It concerns me the casualty of which that our heroes are regarding canon. I feel like recognizable characters like Vriska and their adjacence to their supposed gods and progenitors are going to foster some incredible pathos a couple arcs later. They can never truly be on the same narrative level, since one has the dramatic irony of knowing the other is just a pet project of what's basically their aunt.

I'm not sure how they're going to bridge that gap of awe and reverence, but I'm excited to see the creative ways they can approach such a subject.

Andrew Hussie has a history of being litigious and over-controlling, with one example being forbidding art commissions based on Homestuck (which Vibri has since lied about, saying Hussie never wanted this to happen). This has escalated since the end of the comic into seeking total control over the fandom

As of 2026, they have begun discussing the weaponization of US police reports to silence fans who are not anonymous.
