand.
“Mami will help you with that, little love, she doesn’t want her baby to spill anything on her special blanket.”
Rio gently took Agatha’s hand in hers, definitely not trusting her little one, who was shakier than normal, to handle the spoon alone without making a mess, and guided it to help Agatha feed herself. Thankfully Agatha accepted the help, and Rio silently thanked the universe, knowing sometimes Agatha’s fierce independence could show through even when she was at her smallest.
It was a very slow process, but eventually, the bowl of oats was empty, and Rio summoned up a small square of cloth to wipe Agatha’s face clean.
“I’m so proud of you, sweetheart. That wasn’t so bad, was it?”
Agatha gave a very quiet sigh in response that Rio took as agreement, and lowered her head back down against Rio’s chest.
“Yes, we will have a quiet, mami and baby day today, my little love, I promise.”
And as Agatha started to suckle on the worn cotton at the sleeve of her nightdress (rather than her thumb) with a calm look settled on her face for the first time since the day before, Rio knew the day was going to be much kinder to her baby than the night had been.
…
Alice, having recently started to be more open about her regression, had very enthusiastically begged the rest of her coven to join her for a movie night. Agatha had, after extra begging, reluctantly agreed to join. It was obvious she didn’t want to, but Alice had looked so disappointed, and none of them, not even Agatha, could refuse what Lilia called her ‘puppy eyes.’
They had all just assumed Agatha was being avoidant. Rio knew what was happening, however. They may have spent centuries apart but Rio could still read her wife. Agatha was exhausted. That was obvious from the way she dragged her feet, and had to squint more than usual to get her tired eyes to read the titles of the films Alice had laid out.
What Rio was more able to pick up on than anybody else though, was that Agatha was the sort of exhausted that was quickly going to lead to her being quite small. The way she froze upon realising that Alice’s films of choice were all for quite young children, how she took the singular armchair furthest from the others, and curled into herself, blinking slowly to try to keep her eyes open, captivated by the cartoon dogs on the screen.
Nobody else noticed, all too focussed on the film, but Rio saw. Rio noticed Agatha began to breathe slower and her thumb soon made its way to her mouth, and by the time the second film was ten minutes in, she was asleep.
Rio knew the kindest thing for Agatha’s back and neck, which wouldn’t appreciate her curled up position the next day, would be to move her now to their room. However, she also knew Agatha was still very uncomfortable being seen as small and vulnerable around the rest of the coven members, especially as small as she was now. And though she hadn’t shared this with Agatha, privately, Rio was also nervous about letting the coven interact with her baby, worrying that without the years and years of learning to care for little Agatha, they could mess up and accidentally upset or trigger her girl, who was usually so sensitive when like this.
But right now, she couldn’t worry about that- all her focus was solely on Agatha.
Rarely, when Agatha felt extremely safe and extremely tired, Rio would see her go from small to tiny. It took a while for this side of Agatha to come out even with Rio, she had been very wary when she first met her, and it wasn’t until about a year of knowing her that Agatha’s mind finally caught up to the fact that Rio was safe, and that she could completely let go around the green witch. Agatha would hate the coven to see her so small, the vulnerability in having them know just how safe she feels around them might be too much for her this early.
So in order to avoid bringing attention to Agatha’s current regression, Rio decided to let her be for now, but kept a steady eye on both Agatha, and the others should they notice Agatha.
Luckily, Alice also started to doze off towards the end of the second film, so Jen made the decision to cut movie night short and get the tired toddler, who pouted sadly, wanting to watch all three films she’d picked, to bed.
Jen led Alice out first, then Lilia followed but stopped in the doorway. The Sicilian witch glanced back, looking from Agatha first then to Rio. She tilted her head in question, and Rio just shook hers in response. Lilia nodded, accepting to leave the two be, and followed Jen and Alcie upstairs.
When the room was finally cleared, Rio then stood and made her way over to kneel by Agatha’s armchair. She gently reached out a hand, brushing hair that had fallen over Agatha’s face back behind her ears.
Hazy blue eyes cracked open, not really seeing anything until they locked onto Rio, and Agatha gave a big yawn around her thumb.
“Hey there, sweetheart, I think it’s about time we get you upstairs to bed, hm?” Rio proposed in a hushed voice so as not to startle Agatha. Though Agatha gave no response to her words other than to blink at Rio.
Rio smiled, pressing a quick kiss to Agatha’s forehead and scooping her into her arms as smoothly as she could manage.
Still, the jostling, and loss of the warm cushions surrounding her had Agatha’s eyes welling up with tears, and thin whines left her throat.
Rio hushed her softly, “Shh, you’re ok, bunny, we’re just getting you somewhere a bit more comfy to sleep.” Agatha, too tired to hold her head up, let her face fall into Rio’s neck, where Rio felt tears continuing to fall against her skin in time with shaky, thin cries.
She decided to stay there for a moment, in the living room, illuminated only by the DVD menu screen, with Agatha in her arms to let her settle. Rio lightly began to bob and sway back and forth, hoping the movement would soothe the baby bunny.
Gradually Agatha’s cries turned to sniffles, and she grew heavier in Rio’s arms and yawned again.
There weren’t yet any dedicated rooms in the house for either Alice or Agatha to sleep in when small, so Rio took Agatha up to their room. Thankfully, there were no interruptions on the way- the stairs not bothering Agatha too much since she was virtually asleep again, and soon, Agatha was lying on their bed whilst Rio manoeuvred her into a very fluffy hoodie she’d stolen from Lilia for when Agatha was her tiniest and just wanted softness and warmth.
Retrieving Amethyst, Agatha’s new purple bunny lovey, from one of the bedside drawers, Rio handed her to Agatha. Agatha curled her hand weakly into Amethyst's fur, feeling the fabric under her fingers, and sighing quietly in contentment whilst she let her mami arrange her so she was now tucked against Rio’s side without a fuss, wriggling ever so slightly to get comfortable.
Whilst Agatha was distracted, Rio carefully pried her thumb out of her mouth and replaced it with a new purple pacifier- which, of course, had a small bunny printed on the front. Agatha didn’t fuss at this either, much too tired now and too distracted by Rio’s hand stroking in soft motions up and down her back. Mami had been right, this was a much more comfortable place to fall asleep.

Reminder that requests are open as always (I do really promise it should not take me this long to get to them again now.)
♡ The expectation to be like an "adult" but yet I need much more gentleness; to be spoken to in a soft voice/tone, to be gently guided, prompted, encouraged & praised for almost everything. I need immense softness, I need someone to remind me it is okay to cry and to hold me while I do so. I need someone to come to my eye level and fully acknowledge my emotions. I need to be my deeply sensitive and vulnerable self without being made to feel bad about feeling and expressing so much 🌸
