zdarkmaster:
Who is anyway?
Holden Masters?
destructivesnurse:
“You sound like you are over 100 years old.” He said, sracthing the back of his head.
“You’d think someone that old would know more about kids than me. Am I annoying you?”
zdarkmaster:
As a Masters, I thought you would challenge me.
I’m not a very good Masters.
destructivesnurse:
Tokiwa was still very confuse. “Sorry to say this, but all of that is on the book or are you just saying that to say it?” He asked. “And that s a very weird way to allocate children into stuff? I don’t know, that sounds pretty weird.
“All of that is in the book.” Aggie said. “And other examples of just the chance of something leading to success. I don’t really know much about kids to say that, to be fair.”
destructivesnurse:
Tokiwa looked at him with the biggest bewildered expression he ever got. He really did not know what he was talking about and lucky for the other, or maybe not, Tokiwa was blunt about it “I did not understand a word of what you just said.”
“I thought that might happen. Basically in that country, the oldest kids of the school year were born in January, and the youngest were born in December, that’s how public education was set up. So the biggest kids on the school teams were born in January. The coaches of those school teams saw the big kids and trained them more because the bigger the are the more likely they are to do, whatever, sports stuff. By the time these kids get to college recruitment, they’ve had so much more attention from school coaches, they’re the best, and have an easier time making it on the country’s team. Therefore, that country had a team of people born in January.”
zdarkmaster:
I’m a psychologist, so that’s impossible.
Okay so I definitely can’t do your job and probably shouldn’t listen. I can distract you if you’d like?
destructivesnurse:
“What do you mean by being in the right path?” He asked him. “Not really. Am I in yours?”
“Like, there was this big, famous sports team, and eventually people realized that everyone on this team, or like eighty percent of it, were born in January. That’s because of the way the school system was set up, January was the beginning part of acceptance, so the kids born then were the biggest in the year, and all the little league coaches believed the biggest kids were the most mature or the best and gave them more attention. So by luck and chance, they got to be the best around and landed on the team. Did I explain that alright? No, you’re fine.”
zdarkmaster:
Depends. You never could handle some parts of my job.
Maybe? But I could listen if I can’t do your job.
zdarkmaster:
Some people…are just so…stupid.
Do I want to know, or do I want to run?
destructivesnurse:
“Never heard of that one.” He told him. “I’m just here to nap, so I can leave you alone if you want.”
“It’s a nonfiction piece, about the statistics of being on the right path.” Aggie tried to explain. “I don’t mind either way. I mean, am I in your way?”
destructivesnurse:
“What are you reading?”
“Malcolm Gladwell. Blink?” Aggie said, feeling on the spot for a moment. “Uh. I’d ask the same of you but... yeah.”
destructivesnurse:
“What are you here for?”
“I’m just reading. I like it here, it’s quiet, you know?”
chancexbennett:
“Thanks for letting me know. As for not being great at fixing stuff, it’s all good, hopefully they can get somebody in to fix it soon though,” Chance replied as he sat down in a nearby chair. “In all honesty, I’m just here because I needed to get out of the house and stop moping for awhile, I was starting to get cabin fever.”
“I hope so. It’d suck to get the whole way here just for the computer to be broken.” Aggie said. He tucked down his feet, so that Chance wouldn’t have to deal with shoes in his face. “You’re moping? What’s got you moping?”
destructivesnurse:
Tokiwa looked at him. He was confused. “I don’t work here dude, so don’t worry. I’m just here for some peace.” He told him.
“I didn’t think you did,” Aggie raised his eyebrows slightly. “I was just saying in case you’re here to study or something.”
“The computer is broken.” Aggie said from his desk. He was quite comfortable, with heavy headphones over his ears, and feet propped up on the table. He was thumbing through a well worn, annotated book, and hadn’t even turned to the door. He didn’t need to, to see someone was there. What he did know, was that in the library computer, a small wire was hissing like mad, preventing work from being done. “Sorry, I’m no good at fixing things.”
