I figured I'd talk about them more since I've pretty much began my own holy war against this establishment. Countless nights I've seen enraged patrons ask to speak to managers for mistreatment and countless nights these people go home with no conflict resolve, post about their experience on Facebook and nothing is ever done about it.
I think Cobalt has this thought process that they don't need to show respect or professionalism toward anyone. Which is a shame, because with a few changes they could save themselves from becoming the next Apex, however most of those changes revolve around the staff.
But don't take just my word for it, here are some lovely facebook posts to show you exactly what I'm talking about.
Donald Williams had this to say
"The venue itself is great, especially love how the talented DJ's mix the best songs.
I would like to have given this place a higher rating but both the manager and the head of security are so disrespectful and unprofessional.
The head of security felt it was okay to verbally demean paying customers and threaten to throw us (my husband and myself) out when I had asked for the owner's name. He was aggressive and threatening to the point that I felt as if it were my job to get him to calm down or possibly even restrain him.
Mind you he was the one on duty. When another more professional security guard directed me to the general manager, he (GM) acted like he couldn't be bothered, that it was not in his responsibility to diffuse the situation, and he would not give me the owner's name. He was however kind enough to roll his eyes, suck his teeth walk directly over to the head of security and let him continue to publicly belittle a paying customer in front of other paying customers. The head of security also found enough time to abondon his duties, just so he could rant to me about common sense as if he was my father instead of a higher ranking employee who works in an establishment that profits solely from customer satisfaction. Please remind your managers that having pissing matches and playing who's balls are bigger is not what they're being paid to do.
1. an establishment is nothing without it's patrons
2. In this town, you never know who knows who
3. there are plenty of people in DC who are just as qualified to do their respective jobs.
If Cobalt's management isn't able to grasp these three fundamental truths, then I'm afraid this revered club will end up as just another Apex."
While Joe Brookman had this to say
"I love Cobalt but it is a bullying atmostphere! from Kickball on Sunday night to Thursday Kickball in the night! I"m ashamed that Cobalt would treat customers this way!!!!"
"Anger cannot express what I feel having been a supporter and having had parties at Cobalt.... I'm done"
Even Rumor Millz weighed in on the establishment!
"You get treated with more decency at JR's and Number 9 don't waste your time."
Hopefully Cobalt can turn it around, or someone shuts it down, because where it's at now, we really can't be bothered.
