The truth about machine gun Kelly.
Disclaimer: I am NOT out to get him, ruin his career, or anything of the sort. I just don’t want anyone to expect more out of him for a fan experience. (Granted I am sure people have had good experiences with him. I’ve had 2 bad ones) And I don’t want anyone to get (physically) hurt like me. If you get injured at a show, take action.
So last night, November 3rd 2016. I saw machine gun kelly at the Norva theatre in Norfolk Virginia. I have seen him 2 other times. At the same venue in 2012, and at the Vans warped tour in 2012. My first personal experience with him, he was flat out rude to my cousin. She walked up to him and asked for an autograph he ignored her and walked on the bus. Not something you see much in the “heartfelt” fan videos posted to his YouTube channel. He is just a careless person. That was in 2012, fast forward to 2016. Me, my 2 cousins and our 2 friends are 3rd row. Everything is going good the vibe is good. Next thing I know, without warning, he jumps into the crowd. No one was prepared to catch him so not only did he fall right onto me. He broke/ fractured my nose. Now before anyone says “you were in the pit” “you were close, it happens”
I’m an avid concert goer. From death metal shows to rap shows. I’ve been kicked in the face at warped tour. By another concert goer. I’ve been fallen on. Moshed into. Kicked in the head. The whole 9 yards. That stuff happens at shows. At big venues. At festivals. I know what I’m getting myself into when I attend events like warped tour, Carolina rebellion. Rock on the range. I have attended the Norva on plenty occasions and never have I ever been hurt, by a crowd surfer who just happened to be the main act. Moshing & crowd surfing is FORBIDDEN in that venue. They banned Tyler the creator a few years back for doing just that because he injured someone. So, no I should not have “expected” to get hurt being in the pit at a venue that very rarely if at all has this happen because as I said. ITS NOT ALLOWED.
Once I left the crowd in full panic mode and covered in blood, I was taken to be aided and my nose had to be pushed back into place, I stayed for the rest of the show but spent it crying because I spent a pretty penny on the tickets for a birthday gift for my two cousins we were two hours away from home, and I had just gotten kicked in the face by the main act. Here’s the kicker. We waited outside his bus for about 2 ½ hours, I did not want anything free I did not want any pictures or autographs I wanted him to be aware of what happened so it didn’t happen to anyone else, I didn’t expect an apology I just wanted him to be or act sincere. I told him what he did as he walked up to me, shook my hand, it sounded like he mumbled he didn’t care but I didn’t catch it, shrugged his shoulders and ‘I don’t care’ type of manner& said “sorry” but it was more like “sorry?” And walked away. No one in his crew seems to care, his guitar player thought I was lying. And after that I was like alrighty then. And we drove home. 2 hours away. I am awaiting a medical bill that I think he should pay because it should be common sense you don’t JUMP into a crowd surf. From what I heard, he injured another girl at the same show by jumping in the crowd. He’s careless, and wreck less and when confronted with his actions he shows no signs of being truly sorry. He puts on a front one cameras are around so we can put it on YouTube and make it look like he’s a normal nice dude who’s genuine. Nah.
The picture posted is after my face was cleaned up. The blood was all down my nose face, mouth and chin. And on my shirt. Most of the rest of it is on the floor of the venue.
This is ridiculous. The way you’re going about this is ALL wrong. You should know that now that you have posted this ‘story’ for attention, you will most definitely not get an apology or anything from Kells and his team. What you should have done, if you are indeed so pressed about the situation...instead of walking up to the dude RIGHT after a show, after he has been performing to show him your injury (which is stupid by the way). You should have got medical help and then tried to contact his team privately which is not that hard to do. His manager’s email is on twitter and instagram.
Furthermore, if you have seen him more than once your ass should KNOW that regardless of the rules that the venue has, MGK is going to jump into the crowd anyway. I find it hard to believe that you weren’t expecting that...like c’mon. I have seen him 6 times with 2 venues that have prohibited crowd surfing and guess what? I STILL EXPECTED IT AND HE STILL DID IT. His knee hit me hard in the face, I was out of it for a second but I didn’t expect ANYONE to apologize or say “poor baby” and I sure as hell wasn’t going to try and sue him because guess what? It’s a part of the show, it’s a part of the experience. Later after the show we ran into him and he saw the bruise and he said “Damn was that me?” I nodded and replied he replied “Damn I’m sorry, the smile on your face says you enjoyed it anyway.” And we laughed about it because I DID enjoy it and I know that he didn’t intentionally hurt me. Literally EVERYONE gets injured during his shows at one point if you go to enough of him. It’s something we ALL get over, I can tell you have an ulterior motive because I’ve raged with people that have had it WAY worse than you...went to the hospital and continued to be happy about the experience. And I’ve seen you try to discourage fans from supporting him, stop that shit. Some of us have actually had amazing experiences with him and know him for what he really is. If you’ve had a bad experience with him, that’s you but don’t you dare try and ruin it for other people because you couldn’t hang.
I really suggest you just let this shit go since you couldn’t go about it the right way. accept the fact that you got hurt and move on. Dude doesn’t need to pay your medical bill. He probably had no sympathy when you came up to him because he has literally broken bones and chipped teeth for US on tour so in his eyes you’re a crybaby and that’s exactly how EST sees you also.
As for you asking for an autograph....if you have followed his career in the slightest, you would know that is the WRONG THING to do. There is a time and a place for that and he’s clearly said that he does not like taking pictures or giving autographs. It literally dehumanizes him. Be happy that you got to see him in concert and leave it at that. HE IS NOT OBLIGATED to sign your piece of paper so don’t get mad when he doesn’t that’s stupid and childish.
Bottom line: I do not sympathize with you one bit. Not because I haven’t been in your place. Because I have....6 fucking times.
