Up & Coming

Hey! I shot my first concert this past Friday & it was so much fun! I ended up getting nervous whenever I first got there but after meeting the band & hearing the music, it was like everything fell right into place. I was in the zone haha. The band that played was The Coat & Color! They're a local Christian band here in Ventura but they are pretty awesome so go check them out! I Can’t Even!

Today I met with the photographer & she gave me great advice! She inspired me today to just take a chance & ask. Don’t let fear hold you back & not to take no for an answer. As soon as I got home, I made it my mission to take the chance. I am now shooting my first concert on Friday & am shooting a band promo in the next two weeks! I can’t even explain how excited and happy this makes me!! I don’t want to say it was easy but as soon as I just took the chance & wouldn’t take no for an answer, it became easier. I encourage everyone to do the same with their dreams. It really is life changing!

Falling Into Place

Hey everyone! Today was a really good & encouraging day. First, I was able to schedule a time to meet with a professional photographer to discuss photography & the real world business(: Second, I am taking a scientific photography class this semester but honestly I’m only taking it because there wasn’t really any other options being offered this summer. It’s not a class that I am totally into but so far I’ve been putting the effort in to do experiments that no one in the class is doing which is scary because I wasn’t sure if the teacher would like it or not. But today in class my teacher was talking about our second experiment and how pretty much everyone did the same experiment & then mentioned that I did color pinhole photography. I was a little in shock when he said he liked it and thought it was creative. This really made me happy because I was worried he wasn’t going to like it because I wasn’t doing what everyone else was doing. I know, I know.. Don’t follow the crowd. Which I didn’t but it was still a little worrisome. Then it gets even better. After class I stayed behind because I needed to ask some questions so it was just me and another girl. He then went on to tell both of us that we were the two in the class that he would recommend for future jobs. Honestly this made me so happy. Yes, I don’t have a huge interest in scientific photography but it was really encouraging to hear(: He told us to keep doing what we’re doing because we’re doing all the right things to be recommended by him. To be in a class that doesn’t have a ton of my interest & it only be week 5 with him telling us that really was encouraging and awesome(: I don’t even think I can put into words how much of a good mood this put me in. I really needed things to start falling into place & it finally started to today(: I hope everyone else had a great day as well! Tell me about it, I’d love to hear about it!

Music & Photography

Hey! So it’s been awhile since the last time I’ve really posted. I just finished watching Fan Girl on Netflix & I’ve got to say, I really liked it. Of course it didn’t hurt that one of my favorite bands is in it(All Time Low). Recently, I’ve been allowing music to inspire me to create images & after seeing this movie, it inspired me to keep photographing what I love. Music & photography are such a big part of my life that it feels amazing that I’m being able to connect them(: A little less than 3 semesters left & I will graduate with a BA in photography. I can’t wait to graduate & be able to focus more on my music photography career. Music will always be an inspiration to me whether it be creating an image inspired by a song, shooting a band promo or shooting a band live. It’s apart of who I am & I wouldn’t change it for the world. 

Sorry this is so short but I feel like it gets my point across(:
