sometimes I might go icon-less in threads, regardless of whether the muse has icons or not. just a preference, and more likely for longer threads.

keith has two older siblings; alima and blake williams, who at the moment are co-ruling the family pack. alima tends to be the favored one among the pack, with a more level head on her shoulders but enough temper to put people appropriately in line. she’s also the one who expresses the most concern over keith. she understands why he left, and she gladly would have also, but she also clawed her way to the top of the goddamn pack and she’s not leaving anytime soon.

even so, she’s the one who tries to get him to text her before and after he fights, if only to relieve some of her anxiety about his pasttimes.

"You smell." it's a teasing jab, as her fingers run over his shoulders, squeezing firm muscle before she sits beside him. "Have a new cologne or something on~?" she purrs, eyelashes fluttering playfully. She just wants to tease Keith. Take the bite or not. Your choice. ( i hate her )

LOW, HUMMING LAUGH SPILLS from deep in his chest, werewolf tipping his head back to watch her sit, something gentle and fond in duo-toned gaze as he does. “ thought I might as well try something different, ” he says, hint of a grin tugging at his lips, “ I’ve never been able to settle on one scent. I don’t know how people do it. ”

grin finally breaks free, curling into a playful smirk. it’s the one he’s always given the ladies, although it’s long since turned into something just for her, as flirty as it is lively. “ I don’t think that’s important, though. what do you think? good or bad? ”

keith’s father was very, very far from being a good man; toxic masculinity bolstered by his rigid hold on inaccurate dominance theory to rule his pack. it had its effects of keith, of course, growing up in a house like that. he still has to fight those thoughts when they come up. he’s gotten fairly good at recognizing what thoughts and actions are toxic, but sometimes someone else has to point it out for him. he’s good about it, apologizing and trying in the future to avoid it, but it’s hard, especially when half of it was scared into him.

it’s a big reason why he’s closeted bisexual. he knows his father would have gotten very mad about it when he was a kid, and so now the idea of confronting it is terrifying to him, even if it’s safe for him to do so.

the williams family fights, and boy does keith embody that. he’s been a brawler since high school. too much pent up fury from his homelife, too many feelings of helplessness to let anyone step on him outside of home. when his father died and his siblings dissolved into fighting over the pack, he tucked tail and left. wolves aren’t meant to be alone, but he can’t imagine being with a pack anymore. sure, he comes back every once in a while, but home is soaked in memories and he doesn’t feel like being haunted.

it was an old arena in wyoming. rodeo grounds, once upon a time, converted into a twisted mess of metal and concrete and blood-soaked sand. someone asked him if he wanted to fight and keith said yeah, yeah I do. and he hasn’t been able to look past since. it’s worse, for him, in a way. he’s only made himself more reactive, more inclined to fight until he can’t anymore, pacing the ring until someone knocks him out and he wakes up the following morning, mouth rancid with the taste of blood. he prefers hangovers, at this point.

a lone wolf who closes his jaws on the throats of other wolves isn’t a good look, either.
