“mommy and daddy always told me that i should work hard play less and be presentable and make sure that i am able to get good grades to make sure that i can make it in life but i dont think thats how it works because in kindergarten i passed my classes with scribbled and illegible yet flying colors and i made sure to always do my homework and study for tests But now, as I approach my final moment of high school, I wonder; Is this all? Is all I get for these lame words spewed off the tongue of authority figures a single piece of paper? What about my happiness? The sleepless nights that I longed to rest my eyes, But No! I cannot. I have to study, and work, and make sure that I am able to make something of myself. But by doing this, I sacrifice a piece of me that lasts with me forever- My mentality. And instead,” I sigh, and despite my thoughts reeling I write my vocabulary definitions down on my paper.
