“I was under the impression you didn’t like people making assumptions about you so I chose not to.” He was choosing to be awkward of course but it seemed fitting right now. “Normally not like what exactly?” Because if she meant stubborn and a little bit annoying, it was the side of Olivia he had witnessed since the first moment he had met her. “But you’re welcome. I wouldn’t watch someone struggle. Much as you might not believe it, I am not like that either.”

“Touche.” She couldn’t help but chuckle with a small bow of her head, realizing the other remembered more of their last conversation then she thought. “The type to not wear a coat in order to be fashionable over practical. Or to shiver and look pitiful in a way that make men feel guilty over not giving me their jacket.” Olivia nodded, “Well if I did think that then I’d be the one making assumptions and as you mentioned, it’s not something I do.”

“How much do I need to pay, bribe or feed you for you to go through these flashcards with me?” Olivia asked, holding up the bright coloured pieces of paper in front of her cousins face once she answered the door. “If it sweetens the deal even more, I did bring wine for you to make it and me more bearable during this tough time.” Olivia continued. “Also, if you say no I will just start crying on this very spot.”

“If you’re so eager for a drink, perhaps it would be best if you get your own instead of just grabbing a random one,” William commented loudly when he noticed the other trying to take his half empty gall of Firewhisky. His tone was casual since he figured it was an honest mistake, but one could never be too careful.

Olivia looked at the glass in her hand and put it down so quickly, “Merlin, I can’t believe I just nearly drank out of a strangers glass.” She spoke, nose scrunched up in disgust. “I have no background check on you, have no idea where you’ve been and could have contracted anything, it’s a good job you noticed when you did.”

“That was a squeeze to get out of. I think our double team tactic was ingenious really.” Fred joked when they had found themselves both fighting to get out of the area that had been tightly packed with people. “Being away from there, it really makes you realise just how cold it is out here. At least it’s not raining for a change.”

“It was either ingenious or we’ve now made a lot of enemies that we’re going to have to avoid for the rest of the evening.” She pointed out, just happy to be away from the crowds for a moment so she could breathe. “You’ve probably jinxed it now, watch the heavens open causing havoc on everyone’s outfits.” She pointed out to the other. “I would of course throw you under the bus for it too, let everyone know you spoke the forbidden words, so they can curse you out for it.” She smirked.

🧣 - one of our muses gives the other a jacket/scarf when they’re cold

“Haven’t you used a warming charm at least? You’ve been looking like you’re going to vibrate right out of your seat for the last ten minutes.” Aaron uttered, rolling his eyes even as he draped the suit jacket over the woman’s shoulders. Much as he didn’t particularly want to interact too much with most people, the part of him that had been ingrained to act like a gentleman as his mother and grandmother had taught him to be was still there.

“Do I really look like the type who would just forget warming charms exist in favour of being cold and looking helpless?” Olivia asked the other, trying to keep her teeth from chattering as she spoke. “I tried and they worked for at least five minutes before I went back to being cold again.” Olivia was surprised however when her shoulders were covered in the others jacket, moving to pull it closed over her body and offering up a small smile. “Thank you, I hate to be that person who makes other people given them their coats because they chose aesthetic over practicality. I’m not normally like this, I swear.”

“I was actually just trying to move the chair so that the lady with a pram could pass, but alrighty then, I get it, no touchy,” Francesca replied, slightly taken aback by the other’s words. “I’m going to pass on this lovely invitation since, as you’ve just pointed it out yourself, there are surely more sociable people around here.”

“Said lady with the pram was sat here before and let her screaming baby tear pages out of my books.” She commented, glaring at the woman as she walked passed. “Forgive me for not wanting to have any more disruptions when I’m busy working on something. But you’re probably correct, I’d even guarantee that those other people would be happy for the company, unlike me who would quite like to be left alone unless being bribed.”

“While I’m offended there’s so many requirements, even for someone as special as your favorite cousin, I never come unprepared,” Vera announced, placing a tea and the aforementioned muffin upon the table before occupying the previously vacant seat. “You’ve rejected me too many times in the past for me to not make sure I’m stocked up on blueberry muffins before approaching you,” she added with a laugh as she settled into the spot. “What are you studying for, Liv?”

“You know, I’m starting to think we’re sisters more then cousins because you clearly knew what I was needing before I even mentioned it.” Olivia commented, blinking down at the tea and muffin that had just been placed in front of her. “What can I say, they’re my weakness, my kryptonite, I’m a simple woman.” She smiled, picking up the tea and taking a sip. “They’re doing some courses at the hospital and I thought why not add another qualification to my belt, now I’m starting to regret all my decisions because I’ve had a week long headache.”

“Oh– I’m so sorry, Olivia,” she stepped away, pulling her hand back to her side at the woman’s words. “I just wanted to say hi. I haven’t run into you as often in the wing this week,” Lucy explained sheepishly, feeling guilty for invading Olivia’s space. “I’ll catch up with you another time then,” she then said, taking another step back from the free seat.

“Oh, Lucy.” She addressed the other, finally registering just who it was who had approached her. “Ignore all that, I thought it was stranger who was going to try and idly chit chat with me.” She commented. “You’re allowed to sit, you’re a like minded soul after all.” She smiled, gesturing to the chair that she had been meaning to take before she opened her mouth. “As for you not running into me much this week, I’ve been mostly at my other job. The Holiday season seemingly means many hospital beds filled in the Muggle world so I was asked if I could pull some extra shifts.”

“You make the mistake of assuming that I want anyone sociable.” Aaron stated before blatantly ignoring her words and planting himself firmly into his seat with a coffee as he looked through the notebook he had in his hand. “There is a counter over there that sells just that if you have a hankering for tea and cake. I’d advise you visit it.” He finished, pointing at said area.

When the other ignored her words she couldn’t help but give him one of her classic death glares that she felt she had perfected over the years when dealing with dumb asses who irritated her to no end. “You’re seriously just going to ignore everything I said, take little space because I’m basically using the entire table, just to be petty?” She asked. “I really want to use some colourful words on how much of a d-bag move that is, but I hate to say I kind of commend the lengths you’re going to when being this petty.”

Olivia sensed the shadow over her textbooks before catching sight of the hand on the back of the vacant chair opposite her, she held up one of her fingers before they even opened their mouth, eyes still focused on the words in front of her. “One, no you can’t sit there because I need the space for studying. Two, this isn’t the only free available chair left because I know for a fact there is several at the front of the cafe with other people who are probably way more sociable than me.” She spoke, eyes finally meeting the others. “And three if you really want the space that badly the price is a large tea and a blueberry muffin.” She finished.
