Can we drink teas with an empty stomach early in the morning?

One tea friend told me via private message that he would drink a cup of tea after getting up, but somebody said it was bad for our stomach. So he asked me, can we drink teas early in the morning or not?

Actually, I think his real question is “Can we drink teas with an empty stomach early in the morning? ”. The obvious answer is No.

I also drink teas in the morning, but I never drink teas with an empty stomach. Nowadays overeating in the evening is most people’s living habits, which enlarges the burden on stomach, until the next morning stomach is basically empty. At this time, if we drink teas with an empty stomach, it will not only cause gastrointestinal discomfort and anorexia, but also cause the damage of gastric mucosa, thus leading to chronic gastritis.

Furthermore, tea leaves contain theine, so the intestines will absorb a large number of theine once we drink teas with an empty stomach. Theine can stimulate human central nervous system, improve metabolism and increase heart rates, thus causes fluster.

In summary, drinking teas with an empty stomach early in the morning is not a good habit. But you can eat something first before drinking teas. So it will not be harmful for us, just like Guangzhou’s famous Morning Tea.

One cup of morning tea helps clean intestines and stomach, while a good breakfast fills our stomach, and just like red flowers and green leaves, the two will be a good combination.
