happy 86th birthday daffy duck!
april 17th, 1937, marks the day the cartoon porky’s duck hunt was released, which was the first time ever my favorite character, daffy duck, appeared on screen! the short was directed by tex avery, although daffy duck’s character is credited to be created by both tex avery and bob clampett. this short is also the first short where porky pig was voiced by mel blanc, instead of joe dougherty.
fun facts about daffy duck!
the audio for daffy duck’s voice is actually sped up, and is higher and obviously faster than mel blanc’s original recording. the original recording actually sounds almost identical to sylvester’s voice, and was later used for that character with slight differences.
according to chuck jones, daffy’s lisp was based off of their producer, leon schlesinger, who had a bit of a lisp himself. but in mel blanc’s autobiography, he states that daffy had a lisp because they figured that’s how a duck would talk, considering their long bills.
the record for longest characterization of a cartoon character by one voice actor was once held by mel blanc for daffy duck at 52 years. i think the record currently belongs to frank welker, who has voiced fred jones from scooby doo for 53 years.
the first time daffy duck was ever named was in the cartoon daffy duck and egghead from 1938, directed by tex avery.
daffy was ranked #14 in tv guide’s top 50 cartoon characters of all time in 2002 (although what would probably upset daffy is bugs bunny was ranked #1)
in the 1994 book the 50 greatest cartoons: as selected by 1,000 professionals, daffy duck appears in the most cartoons out of any other character, 9. notable choices are duck amuck at #2, duck dodgers in the 24 1/2 century at #4, the great piggy bank robbery at #16, and rabbit seasoning at #30. i think 16 of the 50 are looney tunes cartoons.
daffy duck starred in 130 cartoons 1937-1969, the third most out of all the looney tunes characters. bugs bunny is at first with 167 and porky pig is second with 153.
daffy duck is one of the most everchanging characters in cartoon history. he started in 1937 as a crazy, hyperactive screwball and calmed down a little in 1946, where his character gained a bit more depth. chuck jones changed his character drastically in 1951 to be paired with bugs bunny in rabbit fire. this selfish, greedy, and self-absorbed villain is the character most people know daffy as. now, reboots like new looney tunes and looney tunes cartoons feature daffy’s original character.
silly daffy is superior daffy (not a fact but it should be).

Lice and Fiona
Fiona has lice in her hair you cannot tell me otherwise. Her hair is messy but like everyday! There are seeds and Lice. Don't even get me started on the AMOUNT of dandruff if in there. Once it got so bad, it started to look like her roots were turning white. Horace helps a lot from then on keeping Fiona's hair clean. But when Horace started cleaning Fiona's hair there was: 2 ladybugs, 100's if not THOUSANDS of lice, seed, sprouting flowers and plants and hair oil a lot of hair oil. Horace was horrified at his discoveries and it took 5 hours getting everything out of her hair. Hugh was red once he'd seen Fiona and her clean hair. Horace was so tired he had though he Developed arthritis. Fiona was grateful for everything Horace did and Horace teaches her how to wash her hair properly till this day.
Horace once he saw her hair
Fiona when she told him about her hair

i PROMISE to upload another chapter soon but i've been kinda distracted by a love story of my own
Bojack expresses his agitation in a particularly horse-like manner here. Wish he kept doing this in subsequent episodes tbh
happy 88th birthday to porky pig!
march 2nd, 1935, i haven't got a hat first appeared in theaters. this marks the first every appearance of the magnificent character porky pig. the short was directed by friz freleng and featured the first appearance of many lesser looney tunes characters, including beans the cat, oliver owl, ham and ex, and little kitty. in this short, porky pig is featured reciting the poem paul revere's ride for a class talent show.
fun facts about porky pig!
porky pig was originally voiced by joe dougherty, who had an actual stutter. friz freleng hired him for this reason. this is why the stutter porky has at first seems more genuine than when mel blanc voices porky. the part was recast and given to mel blanc in 1937 because it became too expensive to keep doing retakes of dougherty's lines and recording sessions took hours.
the first cartoon mel blanc voices porky in is porky's duck hunt (1937), which also happens to be the first appearance of daffy duck.
mel blanc continued dougherty's stutter, but tried to make it reminiscent of the noises of actual pigs. when mel blanc took over looney tunes also began the gag where porky would struggle to say a word and then replace it with another word, which he would say in perfect clarity.
porky was originally intended to be a child, beginning in his first cartoon and represented in cartoons like porky's poppa (1938). in 1939, bob clampett (one of the best directors to ever work on looney tunes) permanently made porky a young adult.
porky wears pants in exactly three cartoons: porky's badtime story (1937), tick rock tuckered (1944) (a remake of porky's badtime story), and brother brat (1944).
porky pig's most common pairings were with gabby goat, daffy duck, petunia pig, sylvester, and charlie dog.
rover's rival (1937) by bob clampett was the first looney tunes cartoon to not only feature the merry-go-round broken down, the theme song for looney tunes, but also feature the end card with porky pig bursting through the looney tunes drum saying "that's all folks!" this end card was used till 1946, although i don't know which specific cartoon was the last cartoon that featured it.
porky's original design featured him having a large snout and a fat body. he was later redesigned to be smaller, but his face remained similar. this is the design you can see in the first edition of his end card. his design was changed to the porky we all know and love after that, which you can see in the second edition of his end card. his final and most popular design was created by bob clampett. in new looney tunes (2015), they reverted back to his original design, which luckily didn't affect any other designs of him.
porky mentors hampton pig in tiny toons adventures (1990). his descendent in loonatics unleashed (2005) is pinkster pig.
the rap sequence in space jam: a new legacy is the worst thing to happen to porky pig in the history of looney tunes (this obviously isn't a fact but am i wrong?)
Ich kann nicht warten für der nächste Zusatz zu Vorwärts Wieder!!! Ahahaha! Du werden nie kennen wen Dieses ist aus!!!
