this is pretty much a spider-man: no way home special. post-nwh, i have competing but equally strong desires: to read all the fix-it fic, the fixier the better, OR then to read fic in which peter picks himself up and competently resumes his new life. okay, there’s also wallowing in sadness, and spider-bro bonding is very compelling to me… as such, these are the categories i will use today.
it goes without saying that this place is chock-full of spoilers. also, there’s a whole bunch of wips here–so of course it’s hard to know if all of them will stick the landing, but at least i had a good time reading till this point.
nwh sadness
halley’s comet by Zaypay - as said on the tin, this one is sad. tony time-travels to after nwh from right before endgame to see peter and make sure he’s okay, that the plan succeeds. peter is obviously not okay, and tony isn’t staying, but at least peter gets to see him one last time…

can i have a moment before i go? by tonystarktrash - tony from another dimension accidentally ends up in peter’s universe after nwh. he doesn’t stay or take peter with him, hence the nwh sadness… this fic stood out to me for how peter is different. he’s angry and he’s sad and he’s coping, and he doesn’t expect anyone to save him.
Memories Leave Bruises by Eqquator - peter hallucinates tony at his apartment. this momentarily makes things better, but, uh… obviously, also not.

Long Story Short (It Was A Bad Time) Or AIs Don’t Forget by peacockgirl - when i read this, i was like, yess, this is the kind of fix-it i’m after. essentially, in a universe where tony is still alive, the mind wipe didn’t work on ais, so peter still has karen, and karen contacts friday, and when peter’s super injured friday contacts tony, who doesn’t remember peter but who remembers eventually. and it’s all very h/c and <3
Peter Parker and the AIs by Ocearna - a series of fics (the series is incomplete, but each fic is) focused on the premise that, post-nwh, all people have forgotten peter, but tony’s ais still remember him. which is obviously similar to the above, but tony is still dead in this one. however tony left protocols for the kid with friday and also with si, and friday is acting in peter’s best interests, which is very much what i needed.
to the lonely themselves it wears a mask by PicassoPickle - complete, and this one is peter and happy-centric. starts off sad because nobody remembers peter, but happy sort of worries about him even without remembering, and then his memories come back and it’s all heartwarming.
Universal Constants by bluesweatshirt - this involves dr strange sending peter into a different universe at the end of nwh. in this new universe, peter died with his parents in the plane crash and tony is alive. naturally, they (re)connect.
all the paths back home by sushicorps (Inclinant) - a series of short fics where nwh is fixed because tony stark is alive. in the first, he comes back to life before the spell is done, and prevents everything from happening. in the second, he’s alive, and after nwh morgan remembers peter and makes tony remember too.
Forever Winter by Milstrim - a wip, we’ll see where this one goes! tony comes back from the dead like after nwh goes down and he’s like ??? peter?? and nobody remembers peter, of course. so he’s trying to find him. hopefully they will and everybody will live happily ever after? who knows.
Hold On To It All My Son by Forthenightisdarkandfullofterror - a short fix-it where tony is alive (but in a coma during far from home) and realizes something is off when he wakes up. (naturally, then he finds peter and remembers him.)
Remember What They Stood For by Liliaphant (Seaphire) - a short fix-it where morgan remembers peter and makes pepper look for him after nwh. is it self-indulgent? yes. is that a bad thing? no, because that boy needs all the fix-its.
Sanctuary Volunteer Hours by JK_Terfling_Can_Suck_My_Silicone_Dick - it’s a promising wip, and sort of on the edge between sadness and fix-it. the idea here is that, post-nwh, peter hangs out at the sanctum santorum, and strange gets invested in his well-being even though he doesn’t remember him.
The world kept you like a secret, but I kept you like an oath by Forthenightisdarkandfullofterror - well, i assume this wip will eventually lead to a fix-it! this presumes that tony was alive the whole time, but in a coma, and his heart stopped at the exact moment the spell was done, so it didn’t affect him. he wakes up and still remembers peter and is looking for him. peter’s not doing too hot in this one (so there’s def nwh sadness as well) but yeah hopefully it’ll end well…
ned and mj remember
my tears ricochet by strwberrywaffle - a well done ‘mj and ned figure it out’ fic! some of it is peter’s pov, but most of it is theirs, worrying about this weird guy and bonding with him, and then mj remembers first.
Worth a Thousand Words by Komoru - a sweet fic wherein peter at first holds off on telling mj and ned about him, but then becomes friends with them anyway and ultimately tells them and they remember. it may be too easy, but that’s what peter deserves rn!
in the end i’d do it all again by joshriku - peter befriends mj and ned without telling them anything, so kinda similarly sweet to the above, but here they figure it out without being told.
to see through all the smoke and dirt by mjonesing (klassmartin) - peter goes to mit in this one, and meets harry and gwen, but also more importantly mj and ned are also there and they figure it out and remember peter independently, without him confessing. what sets this apart is that they’re angry at peter for lying to them. i mean, it still ends well, but it was a cool take.

rest your weary head by wednesdayevening - this is sweet so far! wip (well, a two-chapter one, and only one chapter is there now). peter two and peter three come through to peter’s universe because they figure out what happened, and they still remember him, and give him a much-needed hug.
I’d Like to Be My Old Self Again (But I’m Still Trying to Find It) by fangirl_in_a_trenchcoat - this one is focused on peter three (so, garfield’s peter). it’s a bit less spider-bros bonding, maybe, but it’s got him looking at the other two peters who found their mjs, and wondering what it means for himself.

Spider-Man: Creating Home Again by Lebaas - wip. this runs with the idea that spider-man is invited to the new avengers (with yelena, kate, shang-chi) and forges new bonds from there. also, things generally look hopeful for him, and people appreciate him and his competence.
