Uncomfortable Project

For this project, I decided to choose someone who is close to me as my subject matter. I believe that surrounding yourself around people who make you happy brings out the best qualities in yourself as well. The process of photographing for me was capturing the moments when I felt that I was genuinely happy and comfortable in my surroundings. From those pictures I selected the ones that made me feel the most joy and best helped express these feelings. The challenges I faced during this project was not having more of a lay out for my contact sheets and usually taking pictures in hoards. I wish I spaced out the timing of my photographs so I would’ve had the opportunity to capture different scenes and colors in my contact sheets. I have learned numerous things from this project, such as the correct way to create a contact sheet with the pictures I took. This experience was my first time incorporating photography into my everyday lifestyle which meant I had to remember to take these pictures at a given time. In order to strategize the tenets, I would keep in mind the prompt before I went out photographing my subject. By doing this I was able to decipher which moment would fit into the different categories.
