Who knows what will happen with this whole tumblr thing, but in light, I figured Iâd mention that I am currently much more active on Instagram, since I havenât updated my blog here in a few months.

My fully finished Cersei cosplay! I am really proud of this costume, and being able to make most of it while going to school and work both full time, as well as studying for my boards exam and living a tiny bit of a life.
Iâm still totally happy with my scrollwork, I wish I could have made it a little thinner, and Iâve beaten myself up about it previously, now, probably in the future, but I am still so proud of everything I learned and did regardless of exact screen accuracy. All these new embroidery techniques, chainmail, and working with pearly worbla, really great time with all of it!
I am still in awe of it taking 240 hours versus Faramir which took a whopping 550 hours. More than double!! But that costume is on its own fucking plane of existence.
This is one of my favorite costumes from GoT, and I could potentially see remaking it. The birds and lions I am most proud of, and donât think I could do much better, but now I want to make it using proper silks, silk thread and the such!
But Iâm happy this costume has come to a close. As Iâm writing this, I finished it about a month ago, so maybe as you read this a month and a half? Month and a week? Something like that. Currently Iâm in the mood to start on King George III, so weâll see.

What I started at the beginning of February has finally come to a close. Definitely the longest Iâve spent on any costume. Every bead hand sewn. Every piece of gold bullion hand cut and sewn. Everything patterned by me. It might not be perfect in a couple small spots, but I am so in love with it. I canât wait to get my wig and makeup on.
So few people cosplay Faramir, and even fewer do the coronation look. Most just sew on a pre-made trim, and for damn good reason!! I say âmostâ like Iâve seen more than like two cosplayers with this costume, but Iâm so happy to be a part of that small group and to portray Faramir and to try to do this costume justice. He deserves so much more love!
Making of a chainmail belt! Let me tell you about this thingâŠI was already in A Mood, and took about 3 seconds looking at a picture of how these links were. I did about four rows and noticed I wasnât paying attention and had to take most apart. Then I did it again and realize there was an actual, impactful pattern and took it all apart again. Finally I decided to watch a quick vid and got what I was supposed to do. So I remade those first four rows and once I figured out how to do it, I had to stop and put it down. I couldnât even deal with how frustrated I was. I havenât had that in almost two years! But after about an hour, I was able to pick it back up, and it ended up being so enjoyable.
I still have a few more rows left to make, but I needed to order more rings from Hong Kong, so who knows when theyâll get here. But I really enjoyed this once I got what I was doing. Iâd love to do more in the future.
The other plates are made from worblaâs pearly art. I really liked working with it and not really having to prime it. I used black oil paint to give it a nice patina.

Nakia - Black Panther (ECCC)
It took two and a half months, lots of sleepless nights (including one in the con hotel), and some last minute alterations but Nakia (v1) made it to ECCC. I have a bit left to do before sheâs done (the beadwork is actually puff paint - yay improvising). So taking a break on this project to work on stuff for Sakuracon and then I plan to finish my beading and some additional detail work before I take her to Rose City in September.

This is Gabriel from Armory Rasa, with the first installment in my series on leatherworking for cosplay. Leather can be a daunting material to get started with because it has a reputation for being both expensive and esoteric, and most of the information out there is for teaching you how to make cowboy paraphernalia. (Joy of joys.) My goal is to create a comprehensive guide focused on armor and fantasy leatherworking, one that will equip the beginning leatherworker with all of the information and skills they need for a solid foundation in the craft.
So welcome to Part 1, which is about the different types of leather and how to choose the correct one for your project. This is the required reading, the jumping-off point for all my other tutorials, cuz you gotta know this stuff first.

Ygritte the Wildling, Game of Thrones Cosplay
Made a quick formal doublet for our LARP season opener the Highkings tournament; cape was a stand in till I can make a proper cavillers cape (hunting for the perfect cavillers hat to finish it off too the next event I wear it too).
