This is the set of photos I submitted in the finals for my photography class.

More than just presenting our photos, we had to defend them to our professor. Since I am horrible at speaking in general, I had trouble explaining my concept. She was visibly frustrated with how I tried explaining myself (as she was with the rest of the class.) Ultimately, I think she understood what I was going for but said I needed to defend better. In the end, she told me “you have good photos, you just don’t know it,” which pretty much made my freakin’ day.

Pretty damn proud of this set.

[I converted this photo to black and white because it was too yellow and upped the brightness a bit. I also burned some edges digitally because they were not visible in the photo but they are in real life. I left everything else untouched.]

I made a deal with Alla that we should make a cover redesign of every new book we finish (despite the fact that we already have so many other projects that are either abandoned, on hiatus, or haven’t started at all).  I thought it would encourage us (me at least) to read more and to practice designing more.

I finished 1Q84 last week and today I came up with this.

So two of my favorite friends & I pinky swore (lol not really) to do this 30 Day Song x Design Challenge, in which we will produce one piece of art everyday following this list (below) starting November. This started when Jethro & I were stalking ridiculously-awesome-graphic-designers-of-the-Philippines for the yearbook and were consequently feeling bad for ourselves and when-we’re-beside-them-our-skills-do-not-exist skills.
