Age verification for Wikipedia and Spotify. YouTube banning accounts for under-16s, and rolling out AI to detect if someone is actually 18 based on their viewing history (100% guaranteed to falsely mark autistic adults as children at an irregularly high rate, btw). Banning porn off Steam and itch. Attempts to ban and IP range-block VPNs. Age verification for not just porn, but anywhere you could maybe possibly see porn, including basic social media features like DMs.

What the fuck is happening. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, what the fuck are they preparing for

They're preparing for Christian authoritarianism and a second wave of slavery adjusted for the modern era. This isn't speculation or fearmongering, this is what they've been saying they're preparing for for about 40 years. Here's what they're doing:

- Trump repealed net neutrality during his first administration. This means the Internet can be largely privatized. The main purpose of this is to stop the working class from communicating with each other country-wide. This is also why they shut down public broadcasting and why they target journalists who don't exclusively glaze trump

- queer people are under attack because women's rights are under attack. This is because women produce laborers, and right now women are not producing enough laborers to keep up with the lifestyle capitalists have gotten accustomed to

- women also used to do a lot more labor for free, and now they want to be PAID for it, which is another expenditure the owning class is chafing against

- slavery is legal if youve been convicted of a crime. This is why we have the largest prison population in the world, and why that population is disproportionately black men. They're enslaved. Look up how many prisons are built on former plantations.

- by making up a whole lot of new "crimes" and a gestapo that can nab people off the street without due process, they have access to a lot more unpaid labor (prisoners) to make up what the owning class has lost as theyve destroyed the economy

- religious and uneducated people are easier to control, which is why they're pushing religion and destroying education

- they're also trying to bring back justification to forcibly institutionalize "mentally ill" people, which is going to mean outspoken women, queers, and political dissidents

Basically they want the gilded age back but with the added bonus of Dictator. It's all about labor. They want a handful of people to have all the wealth, and for the working class to remain trapped under the boot. They're going to censor, silence, and kill a lot of people as means to that end. Can't have people making tiktoks about that, can we?
