Trust me I’d rather find a way to avoid a war if we absolutely can. I don’t want  any bloodshed. It’s a poor example for the kids and I want them to have good lives.

Yeah, they don’t...deserve to see all of that.

Mom wouldn’t let me get involved even if I thought I could help. But, not worrying…that’s easier said than done when your entire family is vampires. We’ve already been separated once, Dad.

No, I know, just don’t let it distract you too much. We’re all being careful. And, well, we’ve survived worse threats than the council.

I know we will, I just don’t want everything to end too bloody. I know everyone wants to protect their own and believe me, I do but not everything has to turn into a war, you know?

Maybe I should schedule a visit sometime with you and mom to go and look at it. That’s a normal teen thing with parents right?

Yeah, of course if you want to. But, you know that I’ll support you no matter what you choose to do after high school.

Yeah, that would be nice. But, Mom and Grandma, they’re…not budging. Mom doesn’t want me getting involved and told me not to worry, but you’re…all vampires. It’s hard not to.

I get it. Everything...has it’s way of working out but it’s normal to be worried. I’d want you to stay uninvolved and maybe not worry too much but it’s okay to be a little concerned and careful.

I don’t think she’s the biggest fan of it either, but she’s been…‘plotting’ with Katherine, and the whole baby thing is apparently a fail-safe. Honestly, I’ve been trying not to listen to it.

My mom’s smart too, I’m just...personally I’d like to try to negotiate with the council without anyone getting hurt or getting too close to them.

Your mom is smart, though. And, although I’m not the biggest fan of it all I trust her to be careful.
