ooc: Hey so with this new job, and trying to get in shape for this 5K, I'm going to be taking a break from this account. I'm not going to delete it, but I'm going on a Hiatus, at least until the 5k is over, which is in March. It's ridiculous working from 11 am to 8 pm, then going to the gym at 10 until 12, then trying to keep up with my Derek and Finn accounts, and then having to get sleep in between there to get up and do it all over again.
I'm so sorry, but I will be back!

Felicity’s breath caught in her throat momentarily as she felt Oliver’s strong hand pull her to his side. Before, the same gesture had been one of comfort when she was freaking out. Here…it seemed out of place. Not unwelcomed, but very much out of place. Oliver could have any girl he wanted. He was Oliver Queen! They were friends sure, but Felicity was barely older than Thea. She had always thought Oliver had seen her as a younger sister. Perhaps this…nope, Felicity had no idea what this was. But she didn’t question it. Instead she let herself sink into him, listening to his heartbeat rather than the movie. She could feel her eyelids flutter, sleep suddenly seeming like an exceptional idea.
Oliver felt her relax into him and he smile a bit as he let out a breath and relaxed even more. He set his head on top of hers, his arm around her still as his fingers brushed over her arm, making random patterns and shapes. He looked down at her and saw her eyelids trying hard to stay up. He chuckled, "If you're tired, Felicity, why don't you go to sleep?" He asked quietly. "I don't mind..especially if you've seen this movie a few hundred times," he smiled. He shifted and slumped down in the couch a little so she could curl up against him a little more and get more comfortable if she wanted.

"No excuse." Felicity teased, settling back onto the couch as the movie started to play. She let her head lean back onto the couch as the opening started, finding Tony Stark in quite a predicament. Because she had seen the movie before, Felicity allowed her mind to wander, becoming focused on Oliver and his movements. The rise and fall of his chest, his breath and heartbeat, all signs that he was in fact there with her and not some Vertigo concocted hallucination. She hoped he’d like the movie…
He laughed as his brows rose to his hairline, "That's no excuse, huh?" he smiled. He watched as she leaned back and got comfortable, shifting where he sat. He pulled his attention to the movie, watching as it started, his brows low as he concentrated, smiling a bit, enjoying the movie. Half way through he looked over at Felicity again. He'd felt her watching him earlier, but he let it go, and now it was time for him to admire her. His eyes took in the way the light from the TV outlined her beautiful face. A smirk curled at the corners of his lips as he reached over and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her against his side.

Gotta help my brother fix some pipes that broke at his house because of the weather. Hopefully I'll be back Friday night at the latest....

Felicity sat up straight, giving him a strange look. “You haven’t seen Iron Man yet?” She asked incredulously. “Well, that settles it.” Felicity pushed herself off the couch, making her way to her movie collection stacked up against the wall. She thumbed through the selection looking for the Robert Downey Jr. movie. “The first one is the best, although the third one isn’t bad either. Of course, Captain America is great as well. It’s probably my favorite out of all the Marvel superhero movies, well…if you’re not counting the Avengers because that’s really a collective movie and…” Felicity trailed off, realizing that she’d started rambling. “I mean, it’s OK.” She said nonchalantly.
Oliver smiled when he listened to her start rambling about the movies. He chuckled as he pushed one brow in and lifted the other as he let her go. He shook his head, "I haven't seen them," He said to her. "I was on an island for five years, remember?" He asked with another genuine smile. "I haven't seen a lot of movies. And just 'okay' huh?" He asked. "Sure," he nodded with a chuckle. He shifted a little and cleared his throat, settling back into the couch, "Well...let's see what the hype is about," he gestured to the TV.

Felicity chuckled at his persistence. She and Oliver hardly ever hung out outside of work and…their other work. But she’d be lying if she said she didn’t want to. “Um…I don’t know. What sort of thing do you like to do during your free time?” She asked, hoping he wouldn’t ask her the same question. Felicity was a very laid back kind of girl, a night at home with movies and popcorn was how she usually spent Saturday night. Besides, she wanted to know what Oliver Queen, the man, was like. Not the CEO or the Vigilante.
"Sit at home and read," he told her truthfully. "Or I...watch things to catch up with what I've missed...Five years is a long time," he chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Do you know fifty five movies came out in 2008? I think tonight I was gonna watch Iron Man or Cloverfield," he shrugged. "But we can do something else..we can..go out to dinner or...anything."

Felicity could think of several things she’d like to do with Oliver, but she didn’t say so. Shaking her head, Felicity dropped her hand back onto her lap. “I feel a whole lot safer with you here already.” She admitted, scratching back back of her neck. “But I understand if you have other, more important, things you have to do.” She knew his schedule well enough by now. If he wasn’t patrolling the city, he probably had work at Queen Consolidated or Thea and his mom waiting for him back at home for family night.
Oliver frowned a little when she said she understood he had more important things to do. He shook his head as he stood up, "No....no I'm pretty not busy," He told her as he smiled a bit. "C'mon...we can do whatever you want," he said as he shrugged one of his shoulders. "Let the cops handle the city for tonight...it won't go up in flames or anything," he gave her another small smile. "And don't try and bring up my mother and Thea...mom is staying in, she has a cold, and Thea is with Roy...And Diggle is otherwise engaged in some personal matters....So I'm free...and you are too," he said to her. "So what do you want to do?"

"I’ll admit, weekends wouldn’t be nearly as exciting." Felicity chuckled. Her hand reached up hesitantly to meet his, holding his own hand to her face. It felt comfortable with him there. "Even though it is terrifying, really terrifying, at points, it’s nice to know that I’m doing something to help. Even if it is just Oliver Queen’s personal researcher." She teased. "Besides, who knows where you’d be without me."
He smiled a genuine smile before he looked up at her, "I would be too far behind and too busy killing people and caring about the book than making the city as a whole safer," he chuckled. He let the smile fall from his face as he looked at her for a long moment. "Is there anything you'd like to do tonight?" he asked with a shrug. "Just you and me.."

"I think so…I’m definitely going to try." Felicity admitted, running a hand through her hair. Having Oliver here made her feel more brave than she really was. Felicity wondered if he even realized the effect he had on people…on her. He gave the people of Starling hope for a better city and he gave Felicity the courage to be brave…like him. "Thank you Oliver. I don’t know what I would do without you." She chuckled slightly, moving her glasses back into place.
He nodded, "Good," he said quietly as he ran he brushed his thumb over her cheekbone. He smiled as he let his hand drop and he laughed a little, "You'd probably be better off without me," he confessed. "You'd still be in IT and wouldn't have to spend your nights underground helping me with my own crusade." He sighed as he ran a hand over her face, "But..no point thinking about that now, right?" He asked.

There was a pause as she let his words sink in. Felicity still felt guilty that she had been the one to make him go back on his word. “I’m sorry I put you in that position.” She murmured, finally braving a look into the archer’s eyes. “I know that wasn’t easy for you.” Her eyes filled with concern now as her lips pressed together, her head cocked to the side. He hardly talked about Tommy anymore, but whenever he did Felicity could tell he was telling the truth. He was right, she was allowed to be scared…all she needed to do was to learn how to handle it better. “I think Tommy would be very proud of you if he could see you today.” Felicity offered.
Oliver shook his head again, "You didn't put me in any position...and I'd do it again in a heartbeat," he said seriously. "It was easy, Felicity....like I said he had you and was gonna hurt you...it was an easy decision." When she mentioned Tommy being proud of him he smiled a little at it, though he didn't comment. He had no idea of Tommy would be proud, but he certainly wasn't when he found out who he was. "So...are you gonna be okay?" He asked her quietly. "Are you gonna....stop being ashamed of being scared?"

Felicity smiled, he might not notice but hearing him say that meant a lot for her, that he didn’t want to hide whatever they were having between them. She chuckled at his comment, “Well it’s not like you’ve only been here once, how is it that you just noticed that this time?” she asked, shaking her head a little as she opened the door too her place, turning on the light and let him in. “Would you like anything? Water or something?” she asked.
The archer smirked at her question but didn't bother answering. Instead he walked in and continued to look around. He shook his head as he pushed his brows together. "No, I'm fine," he told her. "But if you wanted to get something, obviously, don't mind me," he said as he hung up his coat. "I'm just here to...visit," he said as he watched her.

“I want to be strong.” Felicity insisted, shaking her head. “I don’t want for you to have to take care of me.” She explained. “I mean…it’s not that I don’t appreciate it or anything…” She started to fumble, great. “What I mean to say is…I don’t want you to see me as someone who needs constant protection.” Felicity wanted to be like him. “You hardly seem afraid of anything, Oliver. I’m sure you could have been in my shoes and would have handled it according or whatever. I don’t think you’re scared of much. You definitely wouldn’t be this scared, this freaked out.”
Oliver looked at her, "You are strong," he said seriously. "Stop thinking you're weak," he shook his head as he frowned. "I don't think you need constant protection, Felicity," he mumbled, his voice quiet. "When I was...first stranded on the island I was scared...all the time," he told her. "And...I learned to turn the fear into something else..I learned to get myself out of situations that scared me, so I be came less afraid....But that takes time...and effort and....years of practice. And I was scared when he took you," he whispered. "I was afraid he was going to hurt you...so afraid that I...went back on my word to Tommy that I'd never kill again because I had to save you. You aren't weak...and you're more than allowed to be freaked out," he gave her a reassuring half smile as he kept his gaze on her eyes.
